18 states and counting...

Pro-Family Public Hails Passage of Kansas Marriage Amendment
Kansans voted overwhelmingly yesterday (April 5) to amend their state constitution with a ban on same-sex marriage and civil unions. The newly adopted measure reaffirms Kansas' long-standing policy of only recognizing unions between a man and a woman, exclusively, as marriage.
The Kansas Marriage Amendment passed in 104 of the state's 105 counties, including many traditional Democrat strongholds. In Wichita, voters approved the amendment by a margin of 91 percent. And, as one Bott Radio Network report noted, voter turnout was even more astounding than the statewide 70%-29% margin of victory for the pro-traditional marriage measure.

If a single poll comes out showing that support for abortion has increased one percent the mainstream media trumpets it as "overwhelming support." If a single poll comes out that shows support for the Iraq war has dropped by one percentage point it is called a "huge shift." When every state that has voted on marriage has overwhelmingly said that marriage is a union between one man and one woman it gets no media analysis (except to bemoan the Christian Right's influence on politics), no coverage (a 50 word snippit on page 6), and no admission of the fact that this is what society wants (reporters sure don't know anyone who doesn't like the idea of gay marriage). But it's not because the media is biased...

YAY! It makes me so proud to live in this country. Hey Daniel - let's start a hate rally downtown to support unequal rights and spread hate for gays. Wouldn't you just love that!

The time will come. These hateful amendments will be erased in a matter of time.

I don't really like going downtown and I don't really hate gays...

You labeling anything/anyone who disagrees with your position as "hateful" takes away from the sock value of that word after a while.

Hate: To feel hostility or animosity toward. To detest.

I think that fits. Maybe 'extreme lack of tolerance' would have been a better phase? Though, I think they both work.

Also - I'm pro-family. I would also guess that some of my best friends, who are a gay couple and have 3 amazing kids are pretty pro-family. How is it that people with your view point make it sound like gays and lesbians are not pro family. There are plenty of straight people that are pro-family and believe in equal marriage rights.

What a joke it is for these groups that take aim at gays and lesbian claims that they are pro-family. I'd have to say they are anti-family.
