Covering what matters... to them

A few weekends ago Oregonians for Immigration reform organized a protest, which I was a part of, on the capitol steps. We were protesting our state government violating federal laws. We were protesting the drug dealers and rapists who break into our country.

Did the media show up? No.

But maybe that's because we weren't "holding anti-war signs and waving peace-themed flags" like the anti-war protest that the Statesmen Urinal did cover. We waved American flags and said good things about our country.

No Ad-paper in this house. What interest would I have in Half of yesterday's news?

Sure makes recycling easy.

Of course, Daniel, they won't cover something like that. They heard some Christians might have been in the crowd.

yes, and one of them may have been legally carrying a concealed weapon.

I got in several email discussions w/ Mr. Aguirre, the politcal commentator. Sadly, he is utterly convinced that his paper is more than fair. He pointed out that the paper backed several republicans last election (running unopposed). Mind you, they have no conservatives working there, a quick survey of the parking lot would yeild 80% Kerry stickers & they've supported nearly every tax increase. Yep, that's fair. If I want to be misinformed I'll just make stuff up on my own & save 50 cents.

Well Daniel,

When this happens again we can bring signs that will draw the press. Then, after they start interviewing we can toss the signs and pick up the real ones. They won't have much choice after that to cover the protest.

Of course the media didnt show up. They dont want to print anything that might be slightly truthful. They only want to print stuff that makes America look bloodthirsty and racist.

I hate the media.

Media bias proof, yesteday in the statesman, story about ELL not working, only interview is with Eduardo Angulo, he is NOT a citizen of America, he is from Puerto Rico. They should have, for balance, interviewed say Rick Hickey from OFIR to who would have given a reason why expensive program isnt working and a solution-ENGLISH IMMERSION NOT BI-Lingual! Of course they are NOT fair and so it goes only a Hispanic viewpoint

James,

Debate only fuels Ricardo Aguirre.

Don't show your cards, please as he conceals his intents.

Years ago, I decided the Statesman Urinal was a worthless piece. So biased & always for the liberal point of view, & lately all slanted toward the illegals. Have you noticed that? Especially when it comes to articles about kids. Oh, those poor picked on children who don't have anything & are always struggling so hard to "blend" in here. HAH! Don't get me going - aarrrggghhh!

On any given day of any given page of this "fair" rag, you could circle all the errors (sorry, that's just what I watch for - drives me NUTS!) Today was a great example of that. In the upper right corner of the front page it stated "Daylight Savings Time . . . starts tomorrow at 12:01 a.m." - HELLO! It's STANDARD time, idiots!@!@!@

So not only are they extremely biased, they don't know how to write!!!
