It's always a let down

Do you ever have something that you always look forward to, something that you always think will finally live up to your expectations only to be let down time and time again?

It's a vicious cycle. I keep getting my hopes up that this one will be different, this will be my moment to shine, finally I will be able to participate.

It never works out for me.

Of course I am talking about the Diversity Events Calendar which is a joint publication of the Department of Human Services, Office of Multicultural Health and Department of Administrative Services. (Read: your tax dollars)

I really want to find something for me but with statements like "open to any agency or community group that works with or provides service to the Hispanic community in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties" I know that I'm not welcome. (My wife could go but I don't let her out of the house...)

Tommorow is the CONCILIO LATINO DE WASHINGTON COUNTY. This group is run by Lily Cáceres who we pay to be in charge of the "Office of Minority Services" for the Oregon Youth Authority.

I know it's strange, I also didn't realize that an agency in charge of locking up juvenille delinquents needed such an office.

But back to my disapointment. It looks as if I must wait another month for the next calendar to see if I will be included.

NOTE: I would try to sneak in to one of these events but I heard rumors that Serena Cruz stands at the doorway with one of those paint color sample sticks that you get at home depot and she holds it up to your face to make sure your color is darker than 3P...
