COOPERATION OF SCAAP RECIPIENTS IN THE REMOVAL OF CRIMINAL ALIENS FROM THE UNITED STATES
We were able to locate an official “sanctuary” policy for only two jurisdictions that received at least $1 million in SCAAP funding, the State of Oregon, which received $3.4 million, and the City and County of San Francisco, which received $1.1 million and has designated itself as a “City and County of Refuge.”
The Oregon policy begins by stating, “No law enforcement agency of the State of Oregon or of any political subdivision of the state shall use agency moneys, equipment or personnel for the purpose of detecting or apprehending persons whose only violation of law is that they are persons of foreign citizenship present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws.”
SCAAP is the "state criminal alien assistance program." It's purpose it to reimburse the state for costs associated with housing illegal aliens in our jails. (It most certainly doesn't cover the whole cost)
This audit makes the interesting point that Oregon asks for this "assistance" and receives quite a bit while at the same time being as friendly as possible to illegal aliens.
It's a shameful day when Oregon gets singled out, along with San Fransisco, as being criminal friendly.
NOTE: Our governor wants to have his cake and eat it too. I can't imagine him being more illegal alien friendly but then he has the nerve to call the SCAAP in Oregon "underfunded" in his budget (search term highlighted)

The Governors position is typical of most liberals. They exacerbate the problem, and then complain about the lack of funding to deal with it. It’s called no problem, no funding.
Tim's right! Witness Teddy's new brain-fart - taxing beer to fund the State Police. (Teddy has never seen a tax or a tax-idea that he doesn't like). Then he wants to spend 2/3 of a Billion $ on new radios for the half-strength State Police instead of using that money, which he says the state doesn't have,(but always has money enough for some stupid thing, like the Tram) for something that will do more good: Public Safety. Other states have a radio system that works very well at a fraction of the cost. Oh, well. The people of Oregon voted this clown back into office. Now they are going to have to put up with him for another 4 years.
