Register your disapointment with Bank of (Central) America for offering credit cards to illegal aliens!
Not only did I send the fax I will now liveblog my phone conversation:
1-800-622-8731
On hold with BofA as I type this. Speaking with Peter. Peter is transferring me to his supervisor after my little speech...
Note: still on hold. The phone tree took a few minutes to get through. Finally I just started speaking gibberish and it transfered me to a live person. I would also point out that the first option under the "other options" category is to send money to Mexico. Way to support the economy.
Speaking with David. Expressed dismay at the foolish business decision to allow people with no SSN to have a line of credit. Expressing dismay over the moral and patriotic ramifications of doing business with criminals. He is actually documented all the points that I am making!!
*You can't garnish wages that don't have an SSN
*How do you determine line of credit when they have no legal wages
*Illegal aliens identify themselves illegaly
*Lost money must be passed on to legitimate customers through less service/higher rates etc
*Won't do business with a business that works openly with criminals
*No different than a store selling meth ingrediants to drug dealers
*Encouraging a "quality of life" for criminals
*Creating an atmosphere where criminals are welcome
That was actually a worthwile 10 minutes. (trusting that David wasn't playing solitaire and rolling his eyes on the other line) He actually tried to reaasurre me about "asset recovery" through use of ITINs and debate a few points with me.
Unfortunately the ITIN is only for filing a tax return (and only for illegal aliens) and not something you put on a W-4. You still have nothing to garnish wages if you have an ITIN. You could take a tax return but why file if you have no obligation to because you make money illegaly?
David apologized several times and will pass on a report to his supervisor regarding my concerns. Now you call!

This decision is going to cause major problems for B of A. I saw the story on O'Reilly tonight, and Dennis Miller closed his account! If I had one there I would too!
The stupidity of this decision astounds me. Let's give credit to people who have no legal identification, and are probably not who they say they are. Talk about enabling identity theft! You can just make up a name and say it's you!
If they are going to do this, then WHY do we need to show ID?
Same thing at DMV, there are two sets of rules: strict ID rules for those of us with a social security number and lax rules for those who don't have an SSN.
I am contacting those locations that host B of A ATM's and telling them of my intent to stop using my B of A bank checking account.
Hitting B of A's income source works.
yes we all must close our accounts, start the movement here, pass it on!!!!!!!!!
Here is the law when it comes to helping an illegal alien. “A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he: assists an illegal alien she/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or encourages that illegal alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.” Federal Law--Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

B of A sucks anyway
I love B of A - I probably go to my local branch 3-4 times a week. But I just sent them this message:
Good morning - I have a business checking account, two credit cards, a personal checking account and a business line of credit with Bank of America. I have been with the company since you aquired Seattle First in the early 90s. I am writing to express my outrage about your corporate decision to offer credit without a social security number. Please reverse this terrible decision immediately. The time and trouble it takes to move banks is significant, and I hope the public pressure you receive for this causes you to reverse your decision before I am compelled to move all my accounts to Wells Fargo - which I will do at the end of the month if this policy is not corrected. I understand you are mostly financially protected through ITIN's, but you are empowering illegal aliens to continue to drain the resources of taxpayers through the use of social services and criminal activities. No explanation will suffice - only action. I will refrain from closing my accounts until Feb 28 in anticipation of you coming to your senses.
Isn't there a branch of Federal government, like the SEC or the Treasury Department, that has control of the banking systems? It would seem to me that they could lower the boom on the B of A for their actions of giving credit cards to the illegals. If this were to happen, it might be unlikely that the American Criminal Liberties Union would challenge them. If they did challenge this action, then maybe someone would look into the ACLU's finances and where they are coming from.
Naaaahhh!! Ain't gonna happen at all, at all.
Bill O'Reilly is doing a good job of getting the story out. But his solution is amnesty by another name. A lot of sound and fury from O'Reilly, but at the end of the day he wants to "legalize" 14 million illegal aliens with "individual determination hearings" held later with presently undefined criteria.
How many illegal aliens do you think would get "a pathway to citizenship" from this "solution"?
Answer: Millions, how many millions?
Any where between 10 million and 17-19 million depending on how many illegal aliens are actually here, and that could be up to 25-30 million.
So, just remember with O'Reilly he talks tough, but wants amnesty at the end of the day.
Bill O'Reilly solution after all is said and done is amnesty.
Scottie Bill: While we would hope that the Federal Government would be against aidding and abetting criminal activity, the Federal Reserve(technically a private org.) actually is complicite in the crime.
"As U.S. leaders craft policies to curb illegal immigration from Mexico, the U.S. Federal Reserve is devising programs to extend banking services to undocumented immigrants. A new remittance program aims to bring Mexican migrants who send money home into the mainstream U.S. financial system, regardless of their immigration status."
"To use the service, a Mexican need only possess a matricula consular, an I.D. issued by the Mexican consulate in most major U.S. cities to those with proof of Mexican birth or citizenship, or a picture I.D. card issued by the U.S. or another foreign government. The idea is to make it cheaper and safer for Mexican workers to send funds to their relatives."
Anonymous 10:06: If you are serious about this please don't concider Wells Fargo. They have been doing the same scam for years and are actually proud of that fact.
"In the past several years, big U.S. consumer companies -- banks, insurers, mortgage lenders, credit-card outfits, phone carriers, and others -- have decided that a market of 11 million or so potential customers is simply too big to ignore. It may be against the law for the Valenzuelas to be in the U.S. or for an employer to hire them, but there's nothing illegal about selling to them.
So with a wary eye on the heated political debate, business is targeting the Valenzuelas and millions of others who have entered the country illegally. Many companies do so more or less openly. Wells Fargo has half a million matrícula accounts, a majority of them, they acknowledge, opened by unauthorized aliens who lack regular residency or citizenship papers. At the Valenzuelas' branch, fully 80% of accounts are opened by matrícula holders. "
The only alternative is to stay away from big national banks and use local owned banks and credit unions.
P.S. you can go to send free faxes to BofA to show your outrage toward this action. Sorry, for some reason I can't insert links today.
DANNY BOY....YOU REALLY NEED A HOBBY.....TRY HUNTING TURKEYS....
"Bank of America: 'Higher Standards.'"
Higher standards my ass!
come on guys! they're not "advertizing" for "illegals" per say...just for those without SSN...so, i'm taking my young nieces to get their first LOC with BofA. whoohoo for them! their first credit card and still no responsibility to the debt! now, if BofA refuses to give the LOC to them, then isn't that discrimination??!!
Wells Fargo has been doing this for YEARS! Michelle Malkin even write about it back in 2001!.

LIAR!!!!
My wife works for Wells Fargo. They don't do this.
They will open a checking account, but that means money in the bank and 2 forms of I.D.
Calm down Little Mike. You're right Wells Fargo doesn't issue credit cards to illegals yet.
But, "We are also looking at the possibility of offering unsecured credit cards to customers who may not have Social Security numbers," Wells Fargo spokeswoman Mary Trigg said.
"Wells Fargo has opened 525,000 matrícula accounts, which now represent 6% of the bank's total. It opens 800 new accounts a day across the 23 states in which it does business. Wells expanded the program to a Guatemalan matrícula in 2002 and an Argentinian version in 2003."
"...matrícula consular, for which more than half the applicants are undocumented immigrants, according to the Pew Hispanic center..."
"By removing this barrier," Pike explained, "we want Mexican citizens to know that Wells Fargo welcomes their business and wants to be the financial services company of choice for the Hispanic community."
The Matricula Consular is a photo identification card issued by local consulates to Mexican nationals living in foreign countries. The card is valid for five years, and applicants are not questioned about their immigration status. It costs applicants $29.
"These cards are issued almost exclusively to illegal aliens," charged Craig Nelson, director of ProjectUSA, an advocacy group created "to inform the public" about "mass immigration and overpopulation."
Information published by the Mexican government corroborates Nelson's claim.
Yeah these traitors only offer home loans, car loans and checking accounts so far.
