My bet is, the last minute amendments to SB 2611 are intended to insure that Nothing Results just as the Democrats stuffed in the Felony provision in HR 4437 that brought about the Illegal Alien parades.

They are Poison Pills purposely planted to Kill any action.

At the rate of three to five Million Illegal Aliens a entering the US every year it won't be long before we can look to Mexico City for any new legislation.

There is a mad rush on as of the passage of this bill to get here FAST! Everyone thinks they are going to get amnesty.

Never thought I'd be caught watching CNN, let alone cheering them on. Our senate is shameless, and shameful. Even the moonbats on CNN know something is terribly wrong.

Does anyone have a link to the text of this "stealth amendment?" All I've heard so far is that it requires us to "consult" with Mexico before building the wall. If it's that simple, then we could build it even if Mexico says 'no,' as long as we asked the question. Is the actual amendment more tangible?

The only reason we should "consult" with Mexico is to demand that they pay for the wall. They are the reason we need a wall at all.

SA4089 sec.9b-(b) CONSULTATION REQUIREMENT.--Consultations between United States and Mexican authorities at the federal, state, and local levels concerning the construction of additional fencing and related border security structures along the United States-Mexico border shall be undertaken prior to commencing any new construction, in order to solicit the views of affected communities, lessen tensions and foster greater understanding and stronger cooperation on this and other important issues of mutual concern.

It amazes me that the USA has to have the permission of a foreign givernment to protect our own borders! Who thought that one up?

This is (still) our country, and to ask permission from the invaders to defend ourselves is one step closer to the lunacy espoused by the likes of roger dodger, etal.

Do we next have to ask the car thief if it's ok to lock up our cars? Or the burgler if it's alright to lock our doors when we go out?

And, for all you anti-gun advocates out there, have you posted the sign on your window that says "This home is gun free"?

This "just in":

The Minutemen began a fence-building project in Arizona today--and they didn't ask Mexico's permission.

Chris Simcox issued a statement announcing the construction project now underway:

Chris Simcox, President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (“MCDC”), today announced plans by the MCDC to work with local Arizona land owners to build border security fencing on private land along the border with Mexico.
At present, six private land owners have partnered with the Minutemen for the commencement of construction of border fencing on their land. Surveillance cameras on the fencing will be monitored via computer by registered Minutemen across the country. We have chosen a fence design that is based on the Israeli fences in Gaza and on the West Bank that have cut terrorist attacks there by 95% or more. In order to be effective, a fence should not be easy to compromise by climbing over it with a ladder, cutting through it with wire cutters, ramming it with a vehicle, or tunneling under it undetected. No fence can be a 100% impenetrable barrier—but a good design will be time-consuming enough to get through that Border Patrol agents can be alerted to get to a point of attempted intrusion before the intrusion can be completed. We thank Colin Hanna and We Need A Fence.com for the design concept.

Gotta love it!

You know, at the end of the day there is only one conclusion you can draw:

Bush and the Republicans, at least those not up for re-election soon, don’t want to stop the illegals. Why? So businesses can take advantage of them.

Where are the liberals? Well, they are running around calling everyone a racist, that’s not unusual. What is ridiculous is their total silence on holding government accountable for enforcing laws against businesses and basically siding with businesses so they can exploit low skilled desperate people. Conclusion? Business exploiting people is fine, perhaps preferable, so long as in the end those people become a voting block.

Anyone else out there starting to laugh at the left when they get all indignant and morally righteous? I know I am.

The U.S. is supposed to "consult" with the Mexican government about building the wall on the border. OK. Let's go ahead and ask their permission to build it. Then, after the Mexican government says "No", then follow Portland's lead in building it's little choo-choo train, and build it anyway, just like Portland did with the choo-choo train after the voters voted it down.
