Who cares?

Over at BlueOregon, where they hate black people, (I keep saying it so it must be true!) they have been harping to find a business that has left Oregon because of the Measure 66/67 tax increases.

For the sake of argument let's pretend that no business or individual has left because of the tax increases. Who cares? Why is it moral to give the government a larger slice of the pie? If a business and individual can "afford" to pay the higher taxes does that make it just to take their earned income?

If taxes could be raised further without a single company leaving does that mean we should do it? At what point is enough enough? The lefties only answer is "how much will you give us?"

If the government got 90% of every companies profits and they didn't leave would that make it right? Why does the state deserve that money?

When an individual earns money, what percentage of it does the state deserve? Why is it more important for the government to have that money than the person who earned it?

Whose money is it? Do we exist to support the government or does the government exist to do the limited functions that we the people require to maintain an orderly society?

Do you work with the intention of contributing to the state's coffers or to provide for your own dreams, goals and wants? Does a business exist to provide a product or service that people want to purchase or are they here to make sure that government employees have guaranteed employment?

To me the "how many businesses have left" question is not how this issue should be framed. "How much is enough" is the question that I want answered.

Can our cultural competency managers teach this?

Mexican massacre investigator found dead
The body of an official investigating the massacre of 72 Central and South American migrants killed in a ranch in the northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas was found today dumped beside a nearby road alongside another unidentified victim, according to local media.

The migrants, 14 of them women, came from at least four countries, including Honduras, El Salvador, Brazil and Ecuador. They were found bound and blindfolded by the wall of a barn after navy personnel stormed the ranch on Tuesday.

"I told him not to go, but he went," said one of his seven brothers, Luis Alfredo. His 17-year-old pregnant wife Maria said she had received a call a few weeks ago from Guatemala, indicating all that was well.

Border security is essential to our national security. Part of this means that we take away the incentive to come here in the first place. Banks have security measures because there is a lot of money there. Your local 7-11 solves this by having less than $50 in the cash register.

If America can take away the jobs, the welfare, the Mexican independence day celebrations, the ability to drop anchor babies and our governments endless desire to pander to people who are not legal residents then we will have fewer border crossings.

Fewer crossings means a border that is easier to monitor and secure.

Not all democrats are criminals but all criminals are democrats

Robbers don't feel that you deserve to keep the money that you earn.
Neither do liberals.

Burglars don't feel that your private property belongs to you.
Neither do liberals.

Murderers don't value life.
Neither do liberals.

Criminals don't feel that they should be locked up.
Liberals don't think that criminals should be locked up either.

Thieves think that they deserve stuff that you earned and they didn't.
So do liberals.

Criminals think that the police aren't catching people because they commit crimes but must be victimizing the downtrodden.
So do liberals.

Criminals believe that some laws don't need to be followed.
So do liberals.

Criminals don't want responsible citizens to be able to shoot back.
Neither do liberals.

Criminals are a plague on our society.
So are liberals.

Oregon Firearms Federation alert

I don't usually pass on alerts from groups that I belong to but this one is just too good. OFF alert as follows:

Portland's Mayor ...Pathetic Media Whore

Portland's disgraced Mayor, and self admitted liar, Sam Adams, having apparently run out of teen boys to "mentor" has turned his sights (such as they are) on firearms.

In a press release issued today, timed so most local pro-gun talk show hosts had wrapped up for the week, Adams proposed sweeping new anti-gun regulations for the City of Portland.

Adams, whose predilection for underage lovers follows in the footsteps of Neil Goldschmidt (a mentor of anti-gun extremist Ginny Burdick) is asking for comments on his proposals, which would violate Oregon law. The law follows:

166.170 State preemption. (1) Except as expressly authorized by state statute, the authority to regulate in any matter whatsoever the sale, acquisition, transfer, ownership, possession, storage, transportation or use of firearms or any element relating to firearms and components thereof, including ammunition, is vested solely in the Legislative Assembly. (2) Except as expressly authorized by state statute, no county, city or other municipal corporation or district may enact civil or criminal ordinances, including but not limited to zoning ordinances, to regulate, restrict or prohibit the sale, acquisition, transfer, ownership, possession, storage, transportation or use of firearms or any element relating to firearms and components thereof, including ammunition. Ordinances that are contrary to this subsection are void. [1995 s.s. c.1 §1]

In his press release, Adams actually brags about being a "founding member" of New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg's "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" an organization that is comical in its mindless pursuit of new gun restrictions each time their heavily restricted cities has a shooting...in spite of their gun restrictions.

We think it's safe to say that this latest PR stunt will backfire, just like everything else this sorry, freedom-hating loser has done. But anything can happen in Portland. So keep your powder dry.

I would also note that the comments at Mayor Pedophiles press release page are priceless!

State worker profile: Cynthia Velasquez Bogert

Cynthia Velasquez Bogert, Glenfair’s bilingual school psychologist
Because of her bilingualism, Velasquez Bogert has become a central fixture in meetings between teachers and Spanish-speaking parents, and in classrooms with newly immigrated students. At this school, more than 85 percent of students speak a language other than English at home. Immigrant and/or refugee students make up a majority of the school’s population. She says the diversity is what draws her to this community, in particular. But there are un-expected goodbyes — she’s had students attend school on Friday and then their family will be detained or deported over the week-end, she says. “We have learned to just let go, and know we did the best we could do during the time we had with them in school.”

3 cheers for illegal aliens being deported over the weekend and their kids no longer taking up our resources!

She’s helped undocumented students (who are ineligible for the Oregon Health Plan because of immigration status) access community health clinics to replace their eyeglasses or get their required immunizations.

Community health clinics = taxpayer funded health care. The United States is just doing the medical jobs that Mexico won't do.

“When I interview kids as part of testing, if I know they weren’t born here in the U.S., I always ask about their journey. I call it the “trip” – whether it was crossing and going over a fence, or coming on a plane – they all have amazing stories about their journeys of physically getting here to this point, and what it was like and what they remember and what they miss about where they came from.”

You can call breaking into our country a "trip" but that's like calling a bank robbery a "withdrawal."

When politicians talk about eduction funding these are the people that get supported. It's not the teacher who does math, it is the Spanish speaking psychologist who helps illegal aliens get social services. My new battle cry is: cut education funding by 20% and let's see what happens!

I wouldn't put money in that collection plate

Two local programs awarded national anti-poverty grants
The U.S. Catholic Church's national anti-poverty initiative has awarded two Oregon programs with grants totaling $75,000.

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development has given $35,000 to a Forest Grove farmers market run by Adelante Mujeres and $40,000 to a Portland workers' rights project called VOZ.

VOZ is a worker-led organization of day laborers that develops leadership and empowers members to build relationships with employers. This happens through educational workshops and dispelling stereotypes about day laborers.

The campaign grant will help fund monthly leadership workshops, a day laborer advocacy and educational campaign; a day labor leadership school and the Day Labor Committee and Action for Immigration Reform.

If you are Catholic it's up to you to decide what your contributions to the church are going to be but you should know that your money is going to illegal alien advocacy groups that are pushing for amnesty.

They can't read but they can recycle

The Oregon Environmental Literacy Task Force will meet on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. The meeting will be held in Room 251A on the second floor of the Public Service Building, 255 Capitol Street NE, Salem OR.

HB 2544, also known as the "No Child Left Inside Act," created the 11-member Oregon Environmental Literacy Task Force. The Task Force is charged with developing the Oregon Environmental Literacy Plan and reporting back to the Legislature by October 1, 2010.

Another meeting of public servants who will endlessly discuss how to "secure funding" for future meetings such as this.

Ultimately they hope to indoctrinate our children, not just waste taxpayer funds. These meetings are open to the public...

Real statesmen

Web watchdog spots unusual congressional gaffe
t was supposed to be some routine election-year largesse from Democrats: a $26 billion spending measure to aid two of the party's core constituencies, labor unions, and government workers.

But a watchdog Web site on Sunday evening spotted an unusual feature of the legislation, which the Senate approved by a 61-to-39 vote last week.

It doesn't actually have a name. Congress' official Web site calls it the "______Act of____" (PDF). Elsewhere, it's referred to as the "XXXXXX Act of XXXX."

No one bothered to name the bill but I'm sure that they all bothered to read it...

It's that time of year again, wives everywhere are being ignored

And our Hall of Fame game has to feature two teams that I really want to root against. On one side you've got Chad Johnson (moron) and Terrel Owens (scumbag) and on the other you have Tony Romo and "America's Team" which really is Jerry "Skeletor" Jones' team.

And of course Brett "it's all about me" Favre is once again holding a team hostage to his "am I going to play" decision. I know that he really really really wants to pad that "most interceptions" record but it's time to hang it up.

Oh wait, he wants to keep that "most time showing up for work" record going. Does anyone else feel the need for accolades when they show up for work? And keep in mind that we are talking about working 16 times a year. Because we all know that he's too good to show up to training camp.

And you Seahawks fans who live in Oregon: I hate you most of all.

Go Home Team From the state that touches ours! is not a rallying cry! It's because of horrible fans like you that in week 14 Fox is broadcasting Seattle VS "some other worthless team that has no hopes of making the playoffs" rather than showing a game that actually matters.

Go Colts!

Publik skool math?

Portland schools keep fingers crossed awaiting Senate fund vote
Just when it appeared all hope had been lost, the U.S. Senate on Tuesday cleared a major hurdle toward approving a bill that will prevent mass teacher layoffs across Oregon and the rest of the country.

The Senate ended debate and set a vote Thursday afternoon on a bill that will provide $10 billion to keep teachers on the job, including $117 million for Oregon schools. Of that money, $6 million will go to Portland Public Schools, saving 64 teachers’ jobs.

Do the cheerleaders in the media bother to do the math on this? That's $93,750 per underpaid teacher who gets summers off, a week in spring, two weeks at Christmas (winter solstice) and every holiday known to man.

But we'll just keep our fingers crossed that all hope is not lost.

Portland racists show up in support of criminals

In photos:

A t-shirt that says "brown and proud" and she puts her kid behind imaginary jail bars. Way to go mom of the year!

This woman wishes sooo badly that she could wear a "brown and proud" t-shirt. Since she can't she will settle for self-loathing and a life where she won't ever smile. I would venture that I feel sorry for her husband but...

No... you look like a bum. You might consider that your public support isn't strong when you have the beggars put down their signs to hold up yours.
