Ann Coulter column on the SCOTUS confirmation

This Is What 'Advice and Consent' Means
Unfortunately for Bush, he could nominate his Scottish terrier Barney, and some conservatives would rush to defend him, claiming to be in possession of secret information convincing them that the pooch is a true conservative and listing Barney's many virtues–loyalty, courage, never jumps on the furniture ...

Coulter is another conservative who thinks the Miers nomination is a joke.

I admit that we don't know much about Miers. But I also have a lot of faith in Bush when it comes to choosing good people for important jobs. His track record has been incredible, especially with judges. It is easier for me to believe that Bush knows things about Miers we don't and that she will prove to be a real conservative than it is to believe that the same man who spent 3 years fighting for Janice Rogers Brown just suddenly lost it.

I'm another conservative that's fed up with Bush's croynism. I for one will not support this nomination when they're are so many QUALIFIED conservative JUDGES out there for Bush to pick from.

No conservative would say they are "fed up with Bush's cronyism."

You are a plant and are no conservative.

I dont think she is the MOST qualified person, but she is qualified, and I agree with the "Gullyborg" posting...he has done really good so far with judges, so maybe he knows something we dont.

But I wanted Priscilla Owens.
