Congressman accused of using staff to baby-sit
Two former staff members of U.S. Rep. John Conyers Jr., D-Michigan, say the longtime Detroit congressman made them baby-sit his children, run errands and work on political campaigns while they were on his congressional payroll.
But I thought that Hillary said illegal aliens were the ones babysitting our children?
It takes a village: it takes teachers, it takes clergy, it takes... illegal aliens!
Thank you Rep Conyers for proving that Americans will do this job, at least if it's at taxpayer expense.
This is why the Democrats don't get the "family values" vote. Hillary thinks that baby-raping illegal aliens should be watching kids and Conyers thinks that congressional aides should. Where are the parents in all this?

You know a Congressman must be a real asswhole for his staff to start slinging dirt about him.
I wonder what he really did that had them leaking this type of info.
Also, it would be my assumption that if I worked for a Congressman and excelled I'd be put out in the field working on his reelection campaign.

A coalition of sympathetic media and open border activists has counterattacked effectively, as Congress tries to hammer out a bill that would get illegal immigration under control.
Millions of demonstrators are on the march, demanding U.S. citizenship for illegal aliens. And overall, the media is very sympathetic to the demonstrators, who generally believe that everybody has a right to come to America.

Now, what's happening in the debate is deplorable. Number one, if you want to secure the border and hold illegal aliens accountable for breaking immigration law, you're inhumane. You're inhumane.
Americans seeking strict enforcement of immigration laws are bad people, and even worse, conservatives.
But the open border crowd is humane and holistic. Just read The New York Times and other left wing outlets.
Well, "Talking Points" is fed up with the bull. So here's the truth: The Kennedy-McCain bill would not secure the border or stop rampant illegal entry. The bill provides for more border patrol agents, but little else on the security side. The Frist bill's a bit tougher, but not much. So at this point, the Senate simply doesn't want to secure the border, period.
And the press in general applauds. For example, writing in The Denver Post, our pal Cindy Rodriguez says, "When I think of all that undocumented workers do for us, I don't feel fear. I feel gratitude."
And don't you dare disagree with Ms. Rodriguez. If you do, you're a bigot.
She writes, "Hate groups like the Aryan Nation spew vitriol about the 'illegal invasion' in e-mail blasts. Bill O'Reilly and Lou Dobbs drone on about 'illegals' every night. These distinct groups use the same language. It's an orchestrated effort designed to instill fear in Americans."
So now, Mr. Dobbs and I are simpatico with the Nazis, according to Miss Rodriguez.
We've been through this before with that woman, who is a flat-out dishonest correspondent. And The Denver Post knows it. And Rodriguez is not alone. That kind of rubbish is printed all the time by people who can't possibly win the debate, so they demonize people with opposing points of view.
It is long past time for Americans to reject that kind of tactic and demand their government enforce current immigration laws or make new ones! But don't make the mistake of directing your ire toward individuals. Illegal aliens are basically honest hard-working people, but again, they have no right to be here.
However, the federal government has allowed millions of illegal aliens to enter the country. And the media has basically supported that choice. Anarchy is the result.
So let's stop the nonsense. Secure the borders, develop a national ID card for those entitled to work in this country, and establish a disciplined guest worker program. That is a responsibility of Congress and the president.
Finally, let it be done.

Illegals' Amnesty Could Cost $60 Billion a Year, Group Says

(CNSNews.com) - If an illegal immigrant amnesty or guest worker program similar to the ones being contemplated by the U.S. Senate and supported by President Bush were enacted, the cost to state and local governments would be staggering, an immigration reform group charged Tuesday.
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates that state and local costs associated with illegal immigration for public education, health care and incarceration, now about $36 billion a year, would balloon to $61.5 billion by 2010 -- a 70 percent increase -- and increase to $106.3 billion by 2020.
As a result of an amnesty and a vastly expanded guest worker program, millions of current illegal aliens would gain legal access to government programs and services, a FAIR analysis states.
Moreover, newly legalized aliens would be allowed to bring their dependents to this country, adding to the burdens on schools and public health care. Similarly, state and local governments would have to provide for the education and health care of the dependents of the 400,000 new guest workers called for in the Senate proposal.
"From every possible angle, an illegal alien amnesty and guest worker program would be a fiscal and administrative nightmare," said Dan Stein, president of FAIR. "Never mind the fact that an illegal alien amnesty is a moral betrayal of the American public and immigrants who played by the rules.
"It would be an unfunded federal mandate that will bankrupt states, counties and cities all across the United States," Stein added.
Contrary to claims by proponents of amnesty, the tax contributions of newly legalized illegal aliens would not offset the additional costs, he stated. The estimated 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S. are overwhelmingly poorly educated and low skilled.
Even with legalization, their earning potential would be very limited, Stein noted. With the ability to legitimately claim dependents on their returns, their tax contributions would be negligible at best, and with programs like the Earned Income Tax Credit, many will actually get more back than they pay in.
None of the federal or local costs associated with an illegal alien amnesty or a massive guest worker program has even been considered as part of the Senate's deliberations, he said.
When asked point blank about the ramifications of their proposed legislation, Senate amnesty and guest worker supporters admitted that they have not been worked out. "The devil is in the details," said the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, Patrick Leahy of Vermont.
"'The devil is in the details' is an utterly reckless and irresponsible way to conduct public policy," responded Stein. "The fiscal, social, environmental and demographic consequences of what the Senate is proposing would be staggering.
"In an effort to respond to special interest pressure, the Senate and the Bush administration seem prepared to rush forward without any rational assessment of what it would mean for the future of the nation," he noted.
"We have seen where the 'devil is in the details' approach has gotten us in Iraq. The president and others pushing amnesty and guest workers have an obligation to think this one all the way through before acting," Stein concluded.

No, they are not honest nor are they hardworking. Lying, dishonesty, deceit, and thievery are typical mexican behavior and the way of life in Mexico.
The honest mexicans are in Mexico or immigrated here legally. They and other hispanics in the U.S. are just as appalled and ashamed, as we Americans are, of these criminals who cross the border illegally, remain illegally here, steal our good-paying jobs thereby putting Americans out of work, illegally getting welfare, food stamps, free medical care, subsidized housing, SSI, and any other free benefits of ours that these criminals have absolutely no right to whatsoever and which they never paid a penny into.
The illegal alien scum who come across the borders are criminals who are lawless vermin who have absolutely no respect whatsoever for our laws or for any laws and morals. This is a fact. If they were honest and hardworking, then they would still be in Mexico or they would immigrate legally. This too is a fact.
