Tax money trasfers

Immigration hurt money transfer business
Controversy over illegal immigration hurt Western Union's business in the second quarter, as immigrants in the United States became less willing to send money to their families in Mexico, the chief executive of Western Union's parent company, First Data Corp., said Friday.

"In May and June, more than 2,000 migrants were arrested across the United States," he said. "You can imagine the ripple effect that these arrests are having on the community... It's inconceivable that these developments would not have an impact on money transfer industry."

Boohoo. Can you imagine a bussiness journal writing a story about how a crackdown on drug cartels was hurting the bottom line of some company? How did we get the the place where so many people seem to think that it is ok to profit off of certain crimes?

I am going to ask state legislators to introduce a bill to tax all money wire transfers out of this country. Now this will be the one tax that democrats won't like so to make it even funnier when they vote against it we should specify that the tax revenue be dedicated to bike paths, public art, queer resource centers and "the children."

Well done on your blog...I will have to stop by more often...hey, come on over to my blog and leave some intelligent comments...always looking for people to combat the crazy liberals.

Unfortunately Daniel, your brillant idea would not get to a vote in the senate.

Kate & Peter would never vote on a tax they oppose.

But if the R's had both chambers they'd have to count the votes first (there's RINO's remember) and then it would be great to watch the D's squirm....

Rino Watch: That seems a bit surprising, that Peter and Kate would vote against a tax. I was under the impression that they, and all other liberals, have never seen a tax that they did not love. The only reason that they might vote against it is possibly might get them some sort of favorable standing within the illegal alien community, therefore getting them, and Teddy the K, more votes come November.

Scottie,

Petey & Katie would not have to expose themselves (an ugly thought indeed) to vote No on a tax that they could avoid by not presenting it in the first place.

Splitting hairs I guess, but you got the idea in your comment that --that particular type of tax might actually bite THEM in the ass...

You said " tax revenue be dedicated to bike paths, public art, queer resource centers and "the children."

You didn't mean Straight Kids did ya?

Just the ones that's DNA shows they are really queer.

Oh, thats right, DNA can't determine that, can it?

What do you mean? Just because some guy in his mid forties whose been married for 23 years and has 3 children didn't "realize" he was gay until his mid-life crisis doesn't mean that he wasn't "born that way" does it?

Oh wait...

And clearly we couldn't support straight kids with this tax revenue, that would be diverse enough.

As for Katie and Petie, I would lump Karen Minnis in with them as well. Not that I would bother but if I did send her a proposal she would never answer me.

Tom Tancredo floated the idea of taxing outbound wire transfers a few years ago. First Data sent him a message with a small contribution to his opponent. Tancredo quietly dropped the idea a few months later.

Scottie,

Many liberals strongly oppose taxes they consider regressive. When you see Republicans supporting a tax, there's a good probability it's a regressive tax.

Scottiebill said...

Terry, That liberals will oppose taxes they consider regressive would only be those taxes regressive to them and their liberal agenda. And if they see that a tax has a good chance of being regressive to the conservatives, then they are all for it.
