Another illegal alien on welfare

AP: Obama aunt from Kenya living in US illegally
Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

It was not immediately clear how Onyango might have qualified for public housing with a standing deportation order.

Please please please, let this open a discussion on illegal immigration and amnesty in the presidential election. Deport her tomorrow so that Obama can come out strong for blanket amnesty and defend taxpayer services for illegals.

UPDATE
Barack Obama did not know a relative was living in the United States illegally for the past nearly four years prior to today's Associated Press report, "but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed," the campaign said Saturday in a statement.

All "appropriate" laws should be followed. I guess that the inappropriate ones can be ignored.

I want to be a scab

I had never wanted to be a union member until the other day when I drove past the striking Boeing workers. They had a giant "scab of the month" banner naming one of their co-workers who, and this is shocking, decided to keep working to support himself. I want my name on a banner like that.

For a long time I've thought that if you wanted to do something positive for taxpayers, gun owners, property owners, unborn babies and children the best thing you could do in Oregon was weaken the unions. Kari Chisholm (who hates black people, I keep saying it so it must be true) really proved my point:

You can't be a progressive unless you're pro-labor
The good folks of organized labor are the only people putting substantial and sustained resources into fighting for progressive policies.

If we didn't have organized labor fighting for progressive policies and Democratic candidates, we'd have lost the battle long, long ago.

But to point out that unions are not always self serving, Chisholm does note that unions actively work to elect people who will screw them:

If we get universal health care in this country, it's highly likely that individual union members will pay more and get less than they get under their current negotiated contracts.

And yet, everywhere you turn, it's organized labor that's leading the grassroots fight for universal health care.

Keep that in mind when you vote on your ballot measures that deal with unions and the public money they use to campaign for socialism.

No Biden, we're not joking

Obama wants the courts to force socialism on America.

If you haven't seen it yet

The Obama campaign has now cut this station off for all future interviews. How dare you ask reasonable questions that average Americans have.

Yesterday they marched... Friday they vote (part dos)

Voter assistance forum offered
Voz Hispana's Political Action Committee will host a voter assistance forum to help individuals registered to vote to fill out their voter's ballot.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the PCUN office, 300 Young St. For information, call (503) 935-9204.

From the voter pamphlet: (page 12)

You have the right to ask for help from elections staff or from a friend or family member. There are some people who cannot help you vote, for example, your boss or a union officer from your job.

PCUN is a union hall. A union for illegal aliens. I can see the legal argument now: "He's not really my union officer because I'm not legally able to work, now give me my ballot."

Please see post below for part one of this travesty.

Yesterday you marched... today you vote?

Event will provide voters assistance
Individual's needing help filling out their voter's ballot are invited to a voter assistance forum in Salem on Thursday.

The event, sponsored by Voz Hispana's Political Action Committee, will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Miguel's Sports Bar & Mexican Restaurant, 1410 Lancaster Drive NE.

This is the English version of the article, a Spanish version is also up on their website. I'm not sure which one appeared in the print version of the paper.

VOZ is the group that helped put up the illegal alien day labor site in Portland. VOZ puts up pictures of their "workers" on their website where you can't see anyone's face. (PCUN does this as well)

There are two people that I would like to see attend this event: someone with a video camera and a Republican party official who insists that amensty will result in more Republican votes.

Vote no on all bond measures

So I went on the Clackamas school district site tonight to follow up on Lars' stuff today and was immediately disgusted. (this was without getting to the "hookup" clothing) Their calendar is one big illegal alien celebration with our tax dollars.

October Meetings and Events
Ready, Set, Go: Kindergarten readiness class
Presented in English & Spanish for children who will enter kindergarten in North Clackamas in the fall 2009 ...

Strengthening Families
This class (in Spanish) is for parents of youths age 10 to 14 who want to help kids avoid drug & alcohol abuse. Child care is provided.

Beginning Spanish
Child care is provided.

Learn English
This free adult class is for beginning English learners. Child care provided.
By "free" they mean "that schmuck Daniel who goes to work every day is paying for it."

These are the first few items on the calendar. There is even an event that is listed in Spanish only. If I was a space alien who just landed and looked at this calendar I would think that the public schools in Clackamas existed only to provide child care to Spanish speakers.

A cultural tradition

Weekend party turns violent as Gresham police attacked
Police today said 38 officers responded Saturday to a birthday party that turned into a riot, in what Gresham police are saying is the city's largest melee in almost 20 years.

The riot stemmed from a Quinceanera, a celebration for a Latina turning 15. Police said more than 100 people attended the party, and many appeared intoxicated.

The event was held at GSI Community Center, 1493 N.E. Cleveland Ave., where police have been called 20 times in the past 18 months. Officers said they have been assaulted there six times.

The news report last night absolutely refused to mention that this is a Mexican cultural thing. The online text version of that newscast can be seen here. Sounds like this was just a cultural misunderstanding and the officers who responded, and where assaulted for their trouble, should probably get some diversity training.

Coming from the amnesty party?

This coming from the party that overwhelmingly suppports amnesty? That's what I love about election time, democrats actually have to pretend to care about supporting gun rights, punishing criminals and opposing illegal aliens. They are lying through their teeth but at least it shows us that they know where Americans stand on these issues.

Lose money every sale, make up for it with volume

Ride the bus? Maybe not
With a shrinking budget, Lane Transit District is facing route cuts at its busiest time

Lane Transit District has proposed a plan to cut its total services by 15 percent, a move that could eliminate 13 routes, raise fares and affect thousands of University staff and students.

The cuts come at a time when more people are using LTD services than ever before, Eyster said. The LTD Board will vote on the proposed changes in November.

This is a perfect example of government running things. Offer up a service that is not paid for by the end user, run short of money, make life difficult for those people who chose to become dependent on government.

Depending on government for your transportation is a bad idea, depending on government for your health care could be fatal.

Daniel's voters guide

I was going to do an extensive voters guide but decided that it's not really neccessary. There is one steadfast rule:

To pick the leader of the free world you just look to see who the MTV crowd is supporting and vote the opposite way.

Tough times might call for layoffs

The following people who work for Oregon state government (in theory that is us) should recieve pink slips tomorrow:

Gloria M. Anderson, Cultural Competency/Confidentiality Coordinator

Black Employee Resource Group Representative:
Michael Cartwright, HS/OIT
Bittern St., Salem, OR; 503-945-5486

Hispanic Employee Representative:
Oscar Herrera, District 3, Supervisor
Woodburn, OR; 503-373-1200x389

I'm almost positive that we can fire the lady who is the Cultural Diversity Manager for the addicts and they won't notice. Imagine the conversation:

"Hey Jeff, let's not stick needles filled with meth into our veins anymore."

"Sorry Fred, without proper cultural competency training from the state of Oregon I'm just not interested in staying clean and sober"

Opening day

One hen mallard on opening day for me. Several ducks who must have been wearing armor got away...

Friday, October 10, 2008

If they wanted to protect us why didn't they do this earlier?

If Measure 57, the "talk loudly but carry a small stick" crime measure, was so important why did our democrat politicians wait to put it out until there was a real anti-crime measure (Measure 61) on the ballot?

It never ceases to amaze me how much liberals want to coddle criminals.

I don't know where to begin

With new reports showing a huge increase in crime relating to and around medical marijuana it was time for our lawmakers to step up to the plate and do something... like participate in the Oregon Medical Cannabis Awards 2008.

Both Representatives Peter Buckley and Ben Cannon will be in attendence according to the advertisement for the show.

And what a show it will be. When last years "winner" was described as "a very well-groomed bud with a pleasant aroma, not too rough on the lungs, and great taste and potency" and the addition this year of hemp-based wedding dresses, this is THE place to rub elbows with the upper crust of society.

And just in case you thought elected officials would be the only folks showing support for smoking narcotics fear not, taxpayer funded DHS will be there and has gone in the past (.mp3) to give talks on the "rules" about marijuana.

And of course last year "[a]ttorneys in attendance earned 4 CLE credits from the Oregon State Bar for their participation."

Way to go Oregon.

The great debate

Wishful thinking on my part: Things I would like to hear McCain say tonight.

I was wrong about amnesty, since the slowdown of the economy I have recognized that importing cheap labor hurts the American worker and exporting millions of dollars to Mexico hurts local business.

The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting, it has to do with keeping all potentially tyrannical governments in check and personal defense.

I support a woman's righ to choose... where to send her children to school under a voucher system.

I don't lower taxes because they help stimulate the economy, that's just a pleasant side effect. I support lower taxes because it is morally wrong to take 50% of someone's hard earned money no matter how much they make. Economic freedom means not having the fruits of your labor go to needle exchange programs which my opponent supports.

Green card + home loan

Good old Cornelious Oregon, not far from Centro Cultural. Stop in to inquire about an amnesty lawyer, stay for the zero down, zero cost home loans. What's this I keep hearing about a "mortgage crisis"?

Racist organization: the true prohpet

I guess that they forgot to tell the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals but someone did predict that the illegal alien home loans would turn out badly:

Of the loans made to Latinos in 2005 and 2006, 1 in 12 will end in foreclosure.

In 2008 we expect to see approximately 20,000 foreclosures a week.

Foreclosure rates have not yet peaked in Hispanic communities.

So who made these statements? It was La Raza at their A Stronger America Together: Advocating for Latino Families event. But with all the business sense of the average socialist this same group insists on pushing these mortgages anyways and strives for a "Fair Housing System that Works for Latinos."

The whole "borrow money and then pay it back" system seemed to be working just fine to me.

It's back... Obama will probably threaten them

This video was taken down for a period but is now back. In other censorship related news: the Obama camp is sending lawyers after radio and tv stations that air NRA ads. They threaten their FCC license. I guess in Obama's world the government can prohibit certain speech.
