It's time for re-education camps

Individualized Travel Behavior Change
The purpose of an individualized travel behavior change program is to reduce vehicle miles traveled through one-on-one contact with participants in a specific geographical area or in a targeted group.

Organizations deliver local transportation information to the target group such as employees, seniors, or students and provide assistance to the participants in exploring travel alternatives.

If you don't work for government then you are in the targeted group. Look forward to that "one-on-one" time with a bureaucrat who has decided to get you to walk to work in the rain.

But let me guess: You'd like to see government make reciting the Pledge of Allegience mandatory in schools, yes?

I would like to see government employees saying: "Wow, our paychecks are generated out of taxes the private sector pays, perhaps, WE should get off their asses so they can earn money."

ANON 7:21 hell yeah!

I think the target group should be public employees. They all work at the same place, are roughly in the same geographical area and have the same travel behavior. They should all be forced to use public transportation. Think of the global warming that will be prevented by forcing all government employees to use the bus and trains and trams and whatever else there is.

I would accept the use of bikes as an alternative. However, they should pay a registration fee. Maybe we could force all government employees to ride bikes. That might be a better choice.

In my community they are spending literally millions and millions to put in two dedicated lanes for busses and they will purchase some 1/2 million $ double busses for this new route. Right now it is serviced by regular busses on existing roads. But our small town has decided we need a mega mover. Most of the existing busses run around 1/2 the time empty!! Why is that? If you owned this business and didn't depend an oppressive taxes for your operating expenses you would adjust the schedule to make the system more efficient. What is the advantage to the city to drive an empty 3MPG $500,000 bus on a $50 million dedicated road by a driver paid $80K a year? What we need to do is eliminate the subsidy to public transportation (make it pay for itself) and also make them pay the fuel tax.

Something tells me that Miglavs' cry-baby posts about government transportation policy will decrease in frequency over the years in direct proportion to the price of a gallon of gasoline, although I suppose he will find some way to blame $15/gallon gas on illegal immigration.

If they didn't drive those SUV's around carrying all those anchor babies, we wouldn't have $15.00 per gallon gas. They have to drive them around for the free (to them) education, hospital visits and social services. See, the illegals are causing global warming. Here they drive a gas guzzling SUV and in their home country they walk, ride a donkey or camel. Stop illegal immigration and stop global warming.

If we used our massive oil resources we would have $1.50 gasoline.

LOL! I knew you could do it, Dave. Had to give up on your global warming denial to do it, but you did it! Kudos!

In Miglavia, "illegal aliens" can afford SUVs.

Welcome to Miglavia.

In Anonymousland, people who enter the country illegally are not illegal aliens, but the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan under President Bush were illegal despite being authorized and funded by Congress.

Welcome to Anonymousland.

And let's see, where in this thread did anyone defend illegal immigration or even mention wars in Iraq, Afghanistan or President Bush?

Oh ... I guess no one did.

You okay, FP?

No my friend, they can afford SUV's right here in Salem! I see them daily during working hours driving around with the circus music blasting. I mean, do they really think we are impressed when we see/hear that? Ha! They ARE stupid enough though to think that. I myself am not buying the whole cowboy look. C'mon, the whole getup, the hat, boots, western style belt buckle. Where's the farm pal? Oh, wait a minute, it's back in Mexico right? Sooo gross! Ewww

Massive? See the following, Dave:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Federal scientists say the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska contains less than one-tenth of the amount of oil they previously estimated.

The U.S. Geological Survey says new data puts the new estimate at 896 million barrels of oil, compared with the agency's 2002 mean estimate of 10.6 billion barrels.

The USGS also has cut its estimates of natural gas in the sprawling reserve, from a mean estimate of 61 trillion cubic feet to 53 trillion cubic feet.

The agency's 2002 estimates ranged from 5.9 billion to 13.2 billion barrels for oil and 39 trillion to 83 trillion cubic feet for natural gas.

The USGS says its new numbers are based on factors including seismic surveys and drilling of more than 30 exploration wells.

Keep dreaming the dream, Dave.
