I hope he gets boo'd

The RNC Meets to Draft Their Platform: Sparks Fly on the Issue of Illegal Immigration
All eyes may be on Denver this week, but the Republican National Committee began their meetings to draft an election platform today ahead of next week’s convention. Sparks flew when delegates got into debate over illegal immigration, which reflected where John McCain originally stood on the issue, but has now taken a more conservative stance.

Two delegates wanted to harden the language surrounding the issue of amnesty. The draft read, “We oppose amnesty.” But, delegates from North Carolina and Colorado wanted to include opposition to “comprehensive immigration reform” because they believe it is a code word for amnesty. This sparked a heated discussion between members with a delegate from Washington DC who said that the Republican Party is a “not a xenophobic party, not an intolerant party. We are a compassionate party that follows the rule of law and endorses federal law,” said Bud McFarlane.

This is what happens to Republicans when they let democrats define us. The spineless among us start to use the dems lingo ("intolerant") and use it when they don't have a logical argument.

Imagine: "We are a party who follows the rule of law but think that we should reward lawbreakers... no wait, you're just intolerant.

If our federal immigration laws were really enforced, we wouldn't have nearly so many illegal aliens in our country. And, as a result, crime rates would plummet.

We have many existing laws that prohibit illegal entry into our country as well as employment of illegal aliens.

It's so sad watching the ruling elite cherry picking which of our laws they choose to enforce. What kind of example does that set for the rest of our citizenry?

Funny! I so hope the anti-immigrant voices are loud at the REpubicant Convection as it will drive every ounce of Latino and Independent supporters into the arms of Obama. So please all you anti-immigrant swine, be a loud and vocal as you can.

It's not about being anti-immigrant as it is simply being against ILLEGAL immigration. But, then, you looney lefties already know that. You never miss a chance to play the race card or the anti-Mexican BS card, huh?

Try using your brain, anonymous. And, why don't you create a username here so we can differentiate you from all the other loopy anony's?

Gumby: In your 844 postYou mentioned the ruling elite cherry-picking which laws to enforce or not enforce. That statement surely would include Ol' Taliban Tommy and his Toadies on the Portland City Council, wouldn't it? And, of course, Teddy the Useless and Guillermo Bradbury.

And, BTW, Guillermo was on the news last night saying that he is considering running for governor of Oregon. As bad as Teddy the Useless is in that office, Guillermo would be many times worse. He is the epitome of the cherry-picking politician as far as enforcing laws, not enforcing laws, and twisting things like the Oregon voting laws as regards the initiative process to suit his own beliefs and to hell with what the people want.

The trap that our dear leaders seemingly keep falling into is a variant of the "all/some" argument. That is to say, they are unwilling to admit that all illegal immigrants are illegal immigrants. And before a representative of the nursury industry attacks me as racist, I'm referring to all illegal immigrants, whether they are from England, France, Italy or Russia. (Want a picture of illegal immigration? Visit Little Odessa.)

I'm parroting what gumby has said, I guess. I wish our dear leaders didn't get caught up in a semantics game of trying to determine which illegal aliens are less illegal than others.

We don't need "comprehensive immigration reform" we need "comprehensive enforcement reform".
It's very simple. The people that are behind the obstruction of justice and sanctuary city status need to be prosecuted for violation of federal law under the RICO act and thrown in jail for encouraging these unlawful activities.
The weak arguments and hand wringing about our inability to deport these criminals and breaking up families is simply an excuse to do nothing.
The more you pander to these invaders the more they demand.
If the legal Hispanic community is so concerned with being profiled and lumped in with the illegal criminal element then get on board and help us get rid of these law breakers. You can't have it both ways. If you are going continue to hide and aid the criminals then you deserve to be targeted as a co-conspirator.

Just remember who Senator McCain in courting. Not anti-immigrant conservatives by any means.

McCain and “Daddy Yankee” — strange bedfellows

In one of the more unusual press conferences of the election season, Sen. John McCain was endorsed Monday by Latin music star “Daddy Yankee.

“Daddy Yankee,” aka Ramon Ayala, praised McCain’s stance on immigration.

Ayala became a megastar in the world of Reggaeton with his 2004 hit “Gasolina.” Reggaeton is a mix of hip hop and Latin dance music such as salsa and merengue.

McCain mentioned the song at the presser. He may not have realized that it uses gasoline as a metaphor for sex. For example, the song says, “a ella le gusta la gasolina” or “she likes the gasoline” and “dame mas gasolina” or “give me more gasoline.”

The music video leaves little doubt to the meaning behind the song. It features scantily clad women gyrating, fast cars, police in riot gear, and “Daddy Yankee” carrying a night stick.

ScottieBill,

I agree with you. Bill Bradbury would abuse the Governor's Office just as badly as he has abused his office as Sec of State.

He has disenfranchised hundreds of thousands of Oregon voters. He needs to be investigated by an independent agency. He's as crooked as the Deschutes River.

So it's "us" now, Daniel? So you ARE a Republican after all? I guess that means you'll be voting for McCain then, just as predicted. My, the more things "change" the more they stay the same.

Bwaaaahahahahahahaha!

McCain is no Republican and he certainly isn't ready to lead. I am doing a write-in. Probably Ron Paul for lack of someone better. Maybe Bob Barr. Certainly No McCain, No Way.

Here is a bit that solved any thoughts of voting him in.

I'm sending mail to the Republican in Washington county to let them know how you support Obama on that other site at M&N. When they see your posts you will have to be a DemoRat
