String them up

Three Charged in Plan to Attack U.S. Military in Iraq
A federal grand jury on Tuesday indicted three Ohio men for their role in assisting terrorism on U.S. targets overseas, specifically American military personnel and their allies in Iraq.

Apparently no one told Mohammed here that the shirt is supposed to be wrapped around your head, not your face.

It sure would please me if these guys had a 1 week trial and were executed the day after they were found guilty. Wouldn't that send a message to the terrorists. It would also be immensely popular with the country and cause democrats and the media to go into a bizarre rage, proving once again how out of touch they really are.

(Someone check voter records, are these guys registered democrats?)

screw voting records. are they citizens? if so, charge them with TREASON. if not, are they here legally? if not, lock them up in Gitmo and give them NO legal rights.

"Mohammad Zaki Amawi, 26, who was a citizen of Jordan and the United States who lived in Toledo until August 2005; Marwan Othman El-Hindi, a 42-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen born in Amman, Jordan who lives in Toledo; and Wassim Mazloum, a 24-year-old legal U.S. resident"

I say strip them of their legal residency status or their citizenship and make them serve their sentence in Gitmo.

You are right Gully.

update: after digging through the article, I conclude that one is a naturalized citizen, one a legal alien resident, and the other is vague: is says "was a citizen of Jordan and the United States." What does that mean? He was a Jordan citizen who became naturalized? This is not clear.

I want to know exactly HOW these people got here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the indictment is only a charge, yes? Deciding whether they're actually guilty requires, as I recall, a trial. Unless we're to finally throw that silly little creed of "innocent until proven guilty" out the window.

He was a Jordan citizen who became naturalized? This is not clear.

Dual citizenship, perhaps?

I want to know exactly HOW these people got here.

Well, sounds like the first one was born here - not much INS can do about that - and the other two, I suspect, immigrated - which, as is a central piece of the most common illegal-alien policy around here, is not terribly difficult to accomplish.

I do find it rather odd that a lot of media is saying that these three men were "aiding terrorists." Plotting to attack troops and assassinate the President? I'd say that, if these accusations are true, than they rather are terrorists. You don't have to be an al Qaeda alumnus to kill people.

funny, liberals all think Tom DeLay, who was only indicted, should be run out of town before a trial...

Indicted by a prosecutor who had his sites on DeLay for years.

The legal presence issue is interesting, but I want to know howthese guys were caught. Did either the Patriot act or wiretapping help nab them?

Wouldn't help the argument in favor of either, I can assure you.

quote from the article:

One interesting aspect of the case is that officials seem to have intercepted e-mail communications from the suspects to their jihadist brethren in the Middle East. The indictment shows the nature of the e-mails, including a concern the men needed to use code words to conceal what they were talking about.

One official told FOX News that this investigation used all the tools, including FISA warrants.

"A lot of FISAs," one source said, referring to the warrants obtained under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Law enforcement officials also told FOX News that if it were not for the Patriot Act, authorities would not have been able to bring the charge of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

If I had my way...

Mr. Testicles, meet Mr. Pliers.

Sorry for my posting frequency, but I do find it vastly ironic that so many of you felt an immediate desire to deal with those who threatened to torture and kill people by torturing and killing them.

Daniel said...

I do think that, upon conviction, they should be sentenced to death and that order should be executed immediatly.

While I wouldn't go for removing testicles with pliars I would be fine with the psycological warfare of burying their dead bodies with pig guts as long as we make it a policy of doing that with all killed terrorists, including those on the battlefield and those who blew themsevles (and women and children) up.

String them up you say!

But only with pig intestines.

come on Daniel.

You know this guy was just checking his deodorant.

I'm sure, Daniel, that the victims and their families would be completely pacified by that treatment. "The bus my son was riding was incinerated a couple days ago, and for a while I though I was going to have a hard time dealing with it, but thank God they buried the bomber's remains with swine intestines! I'm a whole new woman!"

And it would really help with the War on Terror, wouldn't it? They already think that the United States as a whole is the Great Satan, and we've already demonstrated perverse disrespect to Abu Ghraib prisoners and their corpses, and in fact have already taken to burning their bodies on the battlefield in some cases, but hell, burying them with pig guts, that's gonna be the straw that breaks the camel's back, en't it.

kaelri is dumb enough to think that if we're nice to the murdering psychos, they'll stop blowing up kids. Bwaaahaha. Nothing we say or do will make them any better or worse. Their actions and beliefs have been clear for 1,600 years.

I'm for torturing these bastards. Fight fire with fire I say. What part of "Holy War" don't liberals understand. Time to show the muslims a little more shock and awe...maybe this time they'll decide that the way we do things in the (Christian) West is a little better than running around in your bedsheet making funny noises. How about a thousand of theirs for every one of ours? Next stop, Syria...

no torture. fair trial. but speedy trial. and if guilty, swift death.

there is nothing controversial or hypocritical about it.

You guys should ask Bush about who he wants to manage U.S. ports. Speaking of treason. Huh??????
