Protests backfire!
Recent images of seas of illegal aliens marching in cities across the U.S. are having a far greater negative than positive impact on the foreigners' cause, according to a new poll.
A Zogby survey of nearly 8,000 people shows coast-to-coast protests against immigration proposals in Congress – particularly to make it a federal felony to be an illegal worker in the U.S. – have not persuaded a majority of likely American voters.
NOTE: That's a majority of American voters, not illegal aliens who aren't allowed to vote.
A majority of Americans said they oppose amnesty for illegals who already reside in this nation. While 52 percent said there should be no amnesty, 32 percent said they'd favor it.

Well, when I heard that a united people couldn't fail, I wondered why they seem to have failed so miserably in mehico! There, they are united in starvation, illiteracy, crime, corruption, communism, anti-Americanism, disease, and chaos, and just want to share it all with us, huh? Lucky us!

I can't wait for the immigration criminals' economic attack on America May 1st. Whether it succeeds or fails, it will reveal a lot about who they really are.

"An apparent arson fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to a Mexican restaurant in East County may have been a hate crime according to authorities.
Arson investigators with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department were dispatched around 11:55 p.m. Monday to a fire at Mariachi's Mexican Bar and Grill, 12868 Campo Road, in an unincorporated area of El Cajon, San Diego sheriff's Lt. Edna Ito said.
Investigators determined that someone had broken an outside window and poured gasoline inside the business before torching it. Profanities directed toward Mexicans were found in red spray paint on some of the restaurant's walls, Ito said.
The total damage to the restaurant was about $10,000, the lieutenant said.
No injuries were reported."

A coalition of sympathetic media and open border activists has counterattacked effectively, as Congress tries to hammer out a bill that would get illegal immigration under control.
Millions of demonstrators are on the march, demanding U.S. citizenship for illegal aliens. And overall, the media is very sympathetic to the demonstrators, who generally believe that everybody has a right to come to America.

Now, what's happening in the debate is deplorable. Number one, if you want to secure the border and hold illegal aliens accountable for breaking immigration law, you're inhumane. You're inhumane.
Americans seeking strict enforcement of immigration laws are bad people, and even worse, conservatives.
But the open border crowd is humane and holistic. Just read The New York Times and other left wing outlets.
Well, "Talking Points" is fed up with the bull. So here's the truth: The Kennedy-McCain bill would not secure the border or stop rampant illegal entry. The bill provides for more border patrol agents, but little else on the security side. The Frist bill's a bit tougher, but not much. So at this point, the Senate simply doesn't want to secure the border, period.
And the press in general applauds. For example, writing in The Denver Post, our pal Cindy Rodriguez says, "When I think of all that undocumented workers do for us, I don't feel fear. I feel gratitude."
And don't you dare disagree with Ms. Rodriguez. If you do, you're a bigot.
She writes, "Hate groups like the Aryan Nation spew vitriol about the 'illegal invasion' in e-mail blasts. Bill O'Reilly and Lou Dobbs drone on about 'illegals' every night. These distinct groups use the same language. It's an orchestrated effort designed to instill fear in Americans."
So now, Mr. Dobbs and I are simpatico with the Nazis, according to Miss Rodriguez.
We've been through this before with that woman, who is a flat-out dishonest correspondent. And The Denver Post knows it. And Rodriguez is not alone. That kind of rubbish is printed all the time by people who can't possibly win the debate, so they demonize people with opposing points of view.
It is long past time for Americans to reject that kind of tactic and demand their government enforce current immigration laws or make new ones! But don't make the mistake of directing your ire toward individuals. Illegal aliens are basically honest hard-working people, but again, they have no right to be here.
However, the federal government has allowed millions of illegal aliens to enter the country. And the media has basically supported that choice. Anarchy is the result.
So let's stop the nonsense. Secure the borders, develop a national ID card for those entitled to work in this country, and establish a disciplined guest worker program. That is a responsibility of Congress and the president.
Finally, let it be done.

Illegals' Amnesty Could Cost $60 Billion a Year, Group Says

(CNSNews.com) - If an illegal immigrant amnesty or guest worker program similar to the ones being contemplated by the U.S. Senate and supported by President Bush were enacted, the cost to state and local governments would be staggering, an immigration reform group charged Tuesday.
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates that state and local costs associated with illegal immigration for public education, health care and incarceration, now about $36 billion a year, would balloon to $61.5 billion by 2010 -- a 70 percent increase -- and increase to $106.3 billion by 2020.
As a result of an amnesty and a vastly expanded guest worker program, millions of current illegal aliens would gain legal access to government programs and services, a FAIR analysis states.
Moreover, newly legalized aliens would be allowed to bring their dependents to this country, adding to the burdens on schools and public health care. Similarly, state and local governments would have to provide for the education and health care of the dependents of the 400,000 new guest workers called for in the Senate proposal.
"From every possible angle, an illegal alien amnesty and guest worker program would be a fiscal and administrative nightmare," said Dan Stein, president of FAIR. "Never mind the fact that an illegal alien amnesty is a moral betrayal of the American public and immigrants who played by the rules.
"It would be an unfunded federal mandate that will bankrupt states, counties and cities all across the United States," Stein added.
Contrary to claims by proponents of amnesty, the tax contributions of newly legalized illegal aliens would not offset the additional costs, he stated. The estimated 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S. are overwhelmingly poorly educated and low skilled.
Even with legalization, their earning potential would be very limited, Stein noted. With the ability to legitimately claim dependents on their returns, their tax contributions would be negligible at best, and with programs like the Earned Income Tax Credit, many will actually get more back than they pay in.
None of the federal or local costs associated with an illegal alien amnesty or a massive guest worker program has even been considered as part of the Senate's deliberations, he said.
When asked point blank about the ramifications of their proposed legislation, Senate amnesty and guest worker supporters admitted that they have not been worked out. "The devil is in the details," said the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, Patrick Leahy of Vermont.
"'The devil is in the details' is an utterly reckless and irresponsible way to conduct public policy," responded Stein. "The fiscal, social, environmental and demographic consequences of what the Senate is proposing would be staggering.
"In an effort to respond to special interest pressure, the Senate and the Bush administration seem prepared to rush forward without any rational assessment of what it would mean for the future of the nation," he noted.
"We have seen where the 'devil is in the details' approach has gotten us in Iraq. The president and others pushing amnesty and guest workers have an obligation to think this one all the way through before acting," Stein concluded.

All the more is the point that Bill O'Reilly is cutting the baby in half. I'm glad for the toughness he does espouse, but the fact remains, at the end of the day O'Reilly supports amnesty. He fails to explore methods to get illegal aliens to self deport first, and second to take active steps to deport the rest, later.
O'Reilly also fails to intellectually own up to his amnesty position. He never says "I support amnesty, its the only thing we can do, its the humane thing to do."
Most important, O'Reilly fails to recognize the absolute failure of the Amnesty Act of 1986 to stem illegal immigration, or if he does, he fails to show how any amnesty connected to enforcement will be successful today. Say I'm from the "show me state", but too many promises from the Federal government have been broken about enforcing the border. Enforcement First, concurrent measures to encourage or force self deportation. The Federal government must prove it can enforce the border, or we will only find out later the American People have been sold out by the elite policians and Bill O'Reilly.
Enforcement and No amnesty is the only way to stop the Tidal Wave of illegal immigration and preserve and protect our National Sovereignty. You can't have one without the other. Show me the proof you can, I dare you.

I initially missed the point of your thread, which was not to defend Bill O'Reilly, but was to give evidence against amnesty. To the extent that I missed your point, I'm sorry for my error, because you evidence is again convincing that amnesty is a bad deal for America.
