It's up to Oregon to deal with global warming
It hurts to think of Oregon's Mid-Valley without pinot noir and vineyards; of a coast where visitors crowd onto a few ragged beaches; of Cascades so dry that ski areas depend on snow machines all winter.
How would Salem's water supply be affected if this watershed became as parched as the Klamath Basin was a few years ago? How would the state cover firefighting costs if every year were a disastrous year for wildfires? How would county health authorities cope if new diseases moved north as temperatures warmed?

As the economists point out, opportunities exist for those who tap the growing market for products to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.
"The economists" are not named specifically as if all economists agree on this one overriding principle. Would a state of "The ecomonomists agree that high taxes are bad for economic growth" ever make it past a Fishwrapper editor?
When entrepreneurs find ways to cut people's commute or trim their electricity bill or fuel bill, people will invest in them. Such alternatives could help offset the shock that global warming could deal Oregon's economy.

Incredible as it seems, the auto industry and some Republicans have been trying to put the brakes on Gov. Ted Kulongoski's initiative to tighten auto-emission standards for cars and trucks. They've filed a lawsuit to keep Oregon from adopting California's stricter standards instead of the feds' ho-hum ones.
But instead of "entrepreneurs" and the market dictating the best solution, the Fishwrapper wants government to make a decree and the loyal subjects to simply bend over and take it. No thanks.

Now I remember, THIS is why I strongly oppose the gay agenda
The other day I was reading the Fishwrapper and I noticed the name "Savage." With fond thoughts of Michael Savage in my mind I started reading the article and was absoulutely disgusted by what I read.
Dan Savage, is the mouthpiece (no pun intended) for the gay movement in Seattle and his comments are the prime examples of the social degeneration that liberals, and gays in particular, want our society to embrace.
Some excerpts:

I'm sure they'll seize on the not-necessarily-monogamous stuff... This country has totally unrealistic expectations about monogamy. What are the odds of straight couples being totally monogamous over 40 or 50 years?
Good idea Savage, set the expectations low.
D.J.'s mom is on the streets. She was the most responsible drug-and-alcohol-plagued street kid I've ever met. She stayed clean for her entire pregnancy, and I feel very protective of her. But now, we don't know where she is.
I know that I'm always describing drug plagued street kids as responsible...
Straight people, the fins are sticking out of the water and the shark is coming for you, too.

Anyway, I brought this up even though it was a couple days ago because this idiot is also in the Portland Mercury.
What prompted so many young straights to run off and live like homos? I have a theory: A lot of the early opposition to the Gay Lifestyle was motivated by envy. Straight people resented gay people for giving themselves permission to do what a lot of straight people wanted to do but couldn't—have fun while you're young, sleep around while you're hot, and live someplace more interesting than the suburbs.
That sounds great! Doing drugs, have anonymous sex, no limits and no rules! That's what everyone should want! Thank goodness that there's no such thing as lasting consequences...
My point is, they gay movement is all about selfishness, a lack of responsibility and a tearing apart of the social fabric. They celebrate absolute anarchy while pretending to want happy families. (Two dads to their son: don't forget to "sleep around while you're hot")

Monday was Columbus day, an American holiday. But Oregon's calendar of "diversity events" makes no mention of this day. Rather they focus on:
Oct 12 NATIONAL DAY IN SPAIN. This holiday commemorates the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus and Spain’s gaining of a colonial empire.
Good enough for Spain, not good enough for America.

Discrimination claims costing Oregon millions
Oregon taxpayers have shelled out more than $16.5 million over the past decade to fight and pay off employment discrimination claims lodged against state government.
Ross said seven state agencies -- including the Department of Human Services -- have already started looking at where they might improve. Affirmative action representatives from various agencies meet once a month to talk about state hiring and employment practices and will look more deeply at the data to identify trends and problem areas.
That is the first and last paragraph from this story and I think that it shows what the problem is.
Liberals and state government have convinced minorities and women that they are victims. They convinced them that no one will give them contracts or hire them simply because of their gender or skin color. They've said that it's so bad that government must put aside special contracts just for the women and minority victims. It's so bad that they must have "affirmative action" to hire women and minorities rather than hire on merit.
Once hired, the employees must listen to their "diversity manager" prattle on about "institutionalized racism" and "glass ceilings."
All these things are designed to make women and minorities feel like everyone is out to get them, that the only possible reason for not getting that promotion, corner office, etc is that people are discriminating against them.
And now the state is suprised that women and minorities that work for state government are acting like the victims that the state told them they were.
But instead of saying "enough with this diversity nonsense" it looks as if the diversity folks are instead going to assume that it is actual discrimination and go even further with the affirmative action and diversity garbage.

Are Conservatives the Black Voters of the Republican Party?
Conservatives feel that they are taken for granted by the Republican Party and are the first group to be slighted when compromises have to be made. They are the fundraising base, the volunteer base and the turnout base, but they have been forced to swallow an unfathomably large expansion of Medicare so that Bush can be said to have “done something” about the fact that prescription drugs aren’t magically free.
They have had to watch in horror as Bush stumbled arm-in-arm with Teddy Kennedy to expand the Department of Education into a more powerful centralized bureaucracy than any Democrat ever dreamed of making it.
And if Bush gets his way, they will soon be forced to swallow yet another risky “stealth” nominee to the Supreme Court, and then a stealth amnesty for the 10-20 million illegal aliens that have smuggled themselves into the Country in the last two decades.
Mac Johnson correctly identifies the problem and has come to the same conclusion that I have: Not voting hurts us worse than anything, giving money and support to the interest groups and specific candidates is much better than giving or volunteering for the RNC, and the primary system is the way to move the party to the right.

As you know from my previous post, the DCBS doesn't want to know if illegal aliens are getting wokers comp benefits.
"The Board supported the general policy that our employees not seek out or report immigration status of any parties who come before this agency."
But the bigger problem for me is that we need benefits workers who speak Spanish. How does a worker get by at a job if they speak no English? Could someone who doesn't speak English function as your co-worker? No.
But some jobs have become Spanish-speaking only positions. If anything is keeping Americans from doing certain jobs that illegal aliens do then it is this. Just as someone who speaks no English couldn't function working with people who don't speak Spanish, an English speaker couldn't work at a construction job site where his co-workers don't speak the same language.
Why would you bother applying to work in agriculture if you have a different culture and language than everyone else? How could you possibly work in a restraunt kitchen if you can't even communicate with the other cooks?
Farmers, contractors and restraunt owners need to stop saying that they can't find American workers if the current majority of their workforce is Spanish speaking.

Mexican meth news from across the country
Crystal meth: Itawamba's silent addiction
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, meth is one of the most rampant and dangerous drugs on the rise in Mississippi. The DEA web site goes as far to say that the drug is reaching “epidemic proportions in the state.”
“Most of the ice that is coming into the area is Mexican,” he said. “There are no labs that are capable of making ice in the county that we know of.”
As U.S. Meth Labs Dry Up, Mexican Cartels Step In
As Congress considers restrictions on the sale of cold pills used to make methamphetamine, it might want to look at what's happened in Oklahoma, which has slashed the number of home meth labs yet failed to curb meth use.
But police say a massive influx of meth made by Mexican "superlabs," which can obtain tons of pseudoephedrine, has kept meth plentiful and potent. The number of Oklahoma users shows no sign of falling, and property crime still keeps the Oklahoma County Jail at capacity.

A Mexican citizen living in Joplin received 12 years in prison Wednesday for participating in a methamphetamine conspiracy.
Limon-Gonzalez has admitted he conspired with others to distribute 50 to 200 grams of meth as early as Nov. 11, 2003, to March 4 in Jasper County, (Missouri) the U.S. Attorney's Office said. He also admitted illegally re-entering the United States after being deported in 1996.

A federal grand jury in Springfield indicted eight men and a woman this week for allegedly conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in southwest Missouri.
Those indicted included Adan Mendez-Rivera, 26, Raul Alberto-Guerrero, 31, and Geronimo Velasquez-Gomez, 28, all Mexican citizens residing in Carthage; Carlos Mulgado, 36, of Carthage; Polo Hinojosa-Garcia, 24, a Mexican citizen residing in the Joplin area; Noel Fonseca-Garcia, 20, a Mexican citizen residing in Pittsburg, Kan., and Armando Figueroa-Dominguez, 31, a Mexican citizen residing in Rogers, Ark.
Battling the meth `epidemic'
Unfortunately, success in closing such domestic labs won't stop meth. It only means that Mexican cartels pick up the slack. An investigation by The Oregonian newspaper in Portland, Ore., reported that Mexico last year imported nearly twice as much pseudoephedrine--one of the keys to illegal meth production--than is necessary for the production of cold medicine.
Sheriff: Meth 'creates havoc throughout the whole system'
But the slack has been picked up by supplies coming in from out of state, most of it from Mexican sources, and U.S. Highway 101 has become a major corridor for traffickers, Bergin said. Just last month police, with the help of a drug-sniffing dog, found a quarter-pound of meth hidden in the dashboard of a car during a traffic stop.

San Diego- Six people face arraignment in federal court Tuesday on charges of importing methamphetamine from Mexico and distributing the drug in San Diego.
Alven Armando Diaz, Robin Cheri McMasters, Arnulfo Campas-Cuadras, Alma Ramos-Gutierrez, Karely Diaz-Hernandez and Armando Ayala Diaz were charged in an eight-count indictment with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, and distribution, possession and importation of the drug.
I think that you get my point. These are not news stories from the last year or the last six months. These are all recent stories. The list I find is almost endless.
I highlight the state and the country of origin (Mexico) of the meth but what isn't shown is the absolute devastation that this causes our local communities and our country as a whole.
The reduction in availability of meth would be instant if we would only stop illegal border crossings. The reduction in crime would follow. The burden on law enforcement would lessen and our quality of life would improve.
It's hard to find such complex problems that have such simple solutions to provide sweeping relief. Until our national, state and local governments give us nothing but lip service on meth reduction when they ignore the one solution that would have the biggest effect.

Methamphetamine crime is reaching epidemic levels in Idaho.
Idaho State Police say that 90 percent of meth found in Idaho comes from Mexico. The other 10 percent is from homemade meth labs in the Gem State.

Unfortunately, the story is not unique. Meth addiction has become an epidemic in Tennessee—the state’s law enforcement busted 1,574 clandestine meth labs last year, ranking us runner-up in the nation in lab seizures, second only to Missouri. Though many law enforcement officers are optimistic about Gov. Phil Bredesen’s Anti-Meth law, which passed in April and has greatly reduced the number of lab seizures across the state already, they say importation—from Mexico and super-labs in bigger cities like Atlanta—is filling the void.
Meth: More Iowans fall hard as 'ice age' takes hold
Mexican cartels have seized on a void left in the drug market created when hard-hit meth states began to place much tighter restrictions on sales of cold products containing pseudoephedrine, Iowa's undercover drug agents say.
In recent months, dealers have been peddling a more-expensive, more-pure brand of ice made in Mexico that has been smuggled through existing pipelines along interstates from the Southwest, particularly Arizona.

Two Mexican nationals pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to federal charges involving methamphetamine, cocaine and firearms.
Martinez and Nieves-Villareal were arrested in July after the Escambia County (Florida) Sheriff's Office said officers seized 9 ounces of meth with an estimated street value of $50,000, 3 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $250,000, an Uzi submachine gun, a Mac-90, two automobiles and $20,000 cash.
Task force faces big challenges
However, the greatest challenge facing Phillips and the drug task force is the influx of meth into North Platte. First introduced in North Platte in the 1990s by a group of bikers, Phillips said he believes it is now coming in from Mexico and delivered into North Platte. (Nebraska)
6 to face meth charges in federal court
San Diego- Six people face arraignment in federal court Tuesday on charges of importing methamphetamine from Mexico and distributing the drug in San Diego.
Alven Armando Diaz, Robin Cheri McMasters, Arnulfo Campas-Cuadras, Alma Ramos-Gutierrez, Karely Diaz-Hernandez and Armando Ayala Diaz were charged in an eight-count indictment with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, and distribution, possession and importation of the drug.
I think that you get my point. These are not news stories from the last year or the last six months. These are all recent stories. The list I find is almost endless.
I highlight the state and the country of origin (Mexico) of the meth but what isn't shown is the absolute devastation that this causes our local communities and our country as a whole.
The reduction in availability of meth would be instant if we would only stop illegal border crossings. The reduction in crime would follow. The burden on law enforcement would lessen and our quality of life would improve.
It's hard to find such complex problems that have such simple solutions to provide sweeping relief. Until our national, state and local governments give us nothing but lip service on meth reduction when they ignore the one solution that would have the biggest effect.

Liberals hate
BlueOregon, the folks that try to keep black people from voting (If I say it over and over then people will assume it's true) did a post on the head of the Oregon Christian Coalition being accused of child molestation.
The post didn't offer any opinions but the liberals who commented afterwards did:
I get a certain sense of pleasure when someone who attacks the morality of my being gay when they have been accused of child molestation.
Let me get this straight... a big, white, dopey bible-thumping Christian Coalition leader who says his morals are better than us... has been focking his little daughters and nieces... for years now.

The reason that "values voters" and Christians don't vote for Democrats is... Democrats HATE religious people. They hate the idea of morality. They hate the idea of something larger than their own selfish desires. They hate the thought of some behavior being off limits because it's wrong.
They hate the thought of being accountable for their actions. They hate the thought of consequences for lifestyles or choices they make. They hate people who disagree with them. They hate the idea of an authority larger than themselves. They hate, hate, hate.

At a rally, Dean garnered the loudest applause when he said Republicans would make immigration a pivotal issue during upcoming elections, as they did gay marriage and affirmative action in previous elections.
That's because those were winning issues for us then as well.
"Do you know who the scapegoats are going to be? Immigrants," he said. "In Colorado, the chairman of the Republican Party endorsed Tom Tancredo (search) for re-election. That is morally reprehensible. The governor of California, a supposed moderate Republican, invited the Minutemen to visit California. We do not need vigilante justice."
This is good news for us if the Democrats want to take the side of criminals when it comes time to debate this issue in upcoming elections. I had assumed that they would try their best to avoid the issue, (with a little help from their friends in the media) or offer the generic "we must reform the immigration system" response followed by no specifics.
But instead the liberals go back to their usual tactic of calling Republicans names. I can only hope that they start calling us names in Spanish, that would go over real well with the electorate.

The "party of the people"
Governor Ted Kulongoski kicked off the Oregon Summit tonight, saying "Let the Republicans worry about the richest Americans; we Democrats will take care of everyone else."
With much anticipation I wondered, what will the "party of the little guy" do this weekend at their Summit Event. Will they feed the poor? Will they play midnight basketball with gang members? With they help with the interior decorating at Dignity Village?
Alas, none of this happened. Instead, the Democrat's Oregon Summit was held at Sunriver "Pinnacles of Luxury" Resort. The regular rates are for a room are:
Regular Rate - 209.00 USD Avg/Per Night.
But if you really want to look out for the little people you would get this:
Unlimited Resort Course Package - 378.00 USD Avg Rate
To be fair, it looks as if the Democrats secured a block room rate well below Sunriver Resort's normal rate which started at $95 per person per night.
But thankfully, they stopped the indulgence with their luxurious accomadations. That is, unless you count the Golf Tournament with Governor Kulongoski. And just when you thought that the Democrat party was the "inclusive" party: Tee times are reserved for members and Resort guests only.
I am hoping that during the Inspirational Closing Lunch With Congressman Peter DeFazio the Democrats were able to talk about hunger and poverty. All while eating things from the Sunriver Menu like Filet Mignon, Grilled Lamb Loin Chops, Wild Sockeye Salmon, and Meadows Thai Prawns...
Do you think that anyone who makes minumum wage eats off that menu, plays on that golf course, stays at that resort? Neither do I.
Also contradicting the liberals usual desire to "keep religion out of politics" the Summit included a "break out" session titled:
Session C: Courtney Dillard, Adam Rose - Winning Value Voters: Activating and Organizing The Religious Left
So let's all tremble as the Religious Left organizes. I think that all 6 of them are meeting at Steve's house...

The Board supported the general policy that our employees not seek out or report immigration status of any parties who come before this agency. The Board felt that distributing this policy to our employees made a sufficient enough statement to employees, and that individual counseling and obtaining employees' signatures were unnecessary.
Why would an agency whose purpose is to help enforce labor laws turn a blind eye to blatant violations? Why would they ignore a known problem?
The answer: these people are sick in the head.

In terraced dirt, nurtured by an elaborate sprinkler system, 465 marijuana plants have been quietly tucked away, obscured by the winding branches of vine maple and alder bushes.
Law enforcement officials have seized thousands of plants in Washington state in recent months, forcing them to abandon their ongoing battle on methamphetamine for days at a time.
...increasing enforcement in California and Oregon is pushing pot production by Mexican nationals north.
The U.S. Department of Justice noted in July that Mexican drug traffickers were expanding their areas of operation, with continued growth expected in isolated areas of Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
The largest, a field of more than 60,000 plants on south-central Washington's Yakama Indian Reservation, was traced to organized crime in Mexico.
How I would cover this if I wrote for The Oregonian:
Meet Juan, a hardworking migrant who left his family in Mexico with dreams of a better life for all of them. "I wanted to make more money" explained Juan, "and I don't mind breaking the law."
Every day hundreds of migrants just like Juan get an early start on the day walking through large forested areas to get to their work site. Pruning, planting, fertilizing, and picking are all jobs that must be done manually by this largely underground workforce.
"I send money back to my family" says Juan. "It helps to pay off the corrupt Mexican officials" Laborers like Juan are trying to make a decent life for themselves but some people in the community are upset. "We wish they would stop breaking the laws" says one member of a racist group known as the "Woodburn Police."
But this hatred doesn't stop people like Juan from wanted to experience the American dream. "The city built us a nice apartment complex, they give us free food, they pay for my electricity, and I get to smoke all the pot I want. I still consider Mexico to be a better country though." "Americans don't treat me fairly" asserts Juan.

Instead of seeking public approval, gays turn hatred towards Minnis
Gay-rights group won't pursue initiative
Basic Rights Oregon announced Friday it will not pursue an initiative next year that would allow civil unions for same-sex couples or ban discrimination based on sexual orientation.
"Our decision to not do a campaign, I don't think, is a signal of any kind that we would lose or that there was no way we could win," Kassel said. "It was that it wasn't the best way for us to win."
Going to the citizens of Oregon isn't "the best way" for the radical homosexuals to win. Instead they work on electing representatives who ignore the will of the people in favor of special interest groups like Basic Rights.
Kassel said her group would work next year to defeat Republicans such as House Speaker Karen Minnis, R-Wood Village, who during this year's legislative session refused to allow a House debate or vote on SB 1000.
Of course, in all this "grassroots" stuff that the Fishwrapper reports on they seem to have left out the fact that Basic Rights is suing to overturn Measure 36! Is that considered "grassroots?"
But don't think that Basic Rights is content with eliminating their "enemy number 1" (Karen Minnis) and overturning Measure 36 through the courts. Absolutely not. These are radical people whose complete agenda will never be discussed in the Fishwrappers because if the genereal public would never accept it.
Some examples:
Employees should not be forced to use bathrooms that do not correspond to their gender identity. Like all employees, transgender people need access to safe and dignified restroom facilities. SOURCE
So the freak that thinks that he's a woman wants to share a bathroom with you, your wife, or your daughter. And Basic Rights thinks the law should make that OK.
Our suggestion is to have a non-gender specific dress code. If you choose to have a gender specific dress code, different trans people will have different needs when it come to dress code policies.
Because Basic Rights thinks that having a man wearing heels and a dress should be working the front door of a children's toy store.
These people are simply selfish and sick. HRC, a national group, has a Q & A section where a parent says that her 7 year old daughter thinks she's a boy. The "expert" replied by saying that the family should not seek therapy but instead he offered to put this 7 year old girl in touch with a high school kid who had "a similair experience." Wonder how that would turn out.
I think that it's important not to forget that these people are slowly institutionalizing their perversity into every facet of public life. Whether they do it through innocent sounding campaigns such as "safe schools" (for gays, not safe for Christians) or "hate crimes" legislation that makes some people more important than others or simply going after a company, city, or county to change their "discrimination" policies to make bathrooms "gender neutral."
We are under constant attack and I truly believe that if we allow society to say that the traditional family is not neccessary then this country is doomed.

Whether they do it through innocent sounding campaigns such as "safe schools" (for gays, not safe for Christians) or "hate crimes" legislation that makes some people more important than others or simply going after a company, city, or county to change their "discrimination" policies to make bathrooms "gender neutral."
We are under constant attack and I truly believe that if we allow society to say that the traditional family is not neccessary then this country is doomed.
Something different for Saturday
I thought that I would do something different for Saturday and do a post that doesn't relate to politics at all. That's right, I'm not going to talk about Democrats who try to keep black people from voting. (If I say it over and over then people will assume it's true!)
Instead I'm going to talk about a great little program called WindowBlinds. I use it to customize the appearance of my computer and you can change it as much as you want. The shareware version of the program is free and definitely worth checking out if you are a computer geek.
WindowBlinds is part of a suite of programs called ObjectDesktop that can be used to customize your icons, your cursor, your startup splash and pretty much everything.
WinCustomize has thousands of free WindowBlinds skins, custom icons, cursors, wallpapers, etc.
It's stuff like this that makes me happy that Al Gore invented the internet. (But I'm still upset that he tried to prevent black people from voting in Florida...)

Why Mannix is not my candidate Part II
OK, I found this interesting tidbit on the BlueOregon website. Yes, those facists at BlueOregon who try to keep black people from voting. (If I say it over and over then people will assume it's true!)
They had the Oregon League of tree huggers, er, Conservation Voters scoring for the gubernatorial candidates.
The best part is the Mannix scores: "his rating as a Republican in 1999 was 9%. His rating during his previous time when he was a Democrat (remember that?) was 60.5%."
Why the flip-flop Kevin? Was Steve Duin around for this one too?
Less notable but still laughable, Kevin's state elections pamphlet from his (democrat) run for Attorney General lists his educational background as: B.A., Liberal Arts, 1971, law degree, 1974, University of Virginia.
His pamphlet from his (Republican) run for governor list his education background as: Bachelor of Arts and Law Degrees, University of Virginia.
It went from "liberal arts" to simply "arts." (as if there was any other kind)
The question for me is, when Kevin Mannix takes a stance on an issue is it because he truly believes in it? Or is it because it's a political neccessity to further his career?
I'm voting for the principled candidate Senator Jason Atkinson.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am voting for Atkinson for Governor. However I am not in any way affiliated with his campaign. I am criticizing Mannix, and will continue to, but "State Sen. Jason Atkinson, R-Central Point, the other candidate in the race, said he didn't want to attack a fellow Republican." SOURCE (source also happens to be a dig at Mannix, that's a bonus)
The bottom line, I don't mind so-called "attack ads" and "smear campaigns" but Jason does. My blog is my own.

Mannix then VS Mannix now
We've got a primary election coming up soon and candidates are doing what they can to appeal to their perceived constituencies. One of the very important issues in the Republican primary (and the general election) is the problem of Oregon being friendly to illegal aliens.
All three gubernatorial candidates have called in to Lars Larson's show to denounce illegal immigration and call for tough measures to combat the invasion.
One caller in paticular stands out for me though. Kevin Mannix has been calling in to Lars' show with increasing frequency lately. You can here his "tough" position on illegal aliens at Lars' site HERE.
That audio is a statement from Candidate Mannix. But what did head-of-the-GOP Mannix say in December of 2003 about Lars?
"I'm not a regular listener, and when I listen, I'm looking for the news. I don't follow the commentary stuff."
But more importantly, what did he say about an email that contained some suggestions from KXL listeners for humorous alternatives to the state motto such as:
Oregon: Se Habla Espanol
Oregon: Welcome to Little Mexico
"I choked when I looked at the stuff."
"I wasn't even aware we had circulated it. As soon as I heard about it, I was upset."
"These caustic remarks are inappropriate. I think you could tell from my presentation today that I'm trying to get us to present a broader vision of what's good for the people of this state, and not engage in this personalized nastiness."
These comments were made to Oregonian columnist Steve Duin whose column stated that "Mannix couldn't backpedal away from the e-mail fast enough."
Fast forward to 2005 and we have Oregonian articles that describe Woodburn like this:
Most of the signs are in Spanish, but don't let that intimidate you as you enter the color-splashed, six-block grid affectionately known as "Little Mexico," sandwiched between Front and First streets downtown.
But Mannix was "very upset" that anybody would refer to Oregon as "little Mexico" or that someone would say that we speak Spanish here.
There are two possibilities for the inconsistencies by Mannix.
One, he folded under pressure. Mannix couldn't take a principled stand on this issue to Steve Duin because he wants approval from the liberal establishment. This indicates to me that he would do the same thing if he were elected governor. He can talk a good game now but what happens when the liberals or an important Republican constituency wants the illegal aliens to be left alone?
Two, he is two-faced. Mr. "I don't listen to Lars" now calls him to get free air time. Mr. "broader vision" now wants to take on immigration because it's a huge issue with almost every voting Republican in Oregon.
Either way, I'm going to vote for a candidate with some integrity: Senator Jason Atkinson!
