YWCA Purple Hands Pledge raises awareness of violence
In an effort to raise awareness about violence against women and minorities, the University’s YWCA is encouraging students to take a pledge to refrain from using words and hands to discriminate and thereby disrespect women and people of racially diverse backgrounds.
However, it was noted that the university still condoned hurtful words and physical violence against white males. "Those crackers keep coming in to our neighborhoods, looking at our women..." said one University official. "It's time we started throwing pies at them"
Students who took the pledge of non-violence towards women and minorites were also offered to sign up for the "why we hate Christians" awareness program. The program, taught at major universities around the country, teaches students that those who believe in some sort of mystical "God" are dangerous and should be demeaned at every chance possible. Brian, a university student said, "I want everyone to feel comfortable sharing their values, that's why we need to eliminate the Christians from campus."

Criminal aliens commit sex crimes
Feds crack down on immigrant child offenders
More than 6,000 netted in 'Operation Predator,' 40% illegal aliens
Known as "Operation Predator," the law enforcement effort is part of a two-year-old Department of Homeland Security initiative carried out by the agency's Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. Some 85 percent of those arrested are foreign-born, according to DHS officials; 40 percent are illegal aliens.
Our state and federal government allows and even encourages these illegal aliens to come here and then they rape our wives and children. How long will we allow it to continue?

The solution we've been looking for...
You may have heard that Janet Reno is in town and while at first this made me nervous, (I assumed that she was hear to burn down my house due to my belief in God and gun rights) but now I realize that her presence is a great opportunity.
We just need to convince her that all the illegal aliens in this state are 6 year old boys from Communist countries whose dictators would like to use them as political props. She will have armed federal agents busting down the doors of the taxpayer funded migrant housing complexes faster than you can say "Cuba's thriving economy."

Who gave us the Communist judge?
Press Release
Governor Kulongoski announced today that he has appointed Mary Mertens James to fill the vacancy on the Marion County Circuit Court bench created by the retirement of Judge Greg West on June 1, 2003. The appointment of Ms. James is effective immediately.
“It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of two very impressive and highly-qualified women to the Marion County bench. I am confident that Judges James and Burton will be exceptional and fair-minded jurists,” the Governor said.
If by "fair minded" you mean upholding the rule of law... as dictated by Fidel Castro.
Governor Kulogoski's appointment has overturned the will of 61% of the Oregon voters. And while this do-nothing governor is out claiming that the "voters have spoken" when it comes to the state giving people permission to kill themselves but he can't even muster a tiny bit of indignation now that Oregonians have had their will trampled on and their private property treated as if government owns it and we are just renters.
I trust that our next governor, Jason Atkinson, will appoint different kinds of judges to the bench. Judges who won't throw out intiative results under the umbrella "equal protection" clause.

I can't wait for my health insurance costs to go up
AHEC Spanish Interpreter Training Proposal Employer Workforce Training Fund:
According to the 2000 census, the Hispanic population of northwest Oregon has increased to 275,314 from 112,707 (in 1990), and an increase of 144%. Yet this official count does not capture the entire picture as there is general recognition that Latinos are significantly undercounted. In fact, one local Hispanic advocacy agency states that the number of undocumented Hispanics in the area is at least equal to the number of immigrants with legal status.
The project need statement goes on to whine about illegal aliens not being able to speak English at the "level that permits him or her to interact effectively with health and social service agencies and providers." To which I say: good! Come here legally and learn some English if you want health care and social services.

The "people's media" coverage of the rally
While we were ignored by The Oregonian (too busy covering a new "mixed-use" building, how exciting) and the Statesmen Journal (too busy with marching bands) and all the tv networks (too busy doing "meth watch" updates that are purely for shock value) the media of the people, the internet, has plenty of stories on the Minuteman rally on Saturday.
Check out Citizen Caucus (whose founders were at the rally) and their slide show.
Oregon Conservative (whose founder was at the rally) has another great article.
For stories from the tolerance crowd check out Portland's "indymedia" and the folks over at BlueOregon who are famous for trying to keep black people from voting. (If I keep saying it over and over then people will believe that it's true!)
A Google news search for the terms "minutemen" "rally" "Salem" reveal the Statesmen Journals pre-announcement of the event and a BlueOregon headline calling us "Xenophobes."
Traditional media be dammed, we all know that if it came to a vote of the people we would not issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens, we would not give them government benefits, we would not print every government document in Spanish, and we would not allow them to continue to come here to sell drugs and rape our women.
We would vote to deport them immediately. The folks in the media can ignore our rally but they can't ignore that fact.

Waste of money Part II
University Park Community Center
A nice little flash intro. Portland government wasted a lot of time on this site rather than say, a sex offender registry site, that would actually fulfill government's real duties: public safety!
The Spanish Google search buttons are above the clearly second-class English search field.
But the best part, new construction! And you know what that means.
Public Art for University Park Community Center (UPPC). RACC is pleased to invite artists/teams working in all media and living in Oregon and Washington to submit qualifications for a Percent for Art project in conjunction with new construction at the University Park Community Center at 9009 N. Foss in North Portland. The art budget is approximately $51,000. Contact Peggy Kendellen, Public Art Manager, at pkendellen@racc.org. Deadline: 10/31/05.
Public Art Mural Program Polices & Guidelines
Just in case you were worried about any racism going on around this obviously "multicultural" affair, the RACC has made it very clear that they will discriminate:

Full time?
Elevator Electrician/Mechanic
$3,121 - $4,359 MONTHLY
This permanent, full-time position is with the Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Facilities Division, Operations and Maintenance Section, located in Salem.
There is no test for this job. If you meet the "To Qualify" requirements on this announcement, your name will be placed on the list with a code of QLF (qualified).
No test? Remind me not to ride in elevators in state buildings....
The purpose of the Elevator Electrician/Mechanic is to troubleshoot, repair, and respond to emergencies for elevators at DAS, and state owned buildings.
The sole purpose of this full time $52,308 a year job (not including benefits) is to respond to elevator emergencies. Now how many of those happen every day? Do we even have an "elevator emergency" every month?
Couldn't a lot of taxpayer money be saved if we simply called in a proffesional elevator repairman, you know, one who actually had to pass a test, for those emergency situations?
This is like keeping a full time heart surgeon on staff for those cardiac arrest emergencies rather than simply taking the heart attack victim to the hospital for that rare occurance.

Cheatings husbands bring AIDS to Mexico
AIDS poses growing health threat for Hispanics
AIDS and HIV infection, which were almost unheard of in the pueblos and villages of southern Mexico five years ago, are rising at startling rates in women infected by migrant husbands upon their return from the United States, experts say.
The Centers for Disease Control reports that 20 percent of the U.S. AIDS cases are found in Hispanics even though they represent 14 percent of the county's overall population.
This statistic is attributed to the "culture" of Mexicans that is raved about and celebrated by every public agency in this state. I propose the diversity slogan: Mexican culture: It kills housewifes.
"It grows with silence and secrecy (and is) an emerging epidemic," Alberto Moreno, a migrant health coordinator with the Oregon Department of Human Services, told a roomful of immigrants from Mexico at the consulate offices in downtown Portland.
Alberto Moreno is our public servant who responded to my email requesting public help for my (imaginary) illegal alien friend. His boss was subsequently called to be on the Lars Larson show and he vowed that public health services would not be supplied to illegal aliens.
But I found this item on the DHS HIV reporting site:
Won't HIV-infected undocumented persons be afraid to seek health care services? There are no surveys or other data to help answer this. Public health services delivered by local health departments and OHS are delivered to everyone regardless of citizenship. As with all public health programs and all reportable diseases, OHS has no obligation or intent to work with the Immigration & Naturalization Service to share information about undocumented persons.
SOURCE
So which is it? Does the state of Oregon use tax dollars, in violation of the law, to help illegal aliens with their self-inflicted health problems or not? Can't we just tell the illegal aliens to stop having sex with underage girls while they are away from their wives in Mexico?

It doesn't exist... oops, I can still find it!
While writing a letter to the editor I went to look at one of the carousel of criminal information brochures that have been hosted on our taxpayer funded government servers. Guess what?
http://egov.oregon.gov/DCBS/DIR/SPANISH/docs/nyssa.pdf
ERROR 404 - File Not Found
They took them all down!
Aha, but do a Google search with the operator "cache:" in front of that address and you get the HTML copy that is stored on Google servers. Sorry Oregon, cover ups aren't as quite as easy in the age of online media and blogs. (ask Dan Rather)

Media: we were busy not mentioning Kelley Wirth's party affiliation
You may not realize this but a political protest happened today. I say that you may not realize it because it wasn't on the news. It won't be in the news tommorow either. The Statesmen Journal gave our event a pre-announcement in their paper but then never sent anyone to cover the actual protest.
Why do they ignore us you wonder? First, they hate the people. The media simply don't like people like you and me. (unless "you" happen to be a government worker) The media has their own ideas about what information should be made available, how that information should be presented and what the end result of the "masses" knowing this information should be.
The issue of stopping illegal immigration is so popular that even the "proffessional" media can't put a big enough spin on it to make it sound good. (This means that they usually spend their time denouncing patriotic Americans as "racist")
So their new strategy? Close their eyes and wait for us to go away! If they don't report on it then they believe that it's like the protest never happened.
In some ways they are right and in some ways they are dead wrong. People were invigorated today. People were encouraged and people were informed. Unfortunately a large segment of our population hasn't been encouraged, informed or invigorated. The media doesn't want them to be.
The lying hypocrites who will cite "majorities who support abortion" won't ever let the words "majorities who oppose illegal immigration" pass their lips. They are not the media for the people.
I would encourage all of you to contact at least one if not all of the media outlets and ask them why they didn't cover today's protest. Take 3 minutes of your time to make a diffence. Let's flood them with this question. Let's make our voices heard.

Illegal immigration protest

It was a little bit wet in Salem but the OFIR protest was great. It's always nice to have a good group of like-minded Americans meet to discuss the problem and possible solutions. We had great speakers including several Minutemen who have been or are going to the border, Victoria Taft, Richard Sturm, Ruth Bendl, Rick Hickey, and myself. (pictured above)

While folks from the media of the people, talk radio and blogs, showed up, there was no sign of any of the mainstream press. I'd like to thank Victoria for being there (860KPAM 6-9pm) as well as bloggers Allen (Allen of Salem) and Nick (the Cheezer) and website operators Michael and Elaine of Citizen Caucus and Cherrill of Oregon Conservative and the Oregon Republican Assembly.
It was nice to hear and see proof of talk radio and blogs getting the word out, helping people network, and encouraging people to become active in issues they care about. Clearly this issue is one at the forefront of a lot of people's minds.

The counter-protest that I was promised (in Spanish, in comments on my blog) never really materialized except for these four. With the usual "no human is illegal" signs I'm sure that they had the support of Kelley Wirth. In all fairness, they did not yell or make a scene and two of them came to talk to me afterwards and they were polite. My wife did say she saw them take my picture (had I known I could have given them a smile) so we'll see where that ends up. I'll even post a picture below for you libs who want to doctor it and put it up on Craig's List along with scurilous lies. Just keep in mind that I have had people kicked off that site for libel before and if you want to put up falsehoods about me then you will be banned as well.

I also had a lot of people come up to me who had never met me in person. If you see me around, whether at a political gathering or not, feel free to come up and say hi. I'm the bald guy who won't shut up.

Judge rules capitalism violates constitution, establishes communism
Voter-Passed Measure 37 Law Is Overturned
SALEM, Ore. - A judge on Friday overturned a voter-passed property compensation law as unconstitutional.
Marion County Circuit Judge Mary James struck down the law as violating five provisions of the state and federal constitutions.
James said the statute violates equal protection provisions of the Oregon Constitution and a state constitutional ban on suspending laws.
If judges did this with right-wing decisions then we would have an open revolt. (admittedly, liberals are girlie-men, so it would be a short-lived revolt) Imagine if a judge ruled the progressive tax unconstitutional because it violates the equal protection clause.

As the interim dean, Robin Holmes plans to make cultural competency a primary goal
Holmes, a clinical psychologist, was appointed interim dean of students in June, a position she said will enable her to continue her work preventing student suicide and help her improve the social environment on campus.
Improving campus-wide cultural competency and suicide prevention are her principle aims as interim dean, Holmes said.
Holmes plans to use her position as interim dean of students to further the University’s cultural competency objectives.
“We’re bringing together a committee of student affairs professionals who are going to work on writing our divisional cultural competency plan,” she said. “I think we can lead the charge in bringing cultural competency to campus.”
To define cultural competency, Holmes draws examples from her work as a psychologist.
A culturally competent campus requires that individuals keep biases and backgrounds from hindering relations with others, Holmes said.
Can anyone find the buzzword?
I think that we refer to people like this as a "one trick pony" and she is a classic example of the myopic mission of people who have had job titles such as "diversity coordinator" for multiple years.
Working Definition of Cultural Competence
Cultural competence is a developmental process occurring at individual and system levels that evolves over an extended time period. Cultural competence requires that individuals and organizations:
a.) Have a defined set of values and principals, demonstrated behaviors, attitudes, policies and
structures that enable them to work effectively in a cross-cultural manner.
b.) Demonstrate the capacity to 1.) value diversity, 2.) engage in self-reflection, 3.) manage the
dynamics of difference, 4.) acquire and institutionalize cultural knowledge, and 5.) adapt to the
diversity and the cultural contexts of the communities they serve.
c.) Incorporate and advocate the above in all aspects of leadership, policy making, administration, practice, and service delivery while systematically involved customers, key stakeholders, and communities.
Do you want the U of O to give your kids a "defined set of values?"

The cost of incarceration
You all know from the list of DOC inmates with an ICE/INS hold that there are 765 illegal aliens sitting in Oregon prisons. What does it cost Oregon taxpayers to house these criminals who shouldn't even be in our country?
Cost per Inmate per Day $ 64.08
X 365
Cost per inmate per year: $23,389.20
X 765
= Taxpayer cost per year: $17,892,738

Does This Law Degree Make My Resume Look Fat?
The only sexism involved in the Miers nomination is the administration's claim that once they decided they wanted a woman, Miers was the best they could do. Let me just say, if the top male lawyer in the country is John Roberts and the top female lawyer is Harriet Miers, we may as well stop allowing girls to go to law school.
Just read it.

It's up to Oregon to deal with global warming
It hurts to think of Oregon's Mid-Valley without pinot noir and vineyards; of a coast where visitors crowd onto a few ragged beaches; of Cascades so dry that ski areas depend on snow machines all winter.
How would Salem's water supply be affected if this watershed became as parched as the Klamath Basin was a few years ago? How would the state cover firefighting costs if every year were a disastrous year for wildfires? How would county health authorities cope if new diseases moved north as temperatures warmed?
Run for your lives!!! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!
As the economists point out, opportunities exist for those who tap the growing market for products to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.
"The economists" are not named specifically as if all economists agree on this one overriding principle. Would a state of "The ecomonomists agree that high taxes are bad for economic growth" ever make it past a Fishwrapper editor?
When entrepreneurs find ways to cut people's commute or trim their electricity bill or fuel bill, people will invest in them. Such alternatives could help offset the shock that global warming could deal Oregon's economy.
Absolutely. That's a free market principle and with the exception of the last sentence I agree. (I don't concede that global warming is manmande.)
Incredible as it seems, the auto industry and some Republicans have been trying to put the brakes on Gov. Ted Kulongoski's initiative to tighten auto-emission standards for cars and trucks. They've filed a lawsuit to keep Oregon from adopting California's stricter standards instead of the feds' ho-hum ones.
But instead of "entrepreneurs" and the market dictating the best solution, the Fishwrapper wants government to make a decree and the loyal subjects to simply bend over and take it. No thanks.
No thanks.

Now I remember, THIS is why I strongly oppose the gay agenda
The other day I was reading the Fishwrapper and I noticed the name "Savage." With fond thoughts of Michael Savage in my mind I started reading the article and was absoulutely disgusted by what I read.
Dan Savage, is the mouthpiece (no pun intended) for the gay movement in Seattle and his comments are the prime examples of the social degeneration that liberals, and gays in particular, want our society to embrace.
Some excerpts:
Savage -- who with his boyfriend, Terry, adopted their young son D.J. from a homeless Portland birth mother...
I'm sure they'll seize on the not-necessarily-monogamous stuff... This country has totally unrealistic expectations about monogamy. What are the odds of straight couples being totally monogamous over 40 or 50 years?
Good idea Savage, set the expectations low.
D.J.'s mom is on the streets. She was the most responsible drug-and-alcohol-plagued street kid I've ever met. She stayed clean for her entire pregnancy, and I feel very protective of her. But now, we don't know where she is.
I know that I'm always describing drug plagued street kids as responsible...
Straight people, the fins are sticking out of the water and the shark is coming for you, too.
Threats from the tolerance crowd.
Anyway, I brought this up even though it was a couple days ago because this idiot is also in the Portland Mercury.
What prompted so many young straights to run off and live like homos? I have a theory: A lot of the early opposition to the Gay Lifestyle was motivated by envy. Straight people resented gay people for giving themselves permission to do what a lot of straight people wanted to do but couldn't—have fun while you're young, sleep around while you're hot, and live someplace more interesting than the suburbs.
That sounds great! Doing drugs, have anonymous sex, no limits and no rules! That's what everyone should want! Thank goodness that there's no such thing as lasting consequences...
My point is, they gay movement is all about selfishness, a lack of responsibility and a tearing apart of the social fabric. They celebrate absolute anarchy while pretending to want happy families. (Two dads to their son: don't forget to "sleep around while you're hot")

Every holiday but the American ones
Monday was Columbus day, an American holiday. But Oregon's calendar of "diversity events" makes no mention of this day. Rather they focus on:
Oct 12 NATIONAL DAY IN SPAIN. This holiday commemorates the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus and Spain’s gaining of a colonial empire.
Good enough for Spain, not good enough for America.
Oct 12 TALK AND DISCUSSION: "COLUMBUS: HERO OR MENACE?" Chemeketa Community College, Multicultural Center, Salem, Oregon. 1-2:30pm. Free. All welcome. Instructor Taylor Marrow will speak. Sponsored by the Multicultural Center and the Cultural Forum. INFO: 503/399-5143.
I'm guessing that Columbus won't be refered to as a "hero" at this talk. Something along the lines of "genocidal maniac who began America's colonialism and oppression of indigeounous people" is probably what you would here.
Oct 12-13 INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ DAY. Chemeketa Community College, Student and Multicultural Centers, Salem, Oregon. 10am-3pm. Free. All welcome. Sponsored by the Multicultural Center and the Cultural Forum. INFO: 503/399-5143.
This is celebrated because "In recent years, the holiday (Columbus Day) has been rejected by many people who view it as a celebration of conquest and genocide. In its place, Indigenous Peoples Day is celebrated. "
Can one of you goo liberals explain to me how you got this way? Did your mothers not love you?

Government finds itself in a hole, starts to dig it's way out
Discrimination claims costing Oregon millions
Oregon taxpayers have shelled out more than $16.5 million over the past decade to fight and pay off employment discrimination claims lodged against state government.
Ross said seven state agencies -- including the Department of Human Services -- have already started looking at where they might improve. Affirmative action representatives from various agencies meet once a month to talk about state hiring and employment practices and will look more deeply at the data to identify trends and problem areas.
That is the first and last paragraph from this story and I think that it shows what the problem is.
Liberals and state government have convinced minorities and women that they are victims. They convinced them that no one will give them contracts or hire them simply because of their gender or skin color. They've said that it's so bad that government must put aside special contracts just for the women and minority victims. It's so bad that they must have "affirmative action" to hire women and minorities rather than hire on merit.
Once hired, the employees must listen to their "diversity manager" prattle on about "institutionalized racism" and "glass ceilings."
All these things are designed to make women and minorities feel like everyone is out to get them, that the only possible reason for not getting that promotion, corner office, etc is that people are discriminating against them.
And now the state is suprised that women and minorities that work for state government are acting like the victims that the state told them they were.
But instead of saying "enough with this diversity nonsense" it looks as if the diversity folks are instead going to assume that it is actual discrimination and go even further with the affirmative action and diversity garbage.

New Mac Johnson column (hit's it right on the head)
Are Conservatives the Black Voters of the Republican Party?
Conservatives feel that they are taken for granted by the Republican Party and are the first group to be slighted when compromises have to be made. They are the fundraising base, the volunteer base and the turnout base, but they have been forced to swallow an unfathomably large expansion of Medicare so that Bush can be said to have “done something” about the fact that prescription drugs aren’t magically free.
They have had to watch in horror as Bush stumbled arm-in-arm with Teddy Kennedy to expand the Department of Education into a more powerful centralized bureaucracy than any Democrat ever dreamed of making it.
And if Bush gets his way, they will soon be forced to swallow yet another risky “stealth” nominee to the Supreme Court, and then a stealth amnesty for the 10-20 million illegal aliens that have smuggled themselves into the Country in the last two decades.
Mac Johnson correctly identifies the problem and has come to the same conclusion that I have: Not voting hurts us worse than anything, giving money and support to the interest groups and specific candidates is much better than giving or volunteering for the RNC, and the primary system is the way to move the party to the right.

Only Spanish speakers should apply
PUBLIC SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE 4
(Benefit Consultant - Bilingual, Spanish)
$2,258 - $3,121 MONTHLY
(This salary includes a 5% bilingual differential.)
This position is with the Workers' Compensation Division, Compliance Section, Benefit Consultation Unit, of the Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS), and is located in Salem.
As you know from my previous post, the DCBS doesn't want to know if illegal aliens are getting wokers comp benefits.
"The Board supported the general policy that our employees not seek out or report immigration status of any parties who come before this agency."
But the bigger problem for me is that we need benefits workers who speak Spanish. How does a worker get by at a job if they speak no English? Could someone who doesn't speak English function as your co-worker? No.
But some jobs have become Spanish-speaking only positions. If anything is keeping Americans from doing certain jobs that illegal aliens do then it is this. Just as someone who speaks no English couldn't function working with people who don't speak Spanish, an English speaker couldn't work at a construction job site where his co-workers don't speak the same language.
Why would you bother applying to work in agriculture if you have a different culture and language than everyone else? How could you possibly work in a restraunt kitchen if you can't even communicate with the other cooks?
Farmers, contractors and restraunt owners need to stop saying that they can't find American workers if the current majority of their workforce is Spanish speaking.

Mexican meth news from across the country
Crystal meth: Itawamba's silent addiction
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, meth is one of the most rampant and dangerous drugs on the rise in Mississippi. The DEA web site goes as far to say that the drug is reaching “epidemic proportions in the state.”
“Most of the ice that is coming into the area is Mexican,” he said. “There are no labs that are capable of making ice in the county that we know of.”
As U.S. Meth Labs Dry Up, Mexican Cartels Step In
As Congress considers restrictions on the sale of cold pills used to make methamphetamine, it might want to look at what's happened in Oklahoma, which has slashed the number of home meth labs yet failed to curb meth use.
But police say a massive influx of meth made by Mexican "superlabs," which can obtain tons of pseudoephedrine, has kept meth plentiful and potent. The number of Oklahoma users shows no sign of falling, and property crime still keeps the Oklahoma County Jail at capacity.
Man sentenced in meth conspiracy
A Mexican citizen living in Joplin received 12 years in prison Wednesday for participating in a methamphetamine conspiracy.
Limon-Gonzalez has admitted he conspired with others to distribute 50 to 200 grams of meth as early as Nov. 11, 2003, to March 4 in Jasper County, (Missouri) the U.S. Attorney's Office said. He also admitted illegally re-entering the United States after being deported in 1996.
Nine indicted in meth conspiracy
A federal grand jury in Springfield indicted eight men and a woman this week for allegedly conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in southwest Missouri.
Those indicted included Adan Mendez-Rivera, 26, Raul Alberto-Guerrero, 31, and Geronimo Velasquez-Gomez, 28, all Mexican citizens residing in Carthage; Carlos Mulgado, 36, of Carthage; Polo Hinojosa-Garcia, 24, a Mexican citizen residing in the Joplin area; Noel Fonseca-Garcia, 20, a Mexican citizen residing in Pittsburg, Kan., and Armando Figueroa-Dominguez, 31, a Mexican citizen residing in Rogers, Ark.
Battling the meth `epidemic'
Unfortunately, success in closing such domestic labs won't stop meth. It only means that Mexican cartels pick up the slack. An investigation by The Oregonian newspaper in Portland, Ore., reported that Mexico last year imported nearly twice as much pseudoephedrine--one of the keys to illegal meth production--than is necessary for the production of cold medicine.
Sheriff: Meth 'creates havoc throughout the whole system'
But the slack has been picked up by supplies coming in from out of state, most of it from Mexican sources, and U.S. Highway 101 has become a major corridor for traffickers, Bergin said. Just last month police, with the help of a drug-sniffing dog, found a quarter-pound of meth hidden in the dashboard of a car during a traffic stop.
Meth crisis in the valley getting out of control
Methamphetamine crime is reaching epidemic levels in Idaho.
Idaho State Police say that 90 percent of meth found in Idaho comes from Mexico. The other 10 percent is from homemade meth labs in the Gem State.
Methamphetamine addiction chokes Tennessee
Unfortunately, the story is not unique. Meth addiction has become an epidemic in Tennessee—the state’s law enforcement busted 1,574 clandestine meth labs last year, ranking us runner-up in the nation in lab seizures, second only to Missouri. Though many law enforcement officers are optimistic about Gov. Phil Bredesen’s Anti-Meth law, which passed in April and has greatly reduced the number of lab seizures across the state already, they say importation—from Mexico and super-labs in bigger cities like Atlanta—is filling the void.
Meth: More Iowans fall hard as 'ice age' takes hold
Mexican cartels have seized on a void left in the drug market created when hard-hit meth states began to place much tighter restrictions on sales of cold products containing pseudoephedrine, Iowa's undercover drug agents say.
In recent months, dealers have been peddling a more-expensive, more-pure brand of ice made in Mexico that has been smuggled through existing pipelines along interstates from the Southwest, particularly Arizona.
Local briefs
Two Mexican nationals pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to federal charges involving methamphetamine, cocaine and firearms.
Martinez and Nieves-Villareal were arrested in July after the Escambia County (Florida) Sheriff's Office said officers seized 9 ounces of meth with an estimated street value of $50,000, 3 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $250,000, an Uzi submachine gun, a Mac-90, two automobiles and $20,000 cash.
Task force faces big challenges
However, the greatest challenge facing Phillips and the drug task force is the influx of meth into North Platte. First introduced in North Platte in the 1990s by a group of bikers, Phillips said he believes it is now coming in from Mexico and delivered into North Platte. (Nebraska)
6 to face meth charges in federal court
San Diego- Six people face arraignment in federal court Tuesday on charges of importing methamphetamine from Mexico and distributing the drug in San Diego.
Alven Armando Diaz, Robin Cheri McMasters, Arnulfo Campas-Cuadras, Alma Ramos-Gutierrez, Karely Diaz-Hernandez and Armando Ayala Diaz were charged in an eight-count indictment with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, and distribution, possession and importation of the drug.
I think that you get my point. These are not news stories from the last year or the last six months. These are all recent stories. The list I find is almost endless.
I highlight the state and the country of origin (Mexico) of the meth but what isn't shown is the absolute devastation that this causes our local communities and our country as a whole.
The reduction in availability of meth would be instant if we would only stop illegal border crossings. The reduction in crime would follow. The burden on law enforcement would lessen and our quality of life would improve.
It's hard to find such complex problems that have such simple solutions to provide sweeping relief. Until our national, state and local governments give us nothing but lip service on meth reduction when they ignore the one solution that would have the biggest effect.

Saturday, October 15, 1 p.m.
Oregonians for Immigration Reform (OFIR) will stage a rally on the steps of the State Capitol Building in Salem, on Saturday, October 15 at 1 pm.
The rally will honor the modern day Minutemen who have volunteered to patrol our borders with Mexico and Canada and report attempts of illegal aliens to enter our country. In addition OFIR members are sending a message to the Oregon State government that its complicity in aiding and abetting illegal immigration must stop.
The list of speakers will include:
State Representative and and KXL talk show host Jeff Kropf
KPAM Talk Show host Victoria Taft
KPNW Talk Show host Richard Sturm
Ruth Bendl, Voter Integrity Project
Daniel Miglavs, Daniel is Right Blog
Rick Hickey, OFIR Vice President
Oregon veterans of the Minuteman border watch project
Songbird Cindy Tilkens will sing the Star Spangle Banner and her own composition of a song about illegal immigration.
"Illegal immigration is negatively affecting our public schools, the sanctity of our elections, the Oregon Health Plan, the criminal justice system, our natural environment, and our livability," OFIR President Jim Ludwick stated. "Polls show that by an overwhelming majority, most Americans want illegal immigration ended and our borders secured. Despite that, the federal government refuses to enforce our immigration laws, and our state government continues to aid and abet illegal immigration into Oregon. Oregon is the only state west of the Mississippi that openly acknowledges that it issues driver licenses to illegal aliens. Furthermore, the administration under Gov. Kulongoski actively encourages illegal aliens to participate in taxpayer-funded benefits and services."
Ludwick invited everyone who is opposed to illegal immigration to join the rally.

Liberals hate
BlueOregon, the folks that try to keep black people from voting (If I say it over and over then people will assume it's true) did a post on the head of the Oregon Christian Coalition being accused of child molestation.
The post didn't offer any opinions but the liberals who commented afterwards did:
I get a certain sense of pleasure when someone who attacks the morality of my being gay when they have been accused of child molestation.
Let me get this straight... a big, white, dopey bible-thumping Christian Coalition leader who says his morals are better than us... has been focking his little daughters and nieces... for years now.
In a general way, I think two recent studies shed some light on this phenomenon:
[1] Religious devotion sets the United States apart from some of its closest allies.
[2] More than one in four U.S. adults per year have some form of mental illness or substance abuse.
How tolerant. If any of you have gotten "a certain sense of pleasure" over any child molestation then stop reading my blog right now and commit yourself to a mental institution.
The reason that "values voters" and Christians don't vote for Democrats is... Democrats HATE religious people. They hate the idea of morality. They hate the idea of something larger than their own selfish desires. They hate the thought of some behavior being off limits because it's wrong.
They hate the thought of being accountable for their actions. They hate the thought of consequences for lifestyles or choices they make. They hate people who disagree with them. They hate the idea of an authority larger than themselves. They hate, hate, hate.
For another offense against Christianity take a look at some "art" hanging at Willamette University.

Yes, I plan to scapegoat criminals
Dean: GOP to Scapegoat Immigrants in Next Election
At a rally, Dean garnered the loudest applause when he said Republicans would make immigration a pivotal issue during upcoming elections, as they did gay marriage and affirmative action in previous elections.
That's because those were winning issues for us then as well.
"Do you know who the scapegoats are going to be? Immigrants," he said. "In Colorado, the chairman of the Republican Party endorsed Tom Tancredo (search) for re-election. That is morally reprehensible. The governor of California, a supposed moderate Republican, invited the Minutemen to visit California. We do not need vigilante justice."
This is good news for us if the Democrats want to take the side of criminals when it comes time to debate this issue in upcoming elections. I had assumed that they would try their best to avoid the issue, (with a little help from their friends in the media) or offer the generic "we must reform the immigration system" response followed by no specifics.
But instead the liberals go back to their usual tactic of calling Republicans names. I can only hope that they start calling us names in Spanish, that would go over real well with the electorate.

The "party of the people"
Governor Ted Kulongoski kicked off the Oregon Summit tonight, saying "Let the Republicans worry about the richest Americans; we Democrats will take care of everyone else."
With much anticipation I wondered, what will the "party of the little guy" do this weekend at their Summit Event. Will they feed the poor? Will they play midnight basketball with gang members? With they help with the interior decorating at Dignity Village?
Alas, none of this happened. Instead, the Democrat's Oregon Summit was held at Sunriver "Pinnacles of Luxury" Resort. The regular rates are for a room are:
Regular Rate - 209.00 USD Avg/Per Night.
But if you really want to look out for the little people you would get this:
Unlimited Resort Course Package - 378.00 USD Avg Rate
To be fair, it looks as if the Democrats secured a block room rate well below Sunriver Resort's normal rate which started at $95 per person per night.
But thankfully, they stopped the indulgence with their luxurious accomadations. That is, unless you count the Golf Tournament with Governor Kulongoski. And just when you thought that the Democrat party was the "inclusive" party: Tee times are reserved for members and Resort guests only.
I am hoping that during the Inspirational Closing Lunch With Congressman Peter DeFazio the Democrats were able to talk about hunger and poverty. All while eating things from the Sunriver Menu like Filet Mignon, Grilled Lamb Loin Chops, Wild Sockeye Salmon, and Meadows Thai Prawns...
Do you think that anyone who makes minumum wage eats off that menu, plays on that golf course, stays at that resort? Neither do I.
Also contradicting the liberals usual desire to "keep religion out of politics" the Summit included a "break out" session titled:
Session C: Courtney Dillard, Adam Rose - Winning Value Voters: Activating and Organizing The Religious Left
So let's all tremble as the Religious Left organizes. I think that all 6 of them are meeting at Steve's house...
For you bussiness owners looking to market your product or service:
The Oregon Summit 2005 is a great opportunity to showcase your organization to Oregon’s progressive community. This is a loyal and committed demographic (they haven’t shopped at Wal-mart in years) that you don't want to overlook!
They haven't shopped at Wal-Mart in years. Wow. Ok, if you want to advertise simply fill out this form, then this one, no no, we have restrictions on that, wait until an inspector can look at this one, sign here, pay this fee, there are some lengthy regualtions on the colors you can use, ok, there is a fee for that one, fill out this form, I'll have to get a supervisor over here, ok, good, pay this fee and the committee will get back to you in about 3 months.

Another state agency with the "see no evil" attitude
Workers' Compensation Board Meeting
The Board supported the general policy that our employees not seek out or report immigration status of any parties who come before this agency. The Board felt that distributing this policy to our employees made a sufficient enough statement to employees, and that individual counseling and obtaining employees' signatures were unnecessary.
Why would an agency whose purpose is to help enforce labor laws turn a blind eye to blatant violations? Why would they ignore a known problem?
The answer: these people are sick in the head.

I concede, Mexicans contribute to agriculture...
Rural areas seek help stopping pot crop
In terraced dirt, nurtured by an elaborate sprinkler system, 465 marijuana plants have been quietly tucked away, obscured by the winding branches of vine maple and alder bushes.
Law enforcement officials have seized thousands of plants in Washington state in recent months, forcing them to abandon their ongoing battle on methamphetamine for days at a time.
...increasing enforcement in California and Oregon is pushing pot production by Mexican nationals north.
The U.S. Department of Justice noted in July that Mexican drug traffickers were expanding their areas of operation, with continued growth expected in isolated areas of Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
The largest, a field of more than 60,000 plants on south-central Washington's Yakama Indian Reservation, was traced to organized crime in Mexico.
How I would cover this if I wrote for The Oregonian:
Meet Juan, a hardworking migrant who left his family in Mexico with dreams of a better life for all of them. "I wanted to make more money" explained Juan, "and I don't mind breaking the law."
Every day hundreds of migrants just like Juan get an early start on the day walking through large forested areas to get to their work site. Pruning, planting, fertilizing, and picking are all jobs that must be done manually by this largely underground workforce.
"I send money back to my family" says Juan. "It helps to pay off the corrupt Mexican officials" Laborers like Juan are trying to make a decent life for themselves but some people in the community are upset. "We wish they would stop breaking the laws" says one member of a racist group known as the "Woodburn Police."
But this hatred doesn't stop people like Juan from wanted to experience the American dream. "The city built us a nice apartment complex, they give us free food, they pay for my electricity, and I get to smoke all the pot I want. I still consider Mexico to be a better country though." "Americans don't treat me fairly" asserts Juan.

Instead of seeking public approval, gays turn hatred towards Minnis
Gay-rights group won't pursue initiative
Basic Rights Oregon announced Friday it will not pursue an initiative next year that would allow civil unions for same-sex couples or ban discrimination based on sexual orientation.
"Our decision to not do a campaign, I don't think, is a signal of any kind that we would lose or that there was no way we could win," Kassel said. "It was that it wasn't the best way for us to win."
Going to the citizens of Oregon isn't "the best way" for the radical homosexuals to win. Instead they work on electing representatives who ignore the will of the people in favor of special interest groups like Basic Rights.
Kassel said her group would work next year to defeat Republicans such as House Speaker Karen Minnis, R-Wood Village, who during this year's legislative session refused to allow a House debate or vote on SB 1000.
Of course, in all this "grassroots" stuff that the Fishwrapper reports on they seem to have left out the fact that Basic Rights is suing to overturn Measure 36! Is that considered "grassroots?"
But don't think that Basic Rights is content with eliminating their "enemy number 1" (Karen Minnis) and overturning Measure 36 through the courts. Absolutely not. These are radical people whose complete agenda will never be discussed in the Fishwrappers because if the genereal public would never accept it.
Some examples:
Employees should not be forced to use bathrooms that do not correspond to their gender identity. Like all employees, transgender people need access to safe and dignified restroom facilities. SOURCE
So the freak that thinks that he's a woman wants to share a bathroom with you, your wife, or your daughter. And Basic Rights thinks the law should make that OK.
Our suggestion is to have a non-gender specific dress code. If you choose to have a gender specific dress code, different trans people will have different needs when it come to dress code policies.
Because Basic Rights thinks that having a man wearing heels and a dress should be working the front door of a children's toy store.
These people are simply selfish and sick. HRC, a national group, has a Q & A section where a parent says that her 7 year old daughter thinks she's a boy. The "expert" replied by saying that the family should not seek therapy but instead he offered to put this 7 year old girl in touch with a high school kid who had "a similair experience." Wonder how that would turn out.
I think that it's important not to forget that these people are slowly institutionalizing their perversity into every facet of public life. Whether they do it through innocent sounding campaigns such as "safe schools" (for gays, not safe for Christians) or "hate crimes" legislation that makes some people more important than others or simply going after a company, city, or county to change their "discrimination" policies to make bathrooms "gender neutral."
We are under constant attack and I truly believe that if we allow society to say that the traditional family is not neccessary then this country is doomed.

Something different for Saturday
I thought that I would do something different for Saturday and do a post that doesn't relate to politics at all. That's right, I'm not going to talk about Democrats who try to keep black people from voting. (If I say it over and over then people will assume it's true!)
Instead I'm going to talk about a great little program called WindowBlinds. I use it to customize the appearance of my computer and you can change it as much as you want. The shareware version of the program is free and definitely worth checking out if you are a computer geek.
WindowBlinds is part of a suite of programs called ObjectDesktop that can be used to customize your icons, your cursor, your startup splash and pretty much everything.
WinCustomize has thousands of free WindowBlinds skins, custom icons, cursors, wallpapers, etc.
It's stuff like this that makes me happy that Al Gore invented the internet. (But I'm still upset that he tried to prevent black people from voting in Florida...)

Why Mannix is not my candidate Part II
OK, I found this interesting tidbit on the BlueOregon website. Yes, those facists at BlueOregon who try to keep black people from voting. (If I say it over and over then people will assume it's true!)
They had the Oregon League of tree huggers, er, Conservation Voters scoring for the gubernatorial candidates.
The best part is the Mannix scores: "his rating as a Republican in 1999 was 9%. His rating during his previous time when he was a Democrat (remember that?) was 60.5%."
Why the flip-flop Kevin? Was Steve Duin around for this one too?
Less notable but still laughable, Kevin's state elections pamphlet from his (democrat) run for Attorney General lists his educational background as: B.A., Liberal Arts, 1971, law degree, 1974, University of Virginia.
His pamphlet from his (Republican) run for governor list his education background as: Bachelor of Arts and Law Degrees, University of Virginia.
It went from "liberal arts" to simply "arts." (as if there was any other kind)
The question for me is, when Kevin Mannix takes a stance on an issue is it because he truly believes in it? Or is it because it's a political neccessity to further his career?
I'm voting for the principled candidate Senator Jason Atkinson.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am voting for Atkinson for Governor. However I am not in any way affiliated with his campaign. I am criticizing Mannix, and will continue to, but "State Sen. Jason Atkinson, R-Central Point, the other candidate in the race, said he didn't want to attack a fellow Republican." SOURCE (source also happens to be a dig at Mannix, that's a bonus)
The bottom line, I don't mind so-called "attack ads" and "smear campaigns" but Jason does. My blog is my own.

Mannix then VS Mannix now
We've got a primary election coming up soon and candidates are doing what they can to appeal to their perceived constituencies. One of the very important issues in the Republican primary (and the general election) is the problem of Oregon being friendly to illegal aliens.
All three gubernatorial candidates have called in to Lars Larson's show to denounce illegal immigration and call for tough measures to combat the invasion.
One caller in paticular stands out for me though. Kevin Mannix has been calling in to Lars' show with increasing frequency lately. You can here his "tough" position on illegal aliens at Lars' site HERE.
That audio is a statement from Candidate Mannix. But what did head-of-the-GOP Mannix say in December of 2003 about Lars?
"I'm not a regular listener, and when I listen, I'm looking for the news. I don't follow the commentary stuff."
But more importantly, what did he say about an email that contained some suggestions from KXL listeners for humorous alternatives to the state motto such as:
Oregon: Se Habla Espanol
Oregon: Welcome to Little Mexico
"I choked when I looked at the stuff."
"I wasn't even aware we had circulated it. As soon as I heard about it, I was upset."
"These caustic remarks are inappropriate. I think you could tell from my presentation today that I'm trying to get us to present a broader vision of what's good for the people of this state, and not engage in this personalized nastiness."
These comments were made to Oregonian columnist Steve Duin whose column stated that "Mannix couldn't backpedal away from the e-mail fast enough."
Fast forward to 2005 and we have Oregonian articles that describe Woodburn like this:
Most of the signs are in Spanish, but don't let that intimidate you as you enter the color-splashed, six-block grid affectionately known as "Little Mexico," sandwiched between Front and First streets downtown.
But Mannix was "very upset" that anybody would refer to Oregon as "little Mexico" or that someone would say that we speak Spanish here.
There are two possibilities for the inconsistencies by Mannix.
One, he folded under pressure. Mannix couldn't take a principled stand on this issue to Steve Duin because he wants approval from the liberal establishment. This indicates to me that he would do the same thing if he were elected governor. He can talk a good game now but what happens when the liberals or an important Republican constituency wants the illegal aliens to be left alone?
Two, he is two-faced. Mr. "I don't listen to Lars" now calls him to get free air time. Mr. "broader vision" now wants to take on immigration because it's a huge issue with almost every voting Republican in Oregon.
Either way, I'm going to vote for a candidate with some integrity: Senator Jason Atkinson!

Oregon doesn't discrimante based on age, sex, criminal status...
From the Oregon Employment Department:
The Employment Department is an equal opportunity agency and does not discriminate in providing services on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, nation of origin, age, disability, political affiliation or belief, citizenship, or marital status.
Apparently they offer equal opportunities to people who have broken our immigration and labor laws. Violate the employment laws all you want, the deparment charged with enforcing them simply doesn't care!
For those of you who read my site and don't speak English, the state offers employment info on Spanish only pages as well:

Ann Coulter column on the SCOTUS confirmation
This Is What 'Advice and Consent' Means
Unfortunately for Bush, he could nominate his Scottish terrier Barney, and some conservatives would rush to defend him, claiming to be in possession of secret information convincing them that the pooch is a true conservative and listing Barney's many virtues–loyalty, courage, never jumps on the furniture ...
Coulter is another conservative who thinks the Miers nomination is a joke.

Need a break from the stress?
We all need to take some time to relax. To do something fun. Enjoy ourselves.
But Daniel, you ask, what kind of recreational activities could I do? Good question, I would suggest:
Soccer leagues
Basketball leagues
Volleyball leagues
Pickle-ball leagues (like tennis with a wiffle-ball and high net)
Iron Man competitions
Annual summer yard concerts
Native American pow-wow's
Latino Folkloric Ballet
Those sound like fun, tell me more...
How about:
Weight lifting
Jogging / walking trail
Hackey-sack
Yes, yes?
Aerobics
Yoga
Stationary bicycles
Bingo
Karaoke
Numerous board games and other indoor activities (cards, chess, etc.)
Current-run movies are shown nightly
But Daniel, where could I go that all of those wonderful things are offered? Is there some great resort package that includes all of the above? Is it on a cruise? A health club?
No my friends. It's a facility in Northeast Portland called... the Columbia River Correctional Institution.
With all these perks it's no wonder that illegal aliens come here to commit their crimes. Is it time to make prison a place that isn't so fun to go to?

I learned it in school
Medical Marijuana Class Offered at UCC
Those interested in learning more about medical marijuana can take a five-week class at Umpqua Community College starting Oct. 4.
The class, from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, will teach topics such as the history of the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act, state and federal laws, patient-caregiver relationships and safety and security matters.
Good use of a taxpayer funded institution.
From UCC website:
UCC is a two-year public, comprehensive institution that offers educational programs in adult basic education, technical, vocational, liberal arts, and pre-professional transfer courses.
Most of the population is trying to keep drugs out of the public schools. But here in Oregon we make sure our students are well versed in all matters relating to the hippie lettuce.

I want to be independant... do I have your permission?
With headlines such as this, The dying, not the feds, deserve final say on life, popping up all over the place due to Oregon's assisted suicide law going to court, I thought that I would point out one very important fact.
Having to get the state's permission to kill yourself, having to prove this and that, having to meet certain benchmarks and criteria, does not make you "independant."
You didn't have the "final say." Doctors and the state law did.
Suicide is wrong, but if you want to kill yourself to have the "final say" then do it yourself. You don't need government's approval and no matter what the Supreme Court says, they can't stop you from putting a gun in your mouth and pulling the trigger.

VISION: The City of Portland (City) is an effective multicultural organization, which is an employer of choice for people seeking employment. The culture of the City is inclusive, embraces diversity and supports cultural competency. The City's work force is diverse and culturally competent and uses its diversity to serve the City.
How many times can you use the word diversity in one statement?
Diversity Vision: The City of Portland is an effective multicultural organization. Its work environment is inclusive, embraces diversity, and supports cultural competency. Its workforce uses its diversity and cultural competency to serve the culturally diverse residents of Portland.
Oh wait, they beat their own record! (4 culturals)
That second link is especially awful. Do these people not see their own myopic vision? "Diversity" is their god. If they don't pray to their god as often as possible they feel guilty and that's probably when they lash out at colorblind conservatives.
This is indicative of all state and local governments in Oregon. They all do this cultural competency nonsense. They are obsessed with it. It literally consumes them and tax dollars at the same time.

They came here to work hard
*INS detainer list for Oregon DOC*
This is the most disturbing, but not suprising, thing that I have seen in a long time. If I were to ask you how many people in the DOC (department of corrections) aka prison inmates, have an INS/ICE (immigration) hold, how many would you say?
Wait, before you answer, the total DOC population is 12,918. (09/01/05)
Ok, the number of inmates with an INS detainer: 765! (09/08/05)
That's 6% of the prison population. Keep in mind that other inmates might be illegal aliens but INS has not bothered to go after them.
Oregon's total population is 3,421,399. This means that the percentage of citizens who are in DOC custody is .00377564% (truncated)
If illegal aliens committed crimes at the same rate as the rest of Oregon's population that would mean that we have 202,615 illegal aliens in our state.
For comparison purposes: that's about the population of Tigard (41,223) Eugene (137,893) and Oregon City (23,499) put together.
Clearly illegal aliens commit crimes (above and beyond the crime of violating our immigration laws) at a higher rate than the general population.
And let's not kid ourselves about where these criminals come from. Garcia, Gonzales, Hernadez, Lopez, Ramirez, etc are the most common last names on the list.
Why do we accept the rapes, sodomies, sex abuses, drug manufacturing, drug selling, assaults and murders committed by these people? Do we really think that having an illegal labor pool is so important that we will sacrifice thousands of women and young girls to sexual abuse? Do you think that the families of the murder victims would be willing to pay more for strawberries in return for having their wife/husband/son/daughter back alive?
When I going through this list (I'm having trouble doing my own FTP site, will email to Lars and hopefully he will put it on his site for viewing/download) it's important to slow down. It's 22 pages long but instead of scrolling through it, take a minute to read it line by line. Imagine the victims of these crimes.
Think about the awful terror that children must have felt when they were victimized by these criminal aliens. Think about the families at the funerals. Think about the neglected children. Think about the scourge of meth that these people have helped to put on our community.
And to people like Ron Wyden, people who say that strawberries are worth this, you are less than human.

Show Oregon ID and be on your way...
Washington pair nabbed on I-5 with meth cache
A routine traffic stop on Interstate 5 led troopers to a six-pound stash of methamphetamine and cash Thursday morning.
The driver, Victorino Santos-Andres, 18, of Lacey, Wash., could not produce identification, prompting Watson to take him into custody.
"Enough probable cause was then established to lead us to search the vehicle," Watson said.
Officials from Immigration and Naturalization Services determined that both men are illegal aliens.
Read that again. If the driver had been able to produce identification, such as an Oregon drivers license, he would probably have been cited for whatever the "routine" traffic stop (tailight, etc) was for.
It was only because he did not have a drivers license that the police were able to search his vehicle.
Who knows how many drugs have not been intercepted because Oregon does give licenses to these criminal aliens. It is pure hypocrisy to claim to be fighting a "war on meth" while at the same time arming the enemy with the tools they need to continue in their criminal trade.

What has Oregon created?
Taking effect on January 1, 2006 our genuises in the legislature have made some changes to Oregon's "medical" marijuana law. Some highlights:
Patients or Caregivers may store up to 24 ounces of useable marijuana at the patient's growsite or residence, or any combination of the two locations not exceeding 24 ounces.
Patients may possess up to 24 ounces of marijuana away from their growsite or home.
Patients and Caregivers may reimburse the person responsible for a marijuana grow site for the costs of supplies and utilities associated with the production of marijuana for the registry identification cardholder. No other costs associated with the production of marijuana for the registry identification cardholder, including the cost of labor, may be reimbursed.
So "patients" may grow more pot, possess more pot, and even pay someone to grow their pot. (but not pay for the pot) I think that they rely on the "honor system" for that last rule.
So what kind of people are we helping with these wonderful new rules? Read from Oregon's leading marijuana reform site:
At Oregon NORML, we are leading the fight for commonsense regulation of the most useful plant ever known to mankind -- cannabis hemp.
Even more useful than trees!!
Most importantly, we work to reform state and federal laws regarding marijuana and bring an end to the harassment, arrest, and imprisonment of responsible taxpaying American citizens.
Last time I checked you couldn't be arrested, harassed, or imprisoned for being a responsible taxpaying American citizen. Those things could happen if you broke the law though.
There are quite a few pages on this site that are "under construction." I'm assuming that construction will resume right after Spongebob is over and the cheetos have run out.

From the 2005 "Million Marijuana March"
NOTE: While not actually getting a million people to turn out the organizers would like you to keep in mind that since the march was held in the early afternoon many of the would be participants were still sleeping but supported the march "in principle."

Random things that piss me off
If I was independently wealthy I would do nothing but hire lawyers to sue these people/groups out of existence.
Scholarships/Becas
For ALL Students Regardless of Immigration Status
Para TODO estudiante sin importar su estatus inmigratorio
Who provides scholarships that violate federal law by discriminating on the basis of race, national origin or sexual orientation? Just a few of the many:
Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)/Club Musica Latino (CML)-Scholarship Program
Requirements:
*Applicants must be of Hispanic background, Club Musica Latino members, and entering freshmen or sophomores at a four year college.
PFLAG-HATCH Youth Scholarship Program
Requirements:
* Graduating lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender student.
From a government FAQ:
Public health services delivered by local health departments and OHS are delivered to everyone regardless of citizenship. As with all public health programs and all reportable diseases, OHS has no obligation or intent to work with the Immigration & Naturalization Service to share information about undocumented persons.
From a health law website:
Oregon Update: As of March 1, 2000, undocumented Oregonians can prequalify for an emergency Medicaid "CAWEM" card good for 6 months. So long as they qualify they may continue to receive it every 6 months, and it is limited to the emergency services.
Multnomah County RESOLUTION NO. 03-147 (from an Oregon AFL-CIO website)
The Board endorses four basic principles in the Immigrant Worker Freedom Ride agenda:
A road to citizenship with clearer steps to follow for immigrants who already work and pay taxes to gain a green card.
Family reunification, to help bring workers’ family members still living in their native countries to the United States; there are decade-long waiting lists for some countries.
Workplace rights, regardless of immigration status, an issue of concern since a 2002 Supreme Court decision found that an immigrant worker with false documents could be denied back pay.
Civil rights and civil liberties, in response to immigrants being detained and deported in federal terrorism investigations.
Imagine that, a worker who is not eligible to work and who lied to get his job might not get his back pay. What's next? Bank robbers won't get to keep their stolen money after they get caught? The injustice of it all...
I've also notice that liberals who use considerable energy to convince us that we could do just fine without our cars have a different view when it comes to illegal aliens. I hear them make arguments like "they can't do their grocery shopping" or "get to neccessary doctor's appointments" without a state issued drivers license.
What, are illegal aliens too good to take the bus? Couldn't they just go to their shopping on those "multi-use paths" that ODOT loves to build?
