Portland hates crosses? Wonder why...

I know that I've posted on this before but with the threats to crucify Lars in Pioneer Courthouse Square and all the anti-Christian rhectoric related to the birth of Christ and the federal holiday of Christmas, I thought that I would repeat myself:

According to the Princeton Review the top five schools where Students Ignore God On A Regular Basis include our very own Reed College (#1) and Lewis and Clark college (#5).

To see my original post on this where I provided some good examples of what these two colleges are doing click here. (It's worth it)

Things like:

Lewis & Clark's Department of Religious Studies has chosen to focus on the study of religion as a social and cultural phenomenon.

Lets just go with the flow and support the "Holy Day" Tree.

Allen, I'm afraid that going with the flow will involve the desecration of the traditional family, rampant pot use as "medicine," a government that does everything including tie your shoes, complete moral relativism, and all of us living in high density rat cages. (Until government takes it from us for something that they think is better)

But I get what you're saying.

I guess every holiday should be appropriately stated. For instance,

Martin Luther King day? Let's just call it "A certain holiday in January". Acceptable greeting: "It's great to have today off!"

New Year's Day= "A certain holiday associated with sports on television". Acceptable greeting: "Happy point spread!"

Memorial Day= "A holiday associated with BBQ and RV's". Acceptable greeting: "Happy three day weekend! Pass the bong."

Independence Day= "A holiday associated with BBQ, RV's and blowing up stuff". Acceptable greeting: See Memorial Day

Labor Day= "A holiday associated with BBQ and RV's". Acceptable greeting: See Memorial Day

Columbus Day= "A holiday associated with BBQ and sailing ships". Acceptable Greeting: (Federal Employees Only- "Happy dead rich white guy who engaged in genocide but who cares we got another paid holiday." Can also be spoken as "HDRWGWEIGBWCWGAPH"

Veterans Day= "A holiday associated with troops we don't really support." Acceptable Greeting: See Memorial Day.

Thanksgiving Day= " a holiday associated with BBQ Turkey and beer" Acceptable Greeting: None required. Keep eating. (Disclaimer: Tofurkey eaters may use Columbus Day Acceptable Greeting, but only after reaching consensus with their cadre.)

Christmas Day= "a holiday associated with holidays." Acceptable Greeting: "I hate crosses and I don't celebrate Christmas."

Birthdays will need to be abolished because they are so age-centric..And it would be too difficult to think up 260 million Acceptable Greetings.

Why do you even care what Lewis And Clark and Reed College are teaching their students? I don't think that your tax dollars are supporting these institutions since they are private.

Daniel,

If I thought you a Flow Go'er I wouldn't be writing this.

I just couldn't resist the "Holy Tree" jab at the ACLU'ers as I know its steams their biscuits and there is nothing they can say . . . today.

You can bet the word Holiday is on their list, but campaigning gainst it now would totally expose their extremeness.

Troutdale Councilor Canfield, that's worthy of a post on it's own!

Anon, it's not about tax dollars here, obviously a private school can teach what they want. My opposition comes from the fact that this county was founded on Christianity and requires it's citizens to be Christians if we are to function. (at least according to our founding fathers) (You're going to make me dig up the quotes aren't you?)

Allen, it's a slow decline, they'll go after that word next year.

I must say that when it comes to crap like this from the far left, I literally hate this town. I am not from here. I grew up in a Catholic city. I am Catholic myself and find myself having very mean thoughts about these people around here. I don't act on it, but I am one pissed off MoFo, if you know what I mean. Who the F do these people think they are to threaten a man over a cross in a public square. No matter, I would die for the cross. Not saying Lars should force the issue as that is not what I mean. I hate to say it, man, but you people have a lot of f*cked up people in this town and it is an absolute disgrace. I feel for you guys, but I am glad that people like you exist here as well. Without normal, sane people, there is no way I could last in this town. Too many freaks. Thanks for letting me rant.
