Religion of Peace

Cleric demands cartoonists' death
Muslim cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed, banned from Britain for his radical views, has called for capital punishment for cartoonists who dare depict the Prophet Muhammad.

It would be nice to say that this is one lone radical but half of the muslim world is on fire right now and people are dying in riots.

If you haven't check the images Drudge has. One depicts a poster saying "Europe, take some lessons from 9/11." Oh and another one that says "Freedom, Go To Hell"

You're right they just want peace.

No word yet on the cleric's ruling on the Muslims who kidnap and behead westerners. Or those who kill other Muslims with bombs strapped to their chests or who drive explosive laden cars into crowded markets. Also, I'm still waiting for these "Religious Leaders" to condemn the right to practice christianity in places like Saudi Arabia (where even the mere posession of a Bible is a crime). Religion of peace my ass.

Get a load of this..
On November 1st, Major General Khalid al-Khulaywi of the Fahd Security College in Riyadh was interviewed on the Al-Arabiyah pan-Arab satellite network. He spoke critically of Zarqawi’s gangsters, those selfish greedy thieves who swore allegiance to Al-Qaida but act without permission or approval of the higher authorities. In addition to threatening the global jihad goals, Zarqawi’s brigands murder and torture anyone they can capture, such as those who are in the service of the diplomatic community at the request of the Iraqi people, and pretend they are engaged in actual military combat. “The number of Muslims he has killed in Iraq is hundreds of times greater than the Americans he has killed there,” said General al-Khulaywi.

And heres the link.

This whole mess was started by one radical unnamed cleric. It should be viewed as frightening, that such a frenzy can be whipped up by one radical; and that the Muslims of the world, can have their strings pulled so easily. Catholic preists murdered, diplomatic missions burned, because of a cartoon (even though it be in bad taste) is no justification for rampant acts of violence. Yet this religion, seems to be the instrument of violence, instead of peace.

Over on The Corner, they have a reference to this type of behaviour before - in 1971.

"an old army joke about the curious trousers worn by men in certain parts of the near East, ... and the British Council Library in Rawalpindi was burned to the ground."

Well, as we have been told time and again that Islam is a religion of peace, a noble religion that respects...blah, blah, blah...

Thats why there are events like this:

MANILA, Feb 3 (Reuters) - At least six people were killed on Friday when gunmen opened fire at a Christian home on a mainly Muslim island in the southern Philippines, an army general said.

Brigadier-General Alexander Aleo, an army commander, said the dawn shooting in Patikul town could be part of fresh efforts to foment Christian-Muslim conflict on the island of Jolo ahead of U.S. counter-terorrism drills late this month.

Aleo said three men, two women and an eight-month-old infant were killed in the attack. Six others, three of them children, survived the shooting with minor injuries.

“We don’t know the motive for the shooting,” Aleo said.

However, one of the victims told soldiers who rushed to the area that the gunmen had asked them whether they were Muslims or Christians before firing their weapons.

The R.O.P. coming to a city near you!

You don't honestly think Christians or Hindus incapable of mass mindless violence over trivial dogma, do you?

You all may not like my view on the situation with these "Muslims" but i say that when they start up this shit everytime they are disrespected, in their view, they should get what they give. I would like to see some of these "peaceful" ragheads murdered in the streets wherever they start trouble. They seem to have no trouble doing it to Western people...let's do the "turnabout is fair play" scene and start blowing some of them up. War is when both sides fight to win. Obviously the political correctness in this country is going to be the death of us. I say let's give them a little shit right back....if it's in this country then so be it!!!!

I like the way you think!

If you are going to deal with these radicals you have to play at their level. That may include ignoring political correctness.

To equate the kkk with Bible believing Christians is a weak argument.

On the night Jesus was arrested, Peter drew a sword and hacked at a roman in the crowd, and was admonished for doing so. [See the Gospel of John Chapter 18]

Jesus taught: "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you, and persecute you..."(Matthew 5:44)
Again we are taught, in the Book of Romans Chapter 11 verse 18 and following: "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge..." [remember the "piss christ" exibit, and the horrendus rioting and killing that went on after that? Never happened, did it? _Ed.] "...[F]or it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the LORD. On the contrary:
If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink." (verse 20)
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (verse 21)

So please, don't try to use for an example those who twist scripture to their own ends for violence and call themselves Christians; you are decieved if you would believe that the followers of Christ would behave in such a way.

And, as an afterthought, if the kkk are "Christians" why do they hate Jews when Jesus Himself is a Jew? [can you say "cognisant dissonance"?]

Keep learning, my young friend.

Afterthought #2

Having said all that, let me add that I can't find anything in the Bible that prevents a man from defending his own home and family against those who would invade and do violence to them.

Thomas - thank you for developing my point, which was that the Klan is no more a Christian organization than is the de facto Mosque of bin Laden, despite the overwhelming numbers both have claimed at their peaks.

Kaelri said...

(And of course, in my haste, I left out the "than the 'Mosque of bin Laden' is Islamic" bit, without which it seemed a bit tautological.)

You're exactly right, though.

Your welcome. I enjoyed our "talk". :>)

I'm glad that you are open-minded enough to listen, but you must admit the tone of your post: "You don't honestly think Christians or Hindus incapable of mass mindless violence over trivial dogma, do you?" could appear confrontational.

Or, maybe I'm just paranoid, and those guys following me around aren't out to get me!
