Are they serious?

Sen. Lautenberg rebukes DeLay over Schiavo remarks
Dear Majority Leader DeLay,
I was stunned to read the threatening comments you made yesterday against Federal judges and our nation’s courts of law in general. In reference to certain Federal judges, you stated: “The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior.”...
...You should be aware that your comments yesterday may violate a Federal criminal statute, 18 U.S.C. §115 (a)(1)(B).

This follows Ted Kennedy's frothing-at-the-mouth comments: "Mr. DeLay needs to make clear that he is not advocating violence against anyone."

What got these folks so worked up?
DeLay is blaming Terri Schiavo's death on what he calls an "arrogant and out-of-control judiciary" that ignored congressional attempts to intervene. The Texas Republican says "the time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior."

And if you're thinking, "most democrats aren't like this, Kennedy's just drunk" please take a read at "Think Progress" and hear how Dems think that Delay stopped just short of calling for an immediate lynching.
Sample:
the hidden message in this quote are the words:“Objective observers know!” The subjective pronouncement leaves so very much left unsaid. Given DeLays exact words, and the specificity of factual references one could gather from reference materials would provide an objective observation. In the case of DeLay’s exact quote, objective observation would not provide the conclusion that he was expressing his disappointment. Objective observers would only know what he said based on the meaning of those words and phrases, of the syntax and grammar. That of course would leave out 99% of the observations of the quotes made by the mass of the population. These would necessarily have to be subjective observations. And it is surprising how many of these demonstrate a consistency in the knowledge of the intent of his remarks–violent action as retribution.
Unless Allen was implying that the only objective observers who are knowledgeable, are the ones to whom DeLay was speaking specifically, those being the folks that are in fact violent and prone to acts such as murder.

Wow. I had to put my tinfoil hat on for that one. It's just a little bit of a ssstttrrreeeetttccchhh for me.

DeLay is such a wonderful and ethical man. Why must people be so hard on him? Give the poor guy a break and get him out of office!

"Get him out of office?" Are you threatening violence against him? You need to make it very clear that you don't condone killing him because looking at your words and syntax and blah blah blah mass hysteria...
