Instant Mexicans!
Every year, millions of American children waste their potential on education. Lord knows I wasted mine that way. Americans once believed that education was the path to personal success and national economic advancement. But as any supporter of illegal immigration will tell you, the real bedrock of the American economy is actually the uneducated, unskilled “migrant worker.”
Yet despite the critical national need for illiterate labor, America still remains addicted to foreign toil. It is therefore critical that America seek domestic toil alternatives immediately. We must become peon-energy independent in the 21st Century!
Too dependent on foreign toil, that is just priceless. (Actually the price is rampant disrespect for the law, raped children and puppies, drugs, ID theft and bankrupted schools)

Mr. Daniel, the City of Chicago (in a 35 to 14 vote of the city council) increased the minimum wage to $10/hr., to be achieved by 2010. If illegals weren't depressing the market wage, such pandering wouldn't be on anyone's radar. All the lefty ding-dongs hollering about "jobs with justice" should be the first to pressure the feds into securing our borders and deporting the criminal aliens. Oh yeah, that would be a stance in favor of Capitalism. Silly me.....sheesh.
BTW, Mr. Daniel, I was an unskilled (legal) migrant worker, until I learned that picking strawberries was an inferior vocation, paid my dues while paying my (subsidized) way through University, and started paying more taxes than I used, doing skilled jobs.
Mr. Bear, you and I are going to have to get together and have a beer sometime. What city do you live in?
Illegals ARE depressing wages, across the board. Harvard, U of Cal., U of FL. and many more have proven this.
BEAR, This is why a City Government HAS to raise the minumum wage, why the Employers are being FORCED to overpay people soon.
Otherwise market forces would have Employers raising wages to get good people, on their OWN, not some Commie Gov't mandate.
Yes, if 12 million low skill workers left the Country, then huge ads in papers offering hiring bonuses and benefits and better pay would happen on its own.
I know, I saw big signs in McDonalds and Taco Bell's & Gopher,s for house builders etc. offering $10.00 hr. plus bonuses in Arizona, 15 YEARS AGO!
When Capitalism is done on a FAIR & LEGAL system, it adjusts itself.
It does not require Gov't sticking their big nose in.
Mr. Daniel, I used to to live on Pine St., in Sherwood (many years ago). I now live in a city an hour's drive north of you. I expect we shall meet at an event sometime in the future, but in the meantime, I am hoisting one to you and your efforts as I write. Carry on, sir. You are not alone or unappreciated, even in Columbia County.
