Happy blogoversary

It has been two years today since I started this blog. On this day in 2005 I did my first post on the Carousel of Information. (since shut down, thank you very much)

In March I did posts bashing the idea (since passed) of restricting payday loans and caught school superintendent Susan Castillo about to go to a strip club to celebrate abortion. Again, a thank you very much, because she cancelled.

(I'm two for three at this point)

I also did some bashing of Lewis & Clark and Reed college and a lot more.

Thanks to all of you who have been reading/commenting over the years. Looking back I know that this blog has done some good and had some influence. (plus when I try real hard I can be kind of funny I think)

If you haven't been reading that long it's worth a look-back at some of my earlier stuff. You will see that I'm remarkably consistent and consistently remarkable. (yeah, just came up that right now on the spot... copyright 2007)

[insert something here about John Edwards sexual tendencies]

If looking back at my earlier posts is interesting you should look at all the pictures I have taken that reside in my "blog pics" folder!

The "legalize me" picture is one of the funniest... Why doesn't ICE just hang out at the day labor sites and wait? Seems like easy pickins'...

I have multiple folders (one for each protest) filled with such pictures. I'll have to do a "best of" post about them.

You're consistently pitiful - and pitifully consistent – and it's all yours! Politically, you've done little more than pound that wedge through both parties and deep into your own stump! You can stop pounding… You demean “Left Republicans,” without realizing they've traveled so far right they’re simply bumping into reality on the other side!

I'd be more than happy to cheer on the denigration of your birth-party, but we’ve apparently a shard goal -- stopping Illegal Infiltration of our nation; an issue on which all American's should agree. But to your kind, it appears little more than a partisan litmus text, and touting Oregon’s most virulent political opportunist’s lends little hope for the bipartisan coalition necessary to craft a firm and lasting answer. Demeaning all-comers, your vile rhetoric provides the ammo as you place a large target on those willing to help … leaving all to question their motives and assumed alliance with such American Fascists.

Nope, you've little to be proud of; and what progress you make against illegal infiltration is likely negated by your next utterance. Your bloated ego distorts any semblance of reality while you likely do America more harm than good. As you encourage your narrow-minded ditto-heads to dig faster and deeper toward Hell, advice is futile. But here comes some: never call progress one step forward and two steps back; and stop with the wedge!

Unfortunately, your Second Birthday sounds quite appropriate -- adios?

Daniel: To celebrate your blog's birthday, I thought it would be interesting to re-read an essay that the novelist and philosopher Umberto Eco published in the mid-1990s in the New York Review of Books.

It's called "Eternal Fascism: Fourteen Ways of Looking at a Blackshirt." Have you read it? I'm curious to know how many of the fourteen characteristics he cites you think accurately describe your own political perspective. I'd argue that at least a dozen of them do.

Daniel,

Congrats on the anniversary but I have to say....sounds like anonymous 9:19 got up on the wrong side of the rock.....

How about a recall movement of the Gov. to mark your success?

Lars hasn't the guts?

Amy: As to your comment about Anon 9:19 being a bit grumpy, don't you think that being constantly negative (or negative constantly) would be enough to be grumpy?

Daniel, Keep the great posts coming, and Congrats on your 2nd anniversary.
