Know your audience

My wife (the sign holder on the left) suggested that next time perhaps some of the signs should be in Spanish. After all, maybe these illegals think that we are welcoming them...

"It says... welcome... to.... America... here is... your free... health care?"

If these people could read English then we wouldn't have so many government forms printed in Spanish.

OREGON AND WASHINGTON Representatives are under the Oregon Constitution requiring them to restrain and regulate immigration only to those who are qualified to become citizens of the United States. This applies to the modern States of Oregon and Washington.

Oregon Territorial Constitution was never rescinded by the territory, but only by the state courts. No territorial court existed to which citizens of the territory could appeal the decision of the state court, and today reads: "White foreigners who are, or who may hereafter become residents of the state shall enjoy the same rights in respect to the possession, enjoyment, and descent of propert as native born citizens. And the legislative assembly shall have power to restrain and regulate immigration to this State of persons not qualified to become citizens of the United States. (Oregon Constitution, page 7, paragraph 31).

"Oregon, My Oregon"
Words by J.A. Buchanan
Music by Henry B. Murtagh

Land of the Empire Builders, Land of the Golden West;
Conquered and held by free men, Fairest and the best.
On-ward and upward ever, Forward and on, and on;
Hail to thee, Land of the Heroes, My Oregon.

Land of the rose and sunshine, Land of the summer's breeze;
Laden with health and vigor, Fresh from the western seas.
Blest by the blood of martyrs, Land of the setting sun;
Hail to thee, Land of Promise, My Oregon.

I love this site.

Keep up the good fight against this foreign enemy.

Or, wait, the enemy within, that would be our government assisiting this foreign enemy.

Keep it up.

I live in Ohio. I love seeing American patriots still exist everywhere in this great country.

Getting kind of repetitious, aren't ya?

Daniel,

What an interesting blog!
You've certainly done your part to contribute to the large body of very skewed information about immigration. You've also managed to demonstrate that your peculiar version of "Christianity" is certainly not rooted in love, dignity and respect for one's neighbor.

Aside from that, next time you request information from Mr. Moreno about migrant health clinics, take a second to do a quick web search on other reports that he has produced. You'll see some interesting figures that you, for some reason, don't mention. These include the nearly $25 billion that migrant and seasonal farmworkers pay in taxes annually. There is also a substantial body of sociological literature (which I suggest you read) which presents some very convincing empirical evidence that illegal immigrants are actually NOT a drain on health and social services.

Thank you for turning me on to OCDC. I'm already planning a major donation. Care to match?

My Sunday Best,

Geraldo
