Keep your laws off my belly...

IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF IOWA WESTERN DIVISION
FARM-TO-CONSUMER LEGAL
DEFENSE FUND, et al.,
Plaintiffs,

KATHLEEN SEBELIUS, Secretary,
United States Department of Health
and Human Services, et al.,
Defendants.

What does the government (the defendant in this case) have to say about what you may or may not eat?

"There is no absolute right to consume or feed children any particular food." [p. 25]

"There is no 'deeply rooted' historical tradition of unfettered access to foods of all kinds." [p. 26]

"Plaintiffs' assertion of a 'fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families' is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish." [p. 26]

"There is no fundamental right to freedom of contract." [p. 27]

Michelle Obama thinks that you are fat. She will be arriving in your kitchen shortly to "help" you make better "choices" about your eating habits.

The federal government argues that you have no fundamental right to choose your own food, I would argue that regulating my food choices it is not one of the enumerated powers given to the federal government.

So how about taking Papa Murphy's Pizza off the food stamp approved list.

Lets take all processed foods off of the food stamp list. Perpare it from scratch or pay for it yourself.

Daniel, this is Jim at Orbusmax. Can you email me? I have something I want to pass on to you.

Daniel, this is so incredible that Lars Larson was going off on this on his national show last night.

Democrats - Truly Orwellian freaks that should not be in charge of a free republic.

This crap has got to stop, Vote them out now!

Oh wow! If Lars was talking about it on his national show, it must be really incredible! Golly gee fucking whiz!

Election Night prediction: The Miglavians will be pissed off with the results. Oh, wait ... the Miglavians are pissed off about everything. I guess that's an easy one.

Election night prediction: I won't be pissed off election night, the same group of idiots will be voted in again in Oregon because people are stupid in this state. This states has been in an economic crapper for decades and the voters keep voting in the same idiots and expect different results. Isn't that what Einstein called insanity. Other states have much smarter voters since they are throwing the bums out. Wyden will be reelected and he's a part of the problem.

If you vote for the same idiots who are causing all the problems you are insane and need to be locked up and medicated for the safety of the children. Not only are the same idiots reelected, some of them are sent to DC to fuck up the whole country. Like Curt Schrader and Jeff Merkely.

I think most of the voters in the US are insane since they sent a community organizer from Chicago to DC. That's like sending the mob and the local grade school dropouts to run the local government. Crooks and idiots. Way too many people believed his lies. Shit, the only time Obama's not lying is when his lips are not moving.

I hope the republicans learn their lesson after they return to power. A lot of their leaders need to be tossed out too. They lost their way and were punished. The democrats have driven the car off the cliff and are being kicked out. Let's hope the cleansing continues for the future of our children and our country.

Although I live in Vancouver USA, I agree wholeheartedly with Dave. The voters will reelect the certifiable nut cases that are doing all the damage they can to the state. The same thing will happen here in Washington State. The only possible respite we will have is if Dino Rossi can put the boot to Patty Murray. That is, if he ever decides to run against her. I don't think that Don Benton could get it done if he is going up against Murray, should Rossi decide against running.

As for Wyden and Merkeley, has anyone noticed that Merkeley is looking more and more like Igor to Wyden's Dr. Frankenstein? Every time Wyden says anything at all, Merkeley says, "Yes, Master."

Merkeley is nothing more than a sock puppet for Wyden. If Wyden were to turn around suddenly, Merkeley would get his neck broken.

Yeah, let's get those terrible community organizers outta there and send back a Bush/Cheney clone, or at least someone who made their zillions in the oil industry to take care of poor little mom and pop shops like British Petroleum so we can drill baby drill! LOL. You're the fucking idiot, Dave. In case you didn't notice, Republicans were flushed down the credibility toilet starting with the "movie star" who had jelly beans rolling around in his skull.

Anon 11:08,

Don't let the little fact that Obama's the biggest recipient of BP cash get in the way of your little tirade.

So, what was the point of your hate and vitriol?

Anonymous said...

I am fully aware of where Obama gets his money. Please point in my post to where I expressed support for Obama or his policies. I didn't. Because I don't. If you care to respond to something I actually said, go for it. Put your thinking cap on. Actually, put about a dozen of them on; you need all the help you can get.

Michelle Obama thinks that you are fat.

Based on the photos you've posted of yourself, Miglavs, it looks to me like you are fat.

Anon 2:28,

You must be our "libertarian" friend.

I never said you supported Obama. But it is telling that you didn't exactly criticize him, either.

The point is, you trot out the tired, old leftist talking point of demonizing Bush & Cheney for being oil cronies. When you do that, by implication you give Obama a pass. Remember, for some reason Obama decided that he had to run against Bush. Apparently he didn't get the memo that Bush had already served two terms and couldn't run again. It seems the level of vitriol really ought to cut both ways. Otherwise, you come across as inconsistent and possibly a hypocrite. And in case you have a hard time reading for comprehension, let me make it perfectly clear to you that I am not implying in any way, shape, matter, or form that your lack of criticism of Obama automatically translates into your endorsing him or his policies.

By the way, what's wrong with drilling for oil? Isn't that how oil is extracted from the ground? It seems you're trotting out yet another leftist talking point about how drilling for oil is somehow not an answer for our energy problems.

I'll grant that Republicans have had credibility problems of their own making. In case you missed it, Dave implicitly acknowledged this. He wants the Republicans to overcome their credibility issues by actually representing their constituents for a change. (Where do you think we get the term "Representative Republic" from?) There is evidence this is happening. Look at the governors of Arizona and New Jersey. If the rest of the Republican party can follow these examples, the credibility issues will take care of themselves.

Interesting how you manage to, yet again, not criticize Democrats. Remember Nancy Pelosi promising the most ethical, transparent Congress ever? Yeah, whatever happened to that? What about Obama and his many broken promises? If anybody's credibility is in the toilet, it's the Democrats.

So go ahead. Pick on the Republicans. Just remember, when they go back to their roots, which is conservatism, they win elections.

Just ask Ronald Reagan.

It may very well be a "tired old leftist talking point," but it also happens to be true. You disagree? Go ahead: Make the case that Bush/Cheney weren't whores for the energy industry. Summon your "facts." Marshal your arguments. I look forward to a good laugh.

It takes less than a year to affect the economy in the US. Since the democrats have controlled congress for over four years and the presidency for sixteen months, they are not affecting the economy in a positive way. Their policies suck and are evident every day.

You must be happy with the state of affairs in Oregon. High unemployment must make you very happy. You can only blame Bush so long and people will eventually get the picture that obama is all talk, all lies and full of bullshit. You must be deaf, dumb and blind if you have not seen that yet.

Since you are demonizing oil, what are your solutions? Solar is way too expensive and does not work when the sun goes down. Wind in a not a solution because the wind is not constant. Oil, coal, nuclear and dams are the only consistent energy producers. That is just reality. I am all for alternative sources. I just don't want them shoved down our throat like the bailouts, health care and stimulus that don't work and put my grand children into massive debt for the rest of their lives.

ANON 8:51 PM, please don't mention Nancy Pelosi. She makes me want to puke. She is a complete nazi and an idiot. She's two heartbeats away from the presidency. I would rather have Biden. At least he's not a socialist/commie like obama. I think enough democrats will be tossed out that obama's second half of his term will be great for American. Nothing will get done. That will be great for the future of my grand children and my country. It will take many years and a lot of work to undo the damage the current regime has done.

One last thing for all you commies who want government health care, I hope you are looking at Greece and her conditions for a bailout. One condition is to privatize their health care to reduce cost. You will bankrupt us.

Anonymous said...

Capitalists are doing a very nice job of bankrupting us all by themselves, thank you very much, with plenty of help from both Democrats and Republicans. We don't need "commies" to ruin America; Wall Street is taking care of that.

The housing crisis was caused by government intervention. Have you already forgotten the Community Reinvestment Act? They forced banks to loan to people who could not pay the loans back.

I have another history lesson for you. Let me see, capitalism in the US for two hundred years creates the most powerful and wealthiest nation this planet has ever seen. Communism in the Soviet Union since the early nineteen hundreds created, I'm not sure what but millions of dead people. Communism in China created seventy million dead people. You can argue that China is an economic powerhouse now. That is only because we exported a lot of our manufacturing over there. They have been supported artificially by capitalism.

Now let's look at Europe. They are going broke fast under socialism.

I can't wait until we follow in their footsteps since socialism and communism are such wonderful systems. I wonder what our economy will look like. Low economic growth and millions of dead people. That's what history tells me.

The Community Reinvestment Act was kinda like socialism. Spread the wealth. How did that go for the USA?

Few things are more pathetic than the spectacle of an uneducated boob such as yourself, Dave, pompously preaching "history lessons" about things you plainly know nothing about to others.

Anon 7:55,

When are you going to learn to read for comprehension? I never said Bush didn't have any connections to or support from the oil industry. What I said is if you're going to criticize Bush regarding "big oil", then you'd better be consistent and give Obama equal lumps. Or would you rather be stuck in the past with your old, tired, stale Bush-bashing?

In case you haven't noticed, Bush is no longer president. Obama won, remember? Looks like you have some catching up to do.

I noticed you didn't bother to respond to anything else I said and instead chose to regurgitate a red herring. Could it be you ran out of thinking caps?

Anon 4:02,

Few things are more pathetic...

And here's one of those few things: using ad hominems in place of honest rebuttal. If you're going to make the claim that Dave "know[s] nothing" of which he speaks, then you'd better be prepared to back it up with facts.

Then again, that would be rather hard in this case, wouldn't it? Communism doesn't have a very good track record.

I'm not sure what Bush or drilling for oil has to do with a story about Kathleen Sebelius deciding what rights we do or do not have.

The predictability of many around here is laughable though:
1. Call Daniel and those who agree
with him a nonsensical name.
2. Use profanity.
3. Blame Bush.
4. Call those who point out the
erroneous arguments against them
stupid while providing no other
rebuttal.
