He was reaching for the Cheetos...

Allegedly intoxicated driver crashes his car
REEDSPORT: A Scottsburg resident was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after crashing on Highway 38 close to midnight Monday.

Gerardo was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, failing to perform the duties of a driver and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

I had to post this because of the discussion from a few posts down about marijuana and the reasons for it's prohibition. Would any of you hippies like to explain to a victims family how "harmless" marijuana is if this guy had killed someone?

Ahem. It says "drunk driving" in the first sentence.

So when do we ban alcohol?

Oops ... we tried that already.

Oh ... and sorry ... I'm not a hippy. Just a libertarian gun nut who ain't on the War on (some) Drugs bandwagon.

If some idiot behaves badly, he should just be punished. Really ... his excuse ( "I am an addict" or "I am insane" or "I had too many Twinkies" ) is not very important.

Kaelri,
Many people (pot smokers) compare pot to Alcohol.
If you can not detect the recent use of pot (besides smell) then how do you suggest we test for it?
Do you suggest we just legalize it and take our "hits"?
If you want it legal, give us some options on how to require its legal use so we do not put people at risk.
In this country we still try to have accountability.

The term "drunken driving" is pretty unambiguous. The article's referring to alcohol. No cryptography required.

I haven't said that I think marijuana should be legalized. I simply think it's illogical to place fewer restrictions on more dangerous products.
