Cheaper healthcare

Illegals threaten closure of emergency rooms
Hospital emergency rooms in Florida may soon be closing their doors as a result of increased demands by uninsured and under-insured patients – many of them illegal aliens.

As a result, hospitals in Florida have lost surgeons and stand to lose entire surgical departments. Some hospitals are having a hard time getting physicians to work because they are choosing to work in other areas where they will be fully compensated for the treatment they give.

With hospitals closing and raising prices for patients who do have insurance is it any wonder why the health care system is seen as having a problem?

Illegal aliens are taking advantage of our country, these criminals come here and expect free care while citizens pay for it.

Take your pick, a barrier on the border between us and Mexico or a barrier between us and cheaper health care.

the article also mentions...
"Certain diseases that we thought we had vanquished years ago are coming back, and other diseases that we've never seen or rarely seen in America, because they've always been the diseases of poverty and the third world, are coming in now," she said.

so maybe if the state and federal government will not do anything, the CDC might!

Anyone ever spent much time in the Salem Hospital ER waiting room? I've been there 3 times. I don't think any visit had less than a 4 hour wait. I know at least one was over 5 hours. Every time while I waited the waiting room was packed full with people speaking spanish. My last visit to the ER was in Northwest Portland, which has an illegal allien population somewhere near zero I assume. I was amazed. Within minutes of hobbling into the place, I was getting x-rayed. (Last time I needed X-rays at the Salem ER I waited for hours.) The whole trip took less than an hour, most of that time was waiting for the X-ray films to be ready. My family and I were pretty shocked. After that experience we wished that we realized that for any of my previous visits to the emergency room, it would have been quicker to drive to Portland for treatment.

The left's response to this is socialized medicine. Don't hold anyone accountable. Don't stop the flow of illegals. We, the government, will just take over health care and distribute to whomever we see fit. In your case, you can get in the back of the line, whitey. You are no better than a felon or an illegal alien. If they happen to be in line before you, for whatever reason, tough. Deal with it. Don't like it? Too bad. What are you going to do about it? Can't get private medical care in Canada anymomre either, so you are stuck with your lot in life. If you die while waiting for medical services, that is your problem, even if you would otherwise have the means to take care of yourself. Have a nice day. :)

Yes, I have been to the Salem ER 3 times in the last month and yes we were the only ones speaking English! and yes we waited a long time for what is supposedly an "Emergency"

Robin, CDC is the federal government. They do some good things, but they are ineffective with other things.

you will get no argument out of me on that one

One thing I've never really understood is why the Salem DMV's and the ER are always so full of illegal alliens. (I assume they are illegal because they don't speak english.) I know there are a lot of illegal alliens in Salem, but at these places it always seems like they are represented so far beyond the population as a whole. Why do illegal alliens need to go to the DMV so damn much?
