Kulongski spokeswoman not aware that illegal aliens "are an issue"

Immigration-reformers seek state of emergency
A state immigration-reform group wants Kulongoski to follow the lead of the Arizona and New Mexico governors who recently declared states of emergency in counties along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Anna Richter Taylor, a spokeswoman for the governor's office, said the letter had not arrived at the Capitol as of Thursday, but she said she was not aware of plans to declare a state of emergency.

"This is something that's not on the governor's mind right now," Taylor said. "It's not something that I'm aware of as an issue."

Oregon officials said their responsibility is to reach workers, not to investigate how they got to be workers in Oregon, which is a federal issue.
Bank robbery and kidnapping are also federal issues, are Oregon officials not concerned about these crimes?

Enforcing workplace-safety and wage-and-hour laws is a state responsibility, he said.

"These kinds of things are not dependent on a resident's immigration status," Corson said. "Beyond that, we feel it's important to reach out to that population because they're there. They're in the workplace."
Uh, Mr. Corson, they are dependent on a resident's immigration status. Illegal aliens are NOT allowed to work in America. See About Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification

The Guvner might want to peek at the responses the StatesmanJournal has received on their today piece about a need for a State of Emergency.

Go to the bottom of the page and click on View Responses. Don't be surprised if its crashed and that a result of over-activity and little of that pro-Illegal Alien.

I can tell you what is on the Gov's mind.....zzzzzzzzzzzzz's! Wake up, Ted!

Ted wouldn't know an "issue" if it came up and bit him in the butt!!

I'm not going to hold my breath that Ted will even comment on illegal aliens, let alone declare a state of emergency. Remember one of his campaign promises? He was going to find a job for everyone that needed one. I guess that included illegals, too.

Okay, Ted. Go back to sleep now.

I'm so sick of seeing Teddy on the Fox12 "meth watch" series. Even the Fishrwapper's have done extensive stories on the Mexican meth labs and the illegal aliens who bring the drug to our communities.

That Ted doesn't realize this is an issue and would instead outlaw cold pills just shows you what kind of leader he is.

No, Daniel. It shows you what kind of leader he is NOT!!

Daniel, last time I looked Oregon was far from the Mexican border and indeed shares no international borders of any sort. By contrast, Arizona and New Mexico are, of course, right next to Mexico.

Frankly, with all due respect, it is only people like you (in OR, not speaking about any other state)), who wouldn't vote for him for other reasons, that care about this so much. And that is sad, that people dont' see the problems these illegals cause...

Wonder why our Legislature didn't act?

As the investment councilor explained, investing in mortgages to risky home buyers pays Big as you can gore them with penalty fees and % rate increases based on their naughty frequency.

Go here to see that in Spanish.

Our legislature didn't act because they are as useful as a box of doorbells. They don't even know how much money the state has, why should they be able to do anything besides undo everything that was voted for?

The legislature acted! They made us all safer by BANNING SUDAFED!
