A little irony

Population Connection (formerly Zero Population Growth) is the largest national grassroots population organization that educates young people and advocates progressive action to stabilize world population at a level that can be sustained by Earth's resources.

Not just a valid drivers license, you have to have your own car! No carpooling for these envirowackaos!!

Since when does "own transportation preferable" preclude carpooling? Sounds like the nature of the job itself might, but the language clearly doesn't.

And since when is keeping the population under control a bad thing?

Have you even gone to these people's site Kaelri? What if they propose starting wars to control population?

What are you proposing? Restrictions like China?

What I could accept is a restructuring of the tax code to not give additional deductions past two kids.

You might have been sent to a different site than I was. I went on to "populationconnection.org" in search of a comprehensive statement of their policy. I found it.

"The only acceptable solution to the population problem is through expanding educational, advocacy and service efforts that lower birth rates."

These are the people who make envirowackaos' skins crawl. You should be proud of them.

And I? I propose nothing. The choice (or not) of people to have children that neither they nor their immediate societies can support is far beyond my jurisdiction.

Rude question# 1: Can we start with them not reproducing?

[Moonbat mode - on] You see, the planet with all its flora and fauna is far more important than mere human beings who, as we all know are a cancer on the body of Gaia, and must be removed if the great earth mother is to survive...blah, blah, blah. [Moonbat mode - off]

Is this plan to "educate young people" another attempt at progressive [socialist] indocrination?

(I seem to have forgoten my mantra -, oh, yeah, "Four legs, good. Two legs, bad.")

"Professing to be wise, they became fools...and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator..."

Thomas, that was great! And Kaelri, this is actually a different group than I was thinking of, another Oregon group that I blogged on earlier actually sounding like Thomas' sarcasm.

population control may become moot if african nations continue to ignore such things as: Aids, ethnic war, jihad, democracy, etc., etc.. Of course, if Iran uses the "bomb", there'll be lots of room for new people (and cars) on the brand new glass parking lot that used to be Teheran.

Since the entire world's population would fit in the State of Texas with no greater density than that of New York City, sustainability attains moonbat status as an issue.

Bear, perhaps you haven't noticed, but conservatives get all bent out of shape when they are asked to live at any density greater than single-family detached homes on large lots. So your statement is just plain silly.

Ahh. Verstanden, my friend. Good old moonbats.
