Way to go DHS! err, maybe not

From a DHS message:

"take a moment to remember the bravery of all who fight for freedom."

Yeah! Speak it brother! Hurray for America! Whoooo! Huh? Wait a minute? Not America? Mexico?!?! Oh, I see. I should have known it was too good to be true...

Context:
Cinco de Mayo not only gives us the chance to celebrate the courage and determination of the Mexican soldiers at Puebla, it also allows us to recognize the richness of the Hispanic culture and its contribution to our society as a whole.

I hope you and your family will enjoy a Cinco de Mayo event in your area, and will take a moment to remember the bravery of all who fight for freedom.

The only time that liberals celebrate the military or courage is when it's another countries.

A few years ago the Cinco de Mayo celebration that had become an annual event in Salem was canceled the day before it was to occur as the insurer bailed out at the last minute. And, it has never returned. In fact nobody has. One Hot tamale I guess!!

Pity, I was thinking of having concession the following year offering blade sharpening services along with selling the black-white reversible hoodie sweat-shirts and my patented "pepper hot" black tennis shoes called the Dog Sneezers.

So how do we get the 4th of May celebration canceled in Portland ?

I know it's a pipe dream but I can hope

Nice that you put this up just before Veterans day, a day where TRUE heros are supposed to be remembered.

Why are government agencies making statements like this in the first place? Thier job ist to provide service, not editorialize some other nation's holliday as they try to pawn it off on us.

May Day in Portland is definitely not insured! Unless of course you count the taxpayers and private citizens insurance on their property that is being destroyed...

Nice new pic Gunslinger!

I say we stand at the entrance holding American flags next year. We keep calling the police and demand they check ID and arrest those that are illegal (we could use the rose garden as the holding cell if it is big enough).
We should not celebrate the country that has declared war on ours and has started the invasion.

Thanks Daniel, that would be the Master Chief, sniping stick guy.

Hopefully we can fix the problem soon so that what is happening in France won't happen to the US.

I'd hate to say I told you so.

Maybe you just have no idea how hard it is to take you seriously, no matter the hard work you clearly pour into this blog, with generalizations like that one that simply nullify whatever socratic worth you otherwise appear to have.

Hey Kaleri, why is it that you have your profile blocked. We want to come to your blog. Oh, wait, that is the one sidedness of the liberals.

Don't have one. Thinking of starting one, though. If I do, I'll be happy to invite you personally.
