What should have happened

I want to give kudos to Senator Charles Starr for his efforts to make Oregon a better place. His letter to the editor in today's Oregonian:

Like other members of the Oregon Legislature, I hope that the special session is as brief as possible. However, it is past time to deal with the mounting problem of illegal immigration. It should be taken up before adjournment.

Due to the urgency of the issue, I made a strong appeal to the Senate president that we fast-track Oregon's compliance with the federal Real ID Act.

Unfortunately the special session is over and we did not get this bill heard or voted on. But it wasn't for a lack of effort and I want to commend Senator Starr for putting this out there to Peter Courtney.

The fact that he followed up with a letter to the editor so Oregonians know that the Democrat leadership in the Senate ignored this issue is priceless.

Thank you Senator Charles Starr!

Hmm... Why am I surprised that Charles Starr did not mention that he was the Republican champion for the bill giving "in-state" tuition to illegal aliens, in the last session.

Sen. Starr... You don't think THAT could be a bit of a problem do ya?

Charles Starr's letter was written for one reason:

LARRY GEORGE!

I am sorry Daniel, but how do you believe anything Senator Starr says. He now is for a tough laws on illegals, but let's give them in-state tution first?

I would go with Larry if I lived in your town Daniel.
