Ding Dong Zarqawi's dead

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi Killed in Bombing Raid
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Al Qaeda in Iraq leader who led a brutal insurgency that included homicide bombings, kidnappings and beheadings, was killed in an airstrike on a building north of Baghdad, U.S. and Iraqi officials announced Thursday.

Officials said the terror leader's identity was confirmed by fingerprints, facial recognition and known scars.

You know my position: Bury him with pig guts. Let the other Al Qaeda leaders know that they will get the same treatment when we get them.

Female pig guts, please!

Despite the rhetoric of uber-patriots like John Kerry, who claim that Iraq is a quagmire, I think it's interesting that the pig's location was disclosed by Iraqi locals to Iraqi police, who then passed the information along to coalition forces.

It seems clear that, regardless of the pictures painted by mainstream American media, significant progress has occurred in that country.

"WE GOT HIM" Nothing like seeing his dead mug shot next to a live photo. June 8, 2006. Hopefully the beginning of the end of the violence in Iraq.

A side note, thank you Daniel, I saw it first on your blog-way to be on top of the story.

Great news, just like the news from Southern California. A Republican won on an anti-illegal immigrant platform, in a special Congressional election. The Democrat was pro-amesty, open border type. Daniel, I wont go into detail, I'll leave that up to you. Good news all around.

The moment of disconcertion the other al Qaeda leaders would feel would be promptly abolished by the sight of their new recruitment numbers. The fact that the man was an evil murdering torturing bastard is how you'd justify your punishment for his corpse, but you must realize, it's the same reason for which that punishment would be completely fruitless.

Further: We're talking about people who want the United States infantry off their streets so badly that they're willing to massacre the bodies of their fellow citizens' children. Where, on the scale of psychological tolerance, do you suppose they'd pin up pig guts?

"Kaelri knows nothing of the moslem [sic] religon and perhaps nothing about anything else either"

Largely true. The Holy Qur'an, on the other hand, is considered quite authoritative on the subject.

Al-Baqarah The Cow 2:173. "He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without willful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then is he guiltless. For Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful."

I'd say a battered and detonated corpse is generally incapable of willful disobedience. (Moreover, I have doubts that Islamic extremists, even the ones who claim to represent fundamentalist values, have any more misgivings about eating pork than members of the Ku Klux Klan have about planting two different crops side by side.)

"where did you come up with disconcertion?"

I first typed the word from memory and rhetorical instinct as "disconcertation." Dictionary.com set me straight.

Burying him with pig guts and bacon drippings would be good. For all I care, he should be decapitated on film and cheered by some willing Iraqis.

Who would be denounced as traitors to Iraq and Islam by Zarqawi's successors, identified, found, and executed in their homes, probably in a similar manner.
