Some good news

Oregon aims to put Real ID on fast-track
Across the United States, a diverse coalition of states, from left-leaning Massachusetts to right-leaning Arizona, Georgia and Wyoming, are rebelling against the Real ID Act. But Oregon isn't one of them.

For citizens, it would mean this: The next time you renew your driver's license, you will have to produce documents that prove you are who you say you are and you are in the United States legally.

Jim Ludwick of McMinnville, who heads Oregonians for Immigration Reform, told lawmakers Thursday that Oregon is one of only a few states that neither verifies social security numbers nor requires proof of citizenship when issuing licenses.

Thanks to Jim and Rick and everyone who testified/called/emailed to get this ball rolling! We need to continue to keep up the pressure if we expect favorable results on this and other important bills.

In my case if I want to apply more pressure I will need to gain some weight.

So, for the cause I will enjoy a few more hot-dogs and apple pies.

While you are waiting for the food to cook you should call/write Rep Thatcher and Rep Flores and thank them for carrying the ball on this issue!

Thatcher's the real deal-Flores is all show

It is about time this thing gets off the ground. Of course, there will be those who will scream about "government intrusion" etc., etc., ad nauseum ad infinitum. But if they don't want this going through, then maybe they should give up their drivers licenses, pilots licenses (if they have one), SS numbers, company IDs (if they have them), etc. But, it goes without saying that they are not going to do that either. They just like to hear the sound of their own voices howling in their own self-made wildernesses.

Maybe those who are so against this Real Id coming have something to hise. You suppose????

Now, what do you suppose US Truckers are going to do when they encounter a Mexican Truck and Mexican Driver invading on their US territory and livelihood?

My bet is we are going to see Push come to Shove as both the Independent (and some) Union drivers react as they are not folks that I expect will roll-over and die without a fight.

Without many State Police on our highways we just might find Oregon becoming a battle ground.

Myself, I will give a wide swath to any trucks with Mexican plates especially when in close proximity to a US tagged 18 wheeler(s).

Hang on Lupe, hang on!

Allen: I'm a retired trucker (45-plus years with over 3.5 million miles with 1 chargeable accident), so I share your concern about the Mexican truck drivers. I got to see a lot of them back in 73 when I helped take a small drilling rig from Casper, Wyoming to Monterrey, Mexico. Those guys were SCARY to meet on the roads. And we won't even talk about the condition of their equipment.

New law in Mexico. Ignore your wife, go to jail.

Labor has finally (and venally) pulled its collective head out, and is fighting this trucking invasion from the south. Their hypocrisy to-date has been legendary (and sickening). Apparently, trucking is a job that some Americans want to do!

BTW, Mr. Daniel, some idiot with a strange accent (or just a poor imitation of Jose Jimenez) complained that the Real I.D. Act would "have no affect on the number of illegals driving," and in the next SENTENCE said, "and this will have a" devastating "impact on our economy, because the illegals wouldn't be able to get to work, or buy any goods." Such glittering non-sequitors could only come from a product of an Oregon public school, or one of kaelri's close relatives.
All I can say is....bring it on!

Bear,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to be showing an excessive amount of enmity towards Kaelri. Correct me if I'm wrong, but such specific targeting of hostility in these sort of situations usually betrays having been bested by him in the past.

If for no other reason, show some class for our side and don't mention him when not appropriate.

Also, I'm stupid for saying "Correct me if I'm wrong" twice.

Hey, wrench, you're probably not stupid, but time will tell....lol.
Re kaelri; she is quite comfortable labeling political foes as racist, sexist, homophobic, nazi and all the other ad hominum distractions used by libs to change the subject.....anything to avoid her own education. She and her anti-American lefty pals don't get to behave like fools and then claim lofty ideals. If you call me out, I'll be you huckleberry. Just have some facts handy. If you do, you're already a step ahead of the kidiot. If, like the lefties, you hate America, pick a country that's more suited to your nonsense, and go....please.

Bear, you are right about Kaelri. She does in fact use all those terms to describe those of us who have the unmitigated gall to not agree wholeheartedly with her. But if I use the term "Dumocrat" I am childish. Double standards are apparently what she lives by.

hey, scottiebill, we're not the only ones paying attention. She fools no one.

He has never used any of those terms or tactics. Not once. If you don't believe me, go back and check.
