9/11

My one thought that I'm going to share on this day is that I think it's a damn shame how the towers are being rebuilt. It should never have taken this long and the best thing we could have done is build the same buildings except ten stories taller.

Pray for the victims families who are feeling that pain all over again.

My wife and I visited the site a few months after the attack and I couldn't leave the area soon enough.

The smoke was yet rising. We could feel the evil and am not a sensitive kind of fella.

The church across the street that remained unharmed was enough to give ya goose bumps.

The scary part for us was that our son and daughter-in-law were to have been at the WTC that morning and over-slept. They didn't know any of it until I called.

Thank you Lord

Daniel,
Today, Patriot's Day, I learned why America and President Bush are going to loose the War on Terror. My wife teaches at Central Middle School in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. The school administrators took NO time to have a moment of silent to honor those Americans lost on 9/11/01. In fact, there was no public acknowledgement of the events of 9/11/01 or that today was Patriot Day, a national day of recognition of 9/11/01. This is a school that cannot pass up any Mexican holiday or recognition there of. It is ironic that George Santayana, The Life of Reason, Volume 1, 1905, US (Spanish-born) philosopher (1863 - 1952) said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." America, stand-by the WOT is going to become significantly worse because of attitudes my wife and I witnessed today.

It is just plain sick that a school would choose to do nothing to remember 9-11. Daniel, you're right about the rebuilding of the Towers. They should have rebuilt them exactly as they were (well, I guess with better support to survive a plane crash), to convey the message that the terrorists didn't really affect anything.

They should have built 5 towers. Lined up from north to south, the first tower would be 50 stories, second tower would be 65 stories, fourth tower would be 60 stories, fifth tower would be 40 stories. The third tower would be 110 stories tall, with a 2 story tall Star of David, on side of the tower facing towards Mecca.

THAT would be a grand design

For those who don't know, September 17th. is National Constitution Day.

Educational institutions which receive Federal funding are required to hold an educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year. Since this date falls on a Sunday in 2006, schools can celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, September 18.
With so many attacks on the constitution today our children need to have a fundamental knowledge of the building blocks that have made our country great. Please don't let your school ignore this one.
