I'm not an expert in foreign policy but...

North Korea Test Fires Seventh Missile Amid International Uproar
North Korea test-fired another missile Wednesday, intensifying the furor ignited when the reclusive regime launched at least six missiles, including a long-range Taepodong, earlier in the day.

The political reaction was swift. The White House called the tests a "provocation," while the U.N. Security Council scheduled an emergency meeting for Wednesday and Tokyo warned of economic sanctions against the impoverished, communist country.

The U.N. Security council scheduled an "emergency" meeting where they sat around and talked like they do every time and then left for lunch "agreeing to disagree."

How about we just drop some big bombs on North Korea and show tin-pot dictators everywhere *cough* Hugo Chavez *cough* that we really mean what we say.

"He tried to shoot me but he missed so it's ok" is not something that is going to come from my mouth.

North Korea is China's puppet and they are using them as a tool against the US.

Meanwhile, back in China they are busy buying our mortgages, all of our industry and most of our National debt.

What the Arabs don't own of us through Citibank the Chinese do.

We have traded our children's future for a short ride in a Big SUV and a cheap TV.

The Useless Nusiance called an emergency meeting to discuss whether to issue a "strongly worded letter" or to give (little) kim jung ill a stern finger wagging and a "time out".

If the US were to bomb the crap out of No. Korea ("not that there's anything wrong with that!" -channeling Jerry Seinfeld), the only drawback that I can see might be the influx of refugees pouring into So. Korea, whos economy may not be able to handle them.

Clearly this should be considered an act of aggresion by NK, but our military is stretched pretty thin right now, so we're kind of stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Thank you Bill Clinton! Moron!

I'm sorry, but every time I hear about that nitwit of a dictator in North Korea, all I can think about is the movie "Team America".

The little sawed off runt is a few shots short of a fifth and we ought to put the boots to North Korea ASAP. Start with his palace and go from there. Maybe then the people of N. Korea might have a chance of a normal 21st Century life with little luxury items like food, water, and electricity.

I spent 14 months boots on the ground in S. Korea about 5 years ago. I saw the tunnels (think mexico) that are big enough to drive a special jeep with a howitzer on it through into Seoul. I saw the propaganda village, and have been on the ground on the allied side of the fence at the DMZ. Here is how this works.

N. Korea is sitting up there starving to death, while S. Korea hums along happily eating rice and dog, making cars for GM, computers for everyone, and Kimchi for grocery stores. They are going to get to a point where they have nothing left to lose.

China could give a crap about Korea, except when S. Korea, or the U.S. moves N, into the northern territories near the Chinese border. All they are doing is letting Kim nutcase Ill make a bunch of noise, and I think that no one expected him to go this far. I guarantee, that the second they get a working nuke, the will sell it to Iran, who will shoot it at Isreal.

There are, at any given time, around 35,000 U.S. tropps in the peninsula. A whole shitload of ROK Army, AF, Navy, and Marines. They are hard, well trained troops, and we could learn a thing or two from them. S. Korea's policy is that when the war starts, they will push as far N as possible, and take as much of the land back as they can. The big secret, is that the N. Has too much land and not enough food, and the S. has too much food, and not enough land.

N. Korea has like the 4th largest army. They are also cold war, hard troops, and we would have a nasty stand up fight. They would not fold like the ragheads. It would be bad.

I have rambled a lot here, but unless it has changed, the U.S. NBC (Nuke, Bio, Chem)doctrine demands that we retaliate to any even attempted Nuclear strike towards the U.S., or her armies anywhere on earth. It is pretty well spelled out, and leaves no real room for interpretation. Sort of an..."Is it heading at us?" "yes sir" "Ok, get the birds in the air, and make em glow"
kind of deal.
