To Rehabilitate a Man, Sentence Him to Death
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced that he would consider granting clemency to Stanley “Tookie” Williams, a murdering gang member sentenced to death for his part in four killings committed during two separate armed robberies.

Of course, Tookie probably killed a lot more people than that. I say this not just because it is a strong statistical probability, given Tookie’s youthful pattern of behavior (i.e. shooting folks), but because Tookie is one of the two founding fathers of the “Crips” drug gang, which along with the “Bloods” turned Los Angeles into a war zone during the Crack epidemic of the 1980s.

I am from CA. This is news everyday in the state. I will tell you this, if Arnold does it, he is clearly pandering to the left. Bush has pandered to the left at times with increased social spending. Where has that gotten him. Arnold should bear in mind that if he commutes Tookie's sentence, he may have to commute others' sentence, if not legally, then morally. I have no problem with getting rid of the death penalty absent direct hard evidence of a crime (e.g., murder weapon found and/or DNA), but if we do so, then it is life at hard labor and no "frills" in jail. You know, no cable tv. no law school educations, no nothin'. If you are a lifer, you just rot after working a brutally hard day outside in whatever condition God brings that day (rain or shine, etc.)

KFI radio in L.A. is running a "Tookie must die" spot every day during the Jon and Ken show from 4-7 p.m. You can listen online at KFI's website, or turn on the radio here after dark (640 a.m.).
