CAWEM: Another acronym for "citizens getting screwed"

Actually CAWEM stands for Citizen/Alien-Waived Emergency Medical.

Back when Rep Richardson was grilling DHS about illegal aliens he asked about CAWEM:

Question: What are the citizenship requirements for Citizen/Alien-Waived Emergent Medical (CAWEM) benefits and OHP Standard?

Answer: ... a noncitizen may not have any legal status (undocumented) with USCIS but may still be eligible for the CAWEM benefit.
SOURCE

But surely this can't be a huge problem right? Surely there aren't many illegal aliens taking advantage of this program right? Well let's compare October 2005:

OHP Standard (citizens) (at least in theory)
Number of enrolled:
MARION - 1,376
MULTNOMAH - 4,499
WASHINGTON - 1,169

Citizen Alien-Waived Emergency Medical (Illegal aliens)
Number of enrolled:
MARION - 3,166
MULTNOMAH - 5,358
WASHINGTON - 3,301

So the CAWEM folks far outnumber the citizens in three of the big counties in Oregon. What were you saying about the rising costs of health care Kulongoski?

Gas tax + Mileage fee = Us getting screwed

Oregon Department Of Transportation Mileage Fee Pilot Project Kicks Off With Volunteer Recruitment
The Oregon Department of Transportation launches its mileage fee pilot project in the Portland area this week with the recruitment of volunteers for the program. Administered by ODOT's Office of Innovative Partnerships, the mileage fee pilot project will test several key aspects of charging a per mile fee at the pump in lieu of paying the state gas tax.

The mileage fee pilot project is the result of research findings from Oregon's Road User Fee Task Force, or RUFTF, created by the Oregon Legislature in 2001 to investigate new ways of generating revenue for the state's transportation system.

By "new revenue" they mean "take more money from us." I have consulted with my all-knowing and all-powerful crystal ball this morning and it told me that we are actually going to end up with both a mileage tax and a gas tax.

This is so that in the future, instead of raising the gas tax by $0.50 and getting everyone angry they can raise it by $0.25 and then raise the mileage fee by $0.25 and for some reason the masses won't make the connection that they are getting charged the whole $0.50.

And notice that the mileage tax is called a "fee" so that politicians can say they aren't supporting a "tax." Next up: the surcharge, the assessment, the levy and then a bunch of charges that will only be reffered to in acronyms so that you aren't even sure what it is you are paying for. (actually what you are paying for is PERS and the "multi-cultural" HR employees.)

If you have a horse, you don't need a donkey

Contrary to what governor Kulongoski says, if you have one of these:

Or one of these:

Then you don't need one of these:

Kulongoski on Matricula card holders: "It would be wrong to assume that participants at these sessions are simply all undocumented persons; a great number of them are citizens and residents with legal immigrant status."

Daniel responds: If you are a "citizen" then you can't get one, if you have legal status then you have one of the top two cards issued by our government.

Tricky math

Noncitizens Eligibility for Food Stamps
The income of households with noncitizens is calculated differently based on their alien status. For noncitizens who are not qualified, e.g., foreign students, tourists, or people who are undocumented or who overstayed their visa, a certain share of income they contribute to the filing group is not included in the benefit calculation.

This seems to be very complex math but it looks as if benefits can be allocated to include the illegal alien as a recipient but not include their income when factoring how much a household will get.

Excerpt:
Step One:
Include the NC2 in the benefit group as if the person were eligible, i.e., code the person with an AD, HH, or CH, whichever is appropriate.

Note: Unqualified ineligible noncitizens are referred to as NC1: qualified ineligible noncitizens are referred to as NC2.

The bottom line is that if we have to have multiple formulas for illegal aliens, their cousins, their children, etc then maybe we have too many illegal aliens in this country.

The world doesn't revolve around her

Sen. Clinton: Rove Spends Time Obsessing About Me
Reacting to a new book quoting Karl Rove as saying she will be the 2008 Democratic nominee for president, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that President Bush's chief political strategist "spends a lot of time obsessing about me."

I agree. Let's stop calling her the nominee. I haven't seen a poll yet that is favorable to her and while I don't think that polls mean anything let's just give it a rest.

I don't need to hear Bush do his smirking "Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton" statements. I don't even understand what all the fuss is about, can Republicans please stop talking about her.

New Mac Johnson column

Voting in America: Free to Choose?
Suppose you want illegal immigration controlled? Which party is for that? The party of amnesty for cheap labor, or the party of amnesty for cheap votes?

Or what if you want government made smaller? Is that still the Republican platform, or have they shelved that goal while they create a $57 billion “Department of Limited Government” to study the issue at a series of earmarked laboratories built on artificial reefs located in each and every Congressional district in America?

Right now in Rhode Island, the national Republican Party is doing everything in its power to force Republican voters to re-elect unpopular Sen. Lincoln Chaffee, by actively campaigning against his Republican primary challenger, Steve Laffey. Rather than voters using the primary to tell the leadership who to support, the leadership is using the primary to tell the voters who to support. “Orwellian” is an overused word, but it applies here.

I blame Karl Rove for this one. He did the same thing with Arlen Specter. Campaign finance reform has only made it worse.

Kulongoski on the environment

Did evil corporations cause this mess? Did Halliburton do this? Might this be Dick Cheney's backyard?

Nope, this is the garbage left by those "hardworking" criminal aliens that Teddy Kulongoski loves so much. If you are concerned about litter, concerned about sprawl (I'm not but maybe you are) or concerned about the use of our natural resources then maybe you should be concerned with illegal immigration.

How about you Kulongoski?

ILLEGAL ALIEN SCHOOLCHILDREN
Issues in Estimating State-by-State Costs

Texas, Pennsylvania and North Carolina multiplied their states’ average current per pupil expenditures for the 1999–2000 school year by estimates of the number of illegal alien schoolchildren. Specifically:

Texas state government staff told us that they first obtained an estimate of the number of school-aged illegal alien children younger than 18 living in Texas, from a nongovernment organization.28 The Texas staff then multiplied this figure by the upper and lower bounds
of a range based on alternative assumptions about the percentages of such children attending public schools—66.8 to 74.8 percent.29

The annual cost estimates that they provided to us ranged from $50 million to $87.5 million in Pennsylvania to $932 million to $1.04 billion in Texas.31

So Texas spends over a billion dollars educating the children of illegal aliens. But I'm sure that even when you factor in the costs of locking up the criminal offenders, giving out social services and having a good portion of wages earned go south via Western Union that the criminal aliens contribute enough to the economy to make it "a wash."

Consider not having a country

Consider an open border with Mexico
In addition, as the Mexican consul general in Oregon properly pointed out, if some Mexican citizens add to the cost of the Pendleton jail, other Mexican citizens also add to the revenue of the government there by working in the economy, earning and spending money and paying taxes. So as far as the county and the state are concerned, the money angle is probably a wash.

By "it's probably a wash" he means "I have done no research on this issue whatsoever and I can't cite a single piece of evidence to back up my absurd claim."

Actual studies backed up by facts on "the money angle"
Illegal Immigration and the Federal Budget
Immigration Impact - Oregon

Notice how silly things like "footnotes" and actual "data" are used to prove a point rather than just silly claims of things being "a wash."

I can respect a well written opinion piece in opposition to my views but this one is just stupid. The author's name isn't listed but clearly he or she is not fit to use pen to write with as it is a sharp object and he/she could probably hurt himself/herself with it.

A product of Oregon

http://www.hippielawyer.com/
Portland Oregon Social Security Disability Attorney Lawyer and Civil Rights Advocate

As a kid I used to day dream (and still do) about mouthing off to authority figures, but in fact, I was a nerd and pansy ass that was petrified of saying jack shit.

I now live in Tennessee on a community called The Farm. See www.thefarmcommunity.com.

"I inhaled..."

Just had to put this guy out there. A product of Oregon, lives on a commune and really represents what it means to be in the National Lawyer Guild. Too funny.

Blowing hot air

State of the State: 'Wind is at our back'
Gov. Ted Kulongoski endorsed a major cigarette-tax increase Friday to pay for universal health care for children and youths.

Clearly cigarette taxes are the most stable of all tax bases. I mean, it's not as if there are major campaigns to get people to quit or anything.

In his annual State of the State speech, Kulongoski also proposed stipulating that one-fourth of all energy sold in Oregon come from renewable sources by the year 2025.

A bone thrown to the eco-freaks. Kulongoski will be long retired as governor when this "deadline" comes around.

Kulongoski used his State of the State speech at the aptly named Governor Hotel to highlight his accomplishments during three years as governor and to offer campaign promises if he wins another term. Those included new proposals to expand health insurance and alternative-energy production, plus a rehashing of his plan to stabilize and increase school funding.

His accomplishments apparently involve telling people about the first part of his State of the State speech.

As for the school funding, his "plan depends on revenue growing by more than 10 percent every two years, without any new sources of funding."

*sigh* Let me name the "sources of funding" that government has:

Taxpayers
Taxpayers
Taxpayers

That's it. They can take it in income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, cigarette taxes, gasoline taxes, cell-phone taxes, fees, fines, levies, surcharges, charges, adjustments or one of the many other ways they take money from us but there is only one "source" of this money.

Take a look at your electric bill, phone bill, water bill. All have taxes, charges, and fees that go to government. State officials see this as a different "source" than the money they take out of your paycheck. But it only means that you have less money to work with every month.

Another shocker

Tenn. Halts Immigrant Driving Certificates
Tennessee stopped issuing driving certificates to illegal immigrants Friday after investigators learned out-of-state applicants were using fake papers and bribes to get cards.

Wait a minute, hold the phone, stop the presses. I don't understand, criminals were committing more crimes? You mean... you can't give extra benefits to criminals without them taking advantage of you?

I am just shocked. Shocked I tell you. Honestly, what is this world coming to. I mean, if you can't trust criminals to be honest then who can you trust?

2 charged in arson at Oregon tree farm
A man and a woman from Washington were indicted Thursday in a 2001 arson at an Oregon tree farm that has been blamed on radical environmentalists.

Joyanne Zacher, 28, and Nathan Fraser Block, 24, both of Olympia, made a brief first appearance Thursday in U.S. District Court in Tacoma after a federal grand jury in Eugene, Ore., returned two separate 14-count indictments against them.

They are charged with 12 counts of arson and one count of attempted arson involving farm buildings and trucks at a poplar-tree farm in Clatskanie, Ore., that they incorrectly believed was practicing genetic engineering, according to the indictment.

That's just funny. The message here: Kids, don't smoke pot! It makes you stupid.

Measuring our progress: Then and Now

The fight against illegal immigration seems like an uphill battle. It seems like every day another public official (or candidate) take a position contrary to ours and another government program is created to make life easier for criminal aliens.

It almost makes you want to give up and just learn Spanish.

Take heart, we are winning this war. The best example I have are three news articles: One from March 6, 2005, the next from September 25, 2005 (both from the same reporter) and then one from February 12, 2006.

The first has a byline that says: Almost 2,000 people line up at a mobile Mexican Consulate in Salem

The most recent one has the headline: Protesters target session for Mexican immigrants

Waiting for documentation
Estevan Garcia Neri, 62, and four nephews were there for matricular consular cards, necessary to cash payroll checks and obtain driver's licenses.

The men arrived at the school at 2 a.m. and were surprised to find that there already was a line at the door -- a door that wouldn't be opening for eight more hours.

"We're walking hand-in-hand with the consulate," said Ana Gomez, a DMV transportation services representative. "We're here because I know that's what they're here for."

At the neighboring table, Stan Wojtyla, a compliance specialist with the Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries, said his role was education and enforcement of labor laws.

He said the wage claims, which are printed in English and Spanish, have increased in the home-construction industry in recent years.

The first article is a combination of "human interest stories" and an explanation of the "wonderful" help that criminal aliens are getting from the consulate and the state of Oregon

Just a few months later:
Peaceful protests don't stop immigrant program
Protesters peacefully carried signs and sang ballads about the blight of illegal immigration Saturday during an event put on by the Mexican government.

The president of OFIR, Jim Ludwick, said the group's goal was to make Oregonians aware of the state's accommodation of illegal immigrants.

"We're not protesting the Mexican consul general, but the state agencies, especially the Oregon Department of Employment," he said. "Why are they here?"

"They are selling drugs to our kids and raping our kids," said Daniel Miglavs of Sherwood. "Our public officials, our state employees, are in there right now aiding and abetting them."

He defended his statement by waving a stack of papers that showed the high rate of incarceration for Hispanics in Oregon.

The story now changed, it is a bit more about the anger that this abomination caused among us protestors.

I would also note:
Mexico's Consul General for Oregon, Fernando Sánchez Ugarte, said this is the fourth time that the outreach program has drawn protesters.

Sánchez said there is no plan to eliminate or scale back the program, quite the contrary.

"Next year, we'll be increasing the number of events," he said. "There's a lot of demand."
See this post

This year:
Protesters target session for Mexican immigrants
Anti-immigration activists rallied Saturday in Eugene to oppose providing state social services to noncitizens and to criticize the Mexican consulate for issuing identification cards to immigrants.

The protest coincided with the presence of Mexican government representatives who were at the High School Equivalency Program building on the University of Oregon campus to assist people seeking a matricula consular - Mexico's identification card. The card is used to open bank accounts and to obtain a driver's license.

"I don't think it's right for people to come here and step in front of line," said Daniel Miglavs of Sherwood, a spokesman for Oregonians for Immigration Reform. The group, based in McMinnville, formed six years ago to call attention to the economic, social and environmental costs of uncontrolled immigration.

Lopez said protesters were intimidating applicants by filming them as they entered and left the building.

The article is 100% about our protest of this event. (albeit with a compassionate spin for the other side) No longer can the consulate have a carousel and get a fluff piece from the press. We are there to make sure that the true nature of this is represented. We are there to make sure that "applicants" are uncomfortable. We are there so that Consul General Fernando can eat his words about expanding the program this year.

Read that first article again and realize that we have come a long way in this state. For those of you who have participated and offered support, thank you. For those of you who are interested in helping us make a difference in the future: Contact Oregonians for Immigration Reform.

Thursday night jokes

With all the humorous posts and even funnier responses I think that a joke night is in order:

Q: What's the difference between a Democrat and a catfish?
A: One is an ugly, scum sucking bottom-feeder and the other is a fish.

Q: What do you get when you cross a pilgrim with a democrat?
A: A god-fearing tax collector who gives thanks for what other people have.

You Might Be A Democrat If...

You believe that a few hundred loggers can find another career, but the defenseless spotted owl must live in its preferred tree.

You actually expect to collect Social Security.

You think the Free Market is where they hand out Government cheese.

You'd rather own Birkenstock than Merck Stock.

Absolutely hilarious - Dear Blue States:

Even funnier - Politically Correct Little Red Riding Hood

And finally - Kim Jong Ill's diary

I couldn't make this stuff up

We all had a good laugh with the "Bush conspiracy theory generator" from a few posts down. It's funny because it came up with wacky things that really do sound like a liberal would say it.

But BlueOregon, the folks who try to keep black people from voting, (I keep saying it so it must be true) have outdone even that.

They solicit "progressive" ideas and the one to "reform" the police is absolutely hilarious!

Excerpts:
Within the State of Oregon, no regular police officer would be allowed to carry a weapon with the potential to take a life.

Also, cops should not be allowed to engage in traffic enforcement unless it's in a direct response to a citizen complaint.

Finally, cops would be required to use bicycles and foot patrols in urban areas for more than 50% of the force on patrol...

If you think that crime is bad in Portland now just wait until these ideas get implemented. It would be funnier if these people weren't actually so dangerous.

Our fearless leader

From Theodore "bowling for illegals" Kulongoski:

“State agencies that participate in the information sessions coordinated by the Mexican consulate do not participate in order to provide benefits to individuals who do not qualify for such benefits. Rather, state agencies, along with local and non-profit agencies, participate in these sessions in order to serve a growing, underserved and vulnerable population – non-English-speaking immigrants from Latin American nations and their families.

Kulongoski, you are a liar, stupid, or misinformed. Only Mexican citizens can participate in this event. That's why it's put on by the Mexican consulate not the Latin American consulate. (No such thing)

It would be wrong to assume that participants at these sessions are simply all undocumented persons; a great number of them are citizens and residents with legal immigrant status.

If you don't ask then HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY ARE LEGAL? You must be a Mexican citizen, if you have documents to legally be here then you go to the DMV with those documents, you don't need a matricula consular card.

With that in mind, the State of Oregon is engaged in various efforts to reach out to underserved communities in our state – including participation in the Carrousel of Information coordinated by the Mexican consulate. I intend to continue with such efforts because I believe it is the right thing to do for all Oregonians.”

And that's why we won't re-elect you.

HAT TIP: Dawn Phillips, legislative staff member, doing work for Reps Krummel, Thatcher, Flores, and Greg Smith. The legislators she works for are very involved in legislative efforts to ensure that illegal immigrants are not being offered state benefits to which they're not entitled

I'm not satisfied with the status quo

I'm not satisfied with just the retreat from Salem. I'm not satisfied with slightly fewer criminal aliens getting sham ID's and taxpayer services. I'm not satisfied with the status quo.

The status quo means that we still have millions of illegal aliens in this country. The status quo means that the Mexican consulate in Portland meets with DHS "to continue with the diffusion strategy on the benefits of stamps of food for the members of the community that describe." (translation)

The status quo means that DMV still accepts the Matricula Consular card as valid ID.

We have a great victory today with Mexico's retreat from Salem but it would be foolish to sit back and be satisfied with it. It's time to push back. The reason we won this victory was that we made a media spectacle out of the carousel of crime.

The status quo depends on everyone knowing what is going on but no one really talking about it. We made people talk about it. We need to keep people talking about it.

We need to go to Portland and protest the Mexican Consulate. We need to be there in large numbers. We need to be loud. We need to be forceful. We need to show our fellow citizens that we can talk about this problem.

We need to tell our elected officials that we are not going to tolerate DHS giving "a bilingual video that will be transmitted in the reception and waiting room of the Consulate" to a foreign government.

We will not tolerate DMV sitting down with Fernando to discuss the Real ID act. (on the consulate website it is translated as the YOU GO Act.)

I don't want to wait for the consulate to decide if they are going to have another carousel of crime, the next move should be ours. We can win if we keep up the pressure! Remember the retreat at Salem!

Let me finish by thanking Allen of Salem, Cheezer, Gullyborg, Oregon Conservative, Oregon Billboard, CSI:Oregon, Vonski, Eugene Rant, Lars Larson, Victoria Taft, Oregonians for Immigration Reform, Michael at Citizen Caucus and I'm probably forgetting some right now so remind me please. These are just the people with websites, this doesn't include the folks who have diligently shown up to all the protests and who helped make them the media spectacle that they are.

Oh and thank you Fernando and the Mexican Consulate, you blinked first.

Hoooooray!

Oregonians for Immigration Reform:
CAROUSEL EVENT CANCELED !!!

We just received word this morning from the Oregon Department of Administrative Services that the Carousel of Information program scheduled this Saturday in Salem HAS BEEN CANCELED BY THE MEXICAN CONSULAR OFFICE.

It is pretty easy to speculate as to the reason for the cancellation - we are making a difference !!!

Please contact anyone who you know might have been planning on going to Saturday's protest.

Great job by everyone !!!!
Jim Ludwick
Oregonians for Immigration Reform

Bwa hahahahahahahahahaha. While part of me thinks that this might be a clever ruse I am inclined to believe this. The Consulate has realized that we are making a media spectacle out of this and he doesn't want the attention. Thanks to all of you who have participated in these events! You HAVE made a difference.

This means that many criminal aliens will not be getting social serivces or ID so they can continue their criminal activities with the help of Oregon government.

At the last protest I told Consul Fernando Sanchez Ugarte that this would be the last year that he would be able to host these abominations. Turns out that it might have been the last time ever if we can keep up the pressure.

Fernando's response: A smug "We'll see."

Now, if you will humor me in my admittedly childish behavior (it's so hard to practice the art of exagerrated politeness at these events when I am burning with rage on the inside, I think that I deserve this) please send Consul Fernando an email.

Put his name (Consul Fernando Sanchez Ugarte) in the subject line and make the message simply "No Carousel? Daniel told you so."
portland@sre.gob.mx

Also, check out this great storyboard style post on the last protest. It is hilarious!

Fair and balanced

Google news has 110 articles related to the Measure 37 ruling yesterday. Most have a headline of "Oregon Property Rights Upheld."

However two papers have very different headlines: (click to enlarge picture)

The Salem Statesmen Journal has these three:

Mixed opinions greet court's land-use ruling
Measure 37 legal interpretations remain unresolved
High court doesn't address Measure 37's reach

While The Oregonian has this one:
Court clears the way for 37 kinds of damage

Now I'm not a lawyer but I think that once the Supreme Court decides something that the "legal intrepretations" are no longer "unresolved." As for "mixed opinions" there is nothing that will ever be unanimous but 67% is pretty damn close in politics.

As for the state's largest Fishwrapper, what can I say: They hate everyone who doesn't live in the Pearl District.

Why Oregon is a magnet state

Matricular Consular Cards Vs. Immigration Documents
The Matricular Consular Identification Card has been a general project of the Mexican Government since 2003. At last count, 47 Mexican Consulate Offices within the United States had issued several million of these cards. The Government of Mexico is probably aware of the exact number of cards issued.

A Mexican birth certificate and thirty dollars is the only requirement. False as well as valid birth certificates are never in short supply.

A Matricular Consular Identification only establishes that the bearer under whatever name he or she cares to use is “without documents” and illegally residing in the United States.

Oregon DMV: Primary Documents (Age & Identity Proof)

This article is full of more examples of how this sham ID is being used fraudulently. Everyone seems to know it but Kulongoski and Lorna Youngs.

Making the rounds

DeFAZIO Op-Ed: Oregon Representative Peter DeFazio on Immigration
America has a proud heritage as a beacon for the dispossessed and oppressed around the world, who come here for a shot at achieving their dreams. However, a nation that does not control its own borders is not secure. We need to know who is coming into our country, and we must keep out people who are not authorized to enter. With 500,000 or more individuals entering illegally every year, the status quo is not acceptable.

I am not convinced there is a labor shortage that requires the importation of 550,000 or more guest workers every year, as envisioned by the McCain-Kennedy immigration reform bill, which also allows family members to come along, doubling or tripling the number of new arrivals. To the extent there may be shortages in particular industries, employers could increase wages and improve working conditions to attract legal workers. Only after improving wages and working conditions and proving that no Americans are available for the job should an employer be able to recruit guest workers.

First it ran in the Oregonian and now in the MedfordNews. I hope that this excellent column hits every paper in Oregon. He is right on!

How can we ever repay him?

Governor Kulongoski's Legislative Accomplishments
This legislative session Governor Kulongoski continued the progress of his administration by making critical investments in economic development through non-highway transportation projects...
screech. Stop right there. Do MOST Oregonians support the "non-actual traffic" projects? No.

...the Governor dedicated $100 million in non-highway transportation projects including rail, aviation, marine and transit systems to improve congestion...
screech. Important to define this: By "improve" congestion liberals mean "make it worse so people will stop driving cars and join the commune."

Other things he crows about:

Combating Global Warming - Fighting something that doesn't exist makes you a crazy person, not a leader.

Updating Oregon’s Land-Use System - The people did this with Measure 37, a measure that you opposed governor.

Fighting Methamphetamine - You outsourced meth production to Mexico and increased imports exponentially. Six in one, half dozen in the other.

There is no signature piece in his list. Even Kitzhaber had his failed health care plan as a centerpiece. But no Theodore, he has simply stood by and done nothing to protect our children from sexual predators (David Wu...) and continued to make Oregon an attractive state for illegal aliens. What a failure.

Now this is funny

Now, Muslims are not normally a people to congregate in mass protest and burn flags, hurl stones or break things. But this unprovoked act of cultural aggression (coming, as it did, out of the blue and occurring in Islam’s heartland, Denmark) was simply too much to take. Therefore, after five months of consideration, it was decided to make an exception for this case, and spontaneous protests broke out.

This is one of the best columns that I have read on the much-columnized (not a real word) situation of the cartoon pictures of Mohommed. (I spelled it wrong on purpose, cut my head off you savages)

Read it and laugh, read it and realize how dead serious it really is.

Kulongoski hates kids

Family Watchdog
Unfortunately, Oregon does not currently publicize the registered sex offenders living within the state. Consequently, we are unable to provide any information about Oregon's sex offender population.

In discussions with Oregon state officials, we learned that Oregon does plan to provide a web-based registry of its sex offenders. Their planned implementation date is July 1, 2006.

We will eagerly await the introduction of Oregon's online sex offender registry. As soon as Oregon data is available, we will provide it to Family Watchdog visitors.

So Kulongoski went three years without "putting children first" when it comes to their safety. The only reason we have a sex offender registry even coming is thanks to my representative Jerry Krummel (and others) who put together a bill to establish one.

But this is something that I believe could have been done by executive order or simply a directive to the Department of Corrrections. Kulongoski failed Oregon's children.

(The title of this post is going to be my continued play on Randy Leanard's favorite accusation towards conservatives, if you catch him on Lars' show you know what I'm talking about)

Oregon: We love illegal aliens

DMV forgery acquittals follow string of guilty pleas
Prosecutors were optimistic going into court against three Hillsboro brothers accused of helping thousands of nonresidents fraudulently obtain Oregon driver's licenses.

Eight others in Oregon's biggest immigration fraud case already had pleaded guilty to a collection of charges, including racketeering and forgery. And many of those were lined up to testify against Miguel, Fabio and Sergio Robleto, who prosecutors said were the brains behind a scheme run from the brothers' driver training and testing businesses.

But on Tuesday, a Washington County judge closed cases against Fabio and Sergio Robleto after finding them not guilty of all charges. A different judge acquitted Miguel Robleto in November.

Others who pleaded guilty said they brought illegal immigrants from other states to the two schools, helped them fill out driver's license applications with phony information and took them to Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services offices to have the documents certified.

The important part in this whole story is in that paragraph: "they brought illegal immigrants from other states." You can't get away with this garbage in other states. Only Oregon is so friendly to illegal aliens.

The $10,000 question

First poet laureate in years is named
Gov. Ted Kulongoski has named Lawson Inada of Medford to a two-year appointment as the poet laureate of Oregon.

Inada will be the fifth such appointment and the first poet to be so honored since William Stafford served in the position, which he left in 1990.

Christine D'Arcy, the executive director of the Oregon Arts Commission, said it is notable that Inada is a Japanese American and a person of color, a first for this position.

Oregon's statewide cultural agencies, the Oregon Arts Commission, Oregon Council for the Humanities, Oregon Historical Society, Oregon Heritage Commission and State Preservation Office, designated new funding from the Oregon Cultural Trust to support a first-time, $10,000 annual stipend for the laureate.

As much as $10,000 in additional funds will support the laureate's work and travel across the state.

Ok, so that should be the $20,000 question but anyways, let me take a crack at this liberal style:

Homeless people are freezing on the street, working families don't have health care, junkies are in desperate need of clean needles, and the PERS pension of retired school administrators needs to be funded, why on earth are we paying a poet $20,000 to "give as many as six public readings" across the state?

Watch Ted come out of the closet

Kulongoski Loses Multnomah Co. Dems Support
In a Saturday vote, the Multnomah County Democratic Commission decided who to endorse in the May primary.

The commission made a surprising choice in the governors race, endorsing Pete Sorensen and Jim Hill.

When support from the environmentalists was slipping Teddy K came out with tailpipe emission standards. Perhaps in response to him losing support from Multnomah County he will claim to be gay.

I have been seeing this "ROP" garbage floating around lately. If the ag business wants to align itself with the communists at PCUN then fine, how about we suggest they vote democrat. Enjoy paying the "livable" wage, the regulations, and not actually picking any crops because plants have feelings and mother earth (Gaia?) doesn't want you to hurt her children.

I'm really get tired of farmers thinking that they can call themselves a Republican consituency but at the same time they want to organize the socialists and anarchists in Portland to rally against what is popular with the Republican base.

Hey look, the "conservative" rural farming boys have the same slogan as Portland Peaceful Response.

And they seem to agree with the commie group that calls America facist.

DOJ: It's all the nonminorities fault

Forenote to Nonminority Readers
Nonminorities have brought about many of the problems that minorities encounter and are discussed in this report. Addressing these problems, and ultimately solving them, is the joint responsibility of nonminorities and minorities.

Huh? This is from a "task force to scare judges into giving lesser sentences to people because of their skin color." (TFSJIGLSPBTSC)

What is their problem?

Many of the problems recounted in this report stem from cultural differences between minorities and nonminorities. The dominant culture of this state and nation is reflected in its courts. Largely nonminority judges and court staff do not understand the cultures of minorities who appear in the courts.

How about this: Person commits crime = person goes to jail NO MATTER WHAT THEIR DAMN CULTURE IS.

Conversely, minorities—many of whom come from countries with different justice systems—do not understand the Oregon courts in which they appear. This lack of understanding is not limited to minorities who speak little or no English. It is just as pervasive in Native-American and African-American cultures, in which English is the dominant language.

This is absolutely the funniest statement ever. They talk about "people who come from different countries" and then refer to Native Americans and black people as if they weren't born here.

Bottom line:
All nonminorities involved in the justice system—judges, court staff, lawyers, law school professors and law students—need ongoing, cross-cultural training. Nonminorities have contributed to most of the problems facing minorities today. Nonminorities must recognize that problems exist; nonminorities must address them with resolve and sensitivity.

So start feeling some white guilt and let some criminals get away with their crimes.

Moving forward

Judging by the response to my "vote for Atkinson" post where I explained my decision to get back on board with that candidate, and judging by the continued emails and continued posts on other fine blogs and their comments, we have a problem.

Let me explain how I am going to proceeding from here. (It won't be different from how I have been dealing with this "situation.")

1. I am going to think my position through carefully. You saw that I dropped my support for a very fine candidate after the "Thursday episode" and a week and a half later I decided to continue to support Atkinson. Understand that I gave it a lot of thought, it is a honestly held position.

2. I am not going to insist that people who choose to support another Republican candidate are the devil. I am not going to come up with wild conspiracy theories about why they support their candidate. I will try to convince them that Atkinson is the best man for the job but I will do it respectfully and with facts that I can back up.

3. In keeping with number two I am going to do my best to not burn bridges or say things that I will regret later on. While many of use seem to be on opposite sides right now we will all (hopefully) be pulling for the same guy in the general election. We will be collecting signatures on the same ballot initiatives, attending the same meetings, and fighting for the same causes. I don't think that I ruined any friendships from through this ordeal and I don't intend to.

4. I will absolutely point out any candidate's faults. I don't believe in any "11th commandment" when it comes to someone running for public office. But, I will always source my info and have a genuine complaint. However, I will take the candidate as a whole and I will support the Republican in November. (Just as all three candidates have pledged to do)

5. I will continue to fight for the individual issues that I believe in whether that be illegal immigration, abortion, gay marriage, property rights, whatever. I think that we all feel the same about these issues.

6. I have decided to become a woman. I have an operation scheduled for next week. The new name of this site with be Danielleisright.blgospot.com.

7. Just kidding.

8. I will concede a good point when one is made and then move on. You can tell me what Atkinson said on immigration like I haven't heard it before but it's not going to do a thing. I like his positions the best out of all three candidates who all support guest worker programs. At the same time, when you quote him I am not going to try to explain away what he said. I can't argue with direct quotes and won't try to. When I point out another candidates fault, with ample evidence, concede it and move on. (you should also re-evaluate your position but that doesn't mean that it will change)

9. I will somehow make it to ten on this list because it just seems like I should. You know, to have a nice round number.

10. I am going to expect my candidate to do a damn good job when he gets elected. If your [Republican] candidate gets elected then I'm going to expect him to do a damn good job. I will hold him accountable for the promises he has made, the changes we expect and some good results for the families who live in Oregon.

11. (Thought of another) Not voting is not an option. I will not "stay home" for the election. Since I am going to vote for one of the three gubernatorial candidates I have to pick the best one. And since I share my opinions about everything around here I am going to publicly support the candidate that I will vote for. That is Jason Atkinson.

Illegal-alien offenders flout U.S. justice system
When Carlos Ornelas, owner of Colorado Spring's largest Mexican marketplace, was dragged from his car by four thugs last November, beaten, pistol-whipped and threatened with death unless his family paid an $80,000 ransom, he couldn't have know that one of his accosters was an illegal alien who was supposed to be in Mexico, having been finally deported by the Colorado courts after his fourth known crime.

Colorado's courts and jails are already straining from the increase in the state's illegal immigrant population and related crime. In El Paso County, illegals typically account for close to 10 percent of the inmate population, said Makata.

Just more evidence of the problem. What should we do about it? Hey I know, let's start talking about a "guest worker" program!! We could even start funding it right now instead of working to properly secure the border and get some real interior enforcement! [sarcasm]

Senate Republicans Request Your Ideas for the 2007 Legislative Session

Ferrioli is asking Oregonians from all over the state to submit their ideas about what Oregon must do to move forward. Those ideas do not necessarily need to result in new laws, they could be about removing obstacles that get in the way a positive change for the state.

Saturday morning joke

The Pope took a couple of days off to visit Alaska.

He was cruising along in the Pope Mobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge of the woods. A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a "Save the Whales" / "Bush Lied" T-shirt and a tree hugger hat, was screaming while struggling frantically, thrashing around trying to free himself from the jaws of a 10 foot grizzly.

As the Pope watched horrified, a group of Republican loggers came racing up. One quickly fired a 44 magnum into the bear's chest. The other two reached up and pulled the bleeding semiconscious Democrat from the bear's grasp. Then using long clubs, the three loggers finished off the bear and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck while the other tenderly placed the injured Democrat in the back seat.

As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them to come over. "I give you my blessing for your brave actions!" he told them. "I heard there was a bitter hatred between Republican loggers and Democratic environmental activists, but now I've seen with my own eyes that this is not true."

As the Pope drove off, one of the loggers asked his buddies "Who was that guy?"

"It was the Pope", another replied, "He's in direct contact with God and has access to all God's wisdom."

"Well," the logger said, "he may have access to all God's wisdom but he sure doesn't know anything about bear hunting!"

"By the way, is the bait holding up or do we need to go back to town and grab another one?"

Friday night freakshow

I have a folder on my computer called "blog pics." (with subfolders for the various consulate protest pics) This is getting to be a rather large collection of some really bizzare pictures.

Many of these have been in various posts, some have never been published, all are pretty good.

So time for a little picture show:

Don't think I ever published this one. It's a "safe" zone at PCC. (A safe zone means that it's normal to be a man named Michael who wants to cut off his penis and be called Michelle but it's not normal to be a Christian.)

Good old MECHA with your "take more" slogans... what would we do without you.

Senator Morrisette with a bong in his mouth. He attended some wacky marijuana rally.

Reps Nolan and Rosenbaum with "the right men" from the time they went to a strip club to celebrate abortion.

This is taxpayer funded art. Yes, it really is art. No I can't "prove it," you just have to know that it is.

And this is my dog. Notice how she sits. She seems to be under the impression that dogs have "knees" because she likes to bend her front legs when she sits down. She is also slouched to one side and really sitting on her butt. Strange dog...

Do it for the kids

Job title: Aluminum acquisition and reconditioning supervisor

Actual job: Bum who picks up empty pop cans.

Such is the way of government job titles. No only are an endless amount of jobs created that have overlapping duties (you get long breaks when you are in a union) but apparently almost every employee needs their own supervisor/manager or in the case of schools, superintendent.

Why someone needs to be supervised why they are playing solitaire (away from public eyes) or making the public miserable (think DMV) is beyond me.

This is the job title list for the Hillsboro school district.

Tell me if you think we are a little top heavy:

The supers:
Superintendent
Deputy Superintendent Supp Svcs
Assoc. Superintendent Supp Svcs
Assoc Superintendent of Govern Relations
Asst Superintendent Supt. K-12

The directors:
Executive Director of Personnel/Labor Relations
Executive Director - School Improvement
Director - School Improvement
Exec Dir Curriculum Instr
Dir Spec Programs
Dir Communications
Dir Curr & Staff Development
Dir Instr and Media Services
Dir Licensed Personnel
Dir Operations - Elem
Dir Operations - Secondary
Dir Facilities, Planning & Property
Dir Admin Services
Dir of Transportation
Dir Instr & Eval
Dir of Construction Management

And I haven't even started on the "managers" and "supervisors" yet. So where do the "teachers" fit into all this? Do the kids really need an Executive Director and a regular Director of School Improvement so that they can learn to read, write and do math?

And is anyone willing to argue that the kids need a Hispanic Community Outreach Worker or they just won't learn? WARNING: When you read the actual job description you may experience nausea

Before we continue with a conversation about school funding we need to talk about whether or not additional funds are really "for the kids."

What? The commune doesn't pay the bill?

Breaking news!

Has anybody heard that Dick Cheney apparently shot someone in a hunting accident? Why isn't this being reported? Has the media come under the control of the military-industrial complex or something?

If you can find a link to this story please send it to me, I need to hear the details.

I guess you have to have your priorities though...

Maybe we could try some of their corruption as well

Deal gives Oregon access to Mexican curriculum
This school year, Reynolds School District signed on to the Oregon-Mexico Educational Partnership, an agreement between Oregon and Mexico that makes Mexico's national curriculum available.

Educators have charted how Mexico's curriculum aligns with Oregon's educational standards so teachers can be sure they're offering materials to immigrant students that fit the state's goals.
Our curriculum standards align with Mexico's? How pathetic is that!

"A kid who comes from Mexico who's doing calculus can keep going in calculus," says teacher Dale Bernardini, who's overseeing the district's entry into the partnership. "He doesn't have to go to Math 1 just because he doesn't understand the language."

Yes Mr. Bernardini, I'm sure that the Spanish speaking kids will do so well getting a job with that knowleged of calculus but not being able to speak English.

This Oregon-Mexico education boondogle is something that I have been whining about for quite some time. It's part of the "education service district" fraud that wastes school money.

Excerpts:
Senor Manrrique also spoke to the benefits to Mexican citizens in the US federal prison system who can get their education while incarcerated, and leave the prison system with a greater knowledge than before, ready to serve their country with positive contributions.

Yes, let's spend our education dollars for foreign citizens that are taking up our prison space.

The Consulate of Mexico has developed a new division, initiated by President Fox, President, named the Institute for Mexicans Abroad. Susan Castillo welcomed the Mexican representatives, and helped them know how happy we are to be working so closely with them for the benefit of the Mexican citizens here in Oregon.

Don't give "the schools" another dime! Not one thin dime until they decide to stop using tax dollars "for the benefit of Mexican citizens here in Oregon."

I would note that this kind of nonsense will only get worse with a "guest worker" program. There will be many "feel good" programs designed to send "guest workers" back to Mexico (secret: they won't really go back) with skills and an education... all paid for by us and at the expense of our own children's education.

Since Kate Brown (D) won't

Help collect signatures to pass Jessica's Law in Oregon!

What: Protect Oregon children by putting violent sexual predator behind bars for a minimum of 25 years. It further protects the public by requiring lifetime monitoring of the predator once released from prison.

This is just common sense. The campaign to pass this is relying on grassroots efforts. That means if you could take a signature sheet and pass it around at your work, your church or your neighborhood you would be making a huge difference!

If you aren't into gathing signatures then you can make a donation to the campaign.

Speaking for myself: I choose to be straight

A tongue-in-cheek comment a few posts back got some people really worked up over whether or not "homosexuality" is a choice.

This is one of the best examples of how we let liberals define the argument. Most people seem resigned to the "fact" that homosexuality is a trait that you are born with. While this has been clearly proven in such scientific journals like "Will & Grace" and "The NY Times editorial board" I'm not willing to concede this so readily.

First: There is no conclusive scientific proof that homosexuality is genetic in humans. Surveys don't really hold water because if I insist that I'm gay and I've been that way since birth how are you going to prove/disprove that?

Second: Many "gays" insist that it is in fact a lifestyle choice. These "gays" become instant pariahs in the eyes of the gay mafia.

Third: There is a gay agenda. Please stop telling me that there isn't. It's like saying that the Family Research Council doesn't have an agenda. Or I don't have an agenda. I find it humorous that Basic Rights will deny the existance of a "gay agenda" and then have a web page on what their agenda is.

In conclusion: You don't have to accept the line that has been fed to you that homosexuality is genetic or unchangeable. Let's take the debate back to this point so we can stop debating whether or not pre-teens need gay adults to come to the public schools and counsel them on gay sex.

Best idea ever!

Ric, of Just Askin', just left a comment on my last post with one of the best ideas ever:

I am all in favor of building a large 'tent' city for ICE hold prisoners.

This should be funded at the state level, as should transportation from local ( County ) jails to this facility.

If Mexico wants its citizens comfortable, they can pay for buildings and heat.

A local sheriff could do this!! Not only would this save taxpayer money but it would also discourage illegal immigration. Criminals in Mexico realize that they aren't going to get a top notch defense for free and then cable tv and a flat screen in their cell if they get caught in Mexico, let's make prison here more uncomfortable to level out that playing field.

I say we kick out the bums at dignity village, put a fence around it and actually get some good use from that land.

This is what's there now:

That looks like a perfect place for illegal aliens to serve time... we'll take the lawn chairs though.

Anyone else?

Umatilla County sheriff asks Mex. government to pay for prisoners
Umatilla County Sheriff John Trumbo has sent Mexico's president a bill for $318,843 — the cost of jailing 360 Mexicans last year.

U.S. taxpayers "have to pay for housing these guys in the jail; they have to pay for the courts, the prosecution and the defense," Trumbo told The East Oregonian newspaper of Pendleton.

Fernando Sanchez, general consul for the Mexican government in Oregon, said Tuesday he believed that Mexican President Vicente Fox would respond to the letter. He also said Trumbo's analysis was too limited.

"My view is that he's not taking note of the economic contribution of the workers there in Umatilla County, which is significant," Sanchez said.
Like slaves made "economic contributions" in the South?

In the letter he mailed to Fox last week, Trumbo argued that "each time an illegal immigrant from Mexico was booked into our jail, we were forced to release local prisoners to make bed space available to your citizens."
Something I actually documented in the Washinton County Jail.

So who else is on board with this? I've asked several local law enforcement agencies to do these kind of publicity stunts to keep this issue in the news, raise awareness, and force the federal government to realize that we are not going to take this invasion lying down.

Vote for Atkinson

Wait a minute Daniel, I thought that you dropped your support for that candidate when he came out for a guest worker program?

I did, but after many long days of pondering all three candidates, all their positions, all their flaws and all their positives I have concluded (again) that Jason Atkinson is the best man to be governor for Oregon.

Let me get this part out of the way: I am a "purist" or an "idealogue" or possibly a "whackjob" when it comes to my position on illegal immigration. For those of you who know me or read my blog often you have probably heard me threaten to go "single issue voter" on this many times.

My current state senator, Charles Starr, has lost all my support for his vote to let a bill allowing illegal aliens to get in-state tuition out of committee. (Vote Larry George by the way)

The problem is that while the issue of illegal immigration is [almost] all encompassing I do need to take other things into account.

The other problem (and this is a huge problem for me) is that all three GOP candidates have come out for a guest worker program.

So I don't want the comments of "your guy supports this" because I know what he supports and I strongly disagree with him on this issue. No such thing as a perfect candidate. I will also not excuse positions that I disagree with. Don't ask me too.

I realize that this doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement as of yet but I'm just explaining my reasoning.

Yesterday, or maybe the day before I was on Gullyborg's site and I saw hunting pictures that Atkinson had sent him. My first thought was "this guy really is one of us." I just couldn't picture him giving a press conference at a MAX station or any of that other nonsense that comes out of Portland.

Illegal immigration issues aside (it's... so... hard... for... me...) Jason is the hands down best conservative choice. If you include the immigration stuff it only brings all three candidates down so Jason is still standing taller than the rest of the pack.

Jason is a good Christian man and he has not wavered on any of what would be considered "core" Republican values such as taxes, government, abortion, guns, etc.

That's why we elect Republicans. We do not have direct control of our government (and don't tell me initiative because the courts took that from us) so we need to elect the candidate that we have the most in common with. For me that is Jason Atkinson. I think that if you look at his history and look at what he is proposing to do with state government then you would think that he shares your values as well.

Thanks to all the Atkinson bloggers who didn't explode on me when I pulled back my support. I look forward to working together to elect a good Republican governor in Oregon.

Thoughts for a Tuesday afternoon

Wait a minute... Ben Westlund was a Republican?!?!?!?

It's always the gun's fault... unless Cheney pulled the trigger.

How did Eugene become the epicenter for eco-terrorism? Is there something in the pot?

Being gay is a choice, killing a baby is murder.

(Pointed out to me by Jim, president of OFIR) The language that the agriculture business uses today to explain their need for "guest workers" and illegal labor is the same language that the South used to explain their need for slavery...

It is still stealing if you don't get caught, where is your concience?

If you look like an idiot (hat backwards, pants hanging off, every piece of skin that protrudes from your body is pierced) you can't expect people to take you seriously. Especially a prospective employer.

How come the same people who push darwinism are the ones who push the "endangered species act?" And are vegetarians?

Snow in Februrary... must be global warming.

Star Wars beats Star Trek. Any day.

If you believe that most "medical" marijuana is truly for "medical" purposes then you probably have a drug problem.

If you choose to do something stupid don't call it an accident, call it a bad choice.

Kulongoski: No new jobs if it means actually doing things

Oregon Governor Kulongoski Causes A Ship Wreck For Oregon Economic Development
No nasty, polluting, job-creating ship wrecking business is welcome to set up shop in the purity of Oregon's aquatic environment. So sayeth the Guv. And he means it, too...tough environment protecting steward that he is...

Unfortunately, Governor Kulongoski didn't have the good sense to avoid wasting the time and money of the company that his Oregon Economic Development Department enticed into considering Oregon for its business expansion.

We want jobs in Oregon. No, not Wal-Mart jobs, not logging jobs, not nucleur power plan jobs, and certainly not ship-wrecking jobs. Just go work at that organic food store or something.

What a failure of a governor, why the unions will support him after this is beyond me. Oh wait, it's because that's how the unions get their power. They don't care about the rank-and-file. They don't care that hundreds of possible union jobs just got turned away.

So let me rephrase: why the union members will continue to vote for this guy is beyond me, I hope that they don't.

Eugene Protest: Now I'm just being mean

For those of you who have been reading me for a while and seen my coverage of past "Carousels of criminality" you know that I like to do a "Hall of Shame" post with the worst offenders from the event.

Now usually I don't take personal jabs at people, I've never even said anything about Kari Chisholm's weight (now I'm just being passive agressive), but the Hall of Shame for this event has some very special people. Starting with...

Crybaby

I actually made the guy in the in the sideways hat cry. He is the guy who stood in my face and called me a "fucker", it may have been in an attempt to intimidate me but I just can't find it in myself to be afraid on anyone with their hat on sideways, they are like clowns. Anyways, him and his mother, also pictured here, came over to "our side" to ask for "respect" from us while at the same time calling us "fuckers" and "racists."

I told him that if he though that was how you show respect the he was raised wrong. This caused him to cry.

If all the MECHA are girly men like him then I guesss that we have nothing to be afraid of...

Next up: Don't show my butt girl

This girl asked us not to put her butt on the internet but insisted on showing her butt repeatedly because she was trying to block her racist poster seen here:

Now that you've seen the butt it's time to match it to her face:

NOTE: Actual quote from my wife right this minute: "Oh my gosh you drank it all!" (In reference to the empty blender that was full of margarita...) And yes, I'm listening to Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet right now.

This is "don't show my butt" girl's face. Hmmm. I'll let you come up with that caption.

Next up: Curly

Far be it from me to talk about a bald guy but what's with that thing in your lip? This guy called me "stupid" in Spanish when I asked him why he wanted to "save tookie" as his T-shirt suggested. I sure hope that thing in your lip doesn't get infected...

Next: Professor Bob "Union" Bussel

I already blasted U of O professor Bob Bussel in a previous post. You can get his email adress by scrolling down a bit. Here he is singing about how America stole land from Mexico. (It's not stealing if you win it in a war you idiot)

And finally: The Mexican Consulate General

Also seen here with the real Mexican flag:

A chicken and worm? Oh yeah...

I told Fernando here that this would be the last year that the Carousel of Information would be happening. Let's make sure I'm right!!

Eugene Protest: Is Daniel "anti-immigrant?"

NOTE: Scroll down a bit for photos of the event!

From the Eugene Register Guard:

Anti-immigration activists rallied Saturday in Eugene...

...criticize the Mexican consulate for issuing identification cards to immigrants...

Antonio Guzman of Salem said several Latinos came by to register for basic services. While he disagreed with the anti-immigration faction...

This was written by Jim Feehan. I am quoted several times. Part of my interview with Mr. Feehan can be seen in THIS VIDEO (huge file, it takes a while to download) taken by Vonski.

During this interview I indicated several times that we were protesting illegal immigrantion. The best part is that my motives were questioned by the opposition and I said (in front of Feehan) that "I have the utmost respect for immigrants who come here legally..." and "people who come here legally probably appeciate this country more that 90% of the slack jawed idiots who are sitting at home watching Jerry Springer..."

I have been hearing about the "anti-immigrant" stuff for quite some time now. I think that this puts it to rest as well as shedding some light on the editorial slant of the article.

But, I've always said that any publicity is good, people are able to read that story and understand what we were doing. I'm glad that the article was written... I'm also glad that there is a video recording that puts it to shame.
