My first duck!

(Picture was taken after I got home, didn't bring camera with me)

After many weekends of coming home empty handed I finally killed a duck. It was a Ringneck and he's in the oven right now!

One more weekend in the season...

Eat heartily! and many more times over the years. Congrats to you, a provider.

Update: the duck was actually quite good. My wife seasoned it very nicely and cooked it with potatos.

We'll have to go together sometime Bear!

I do enjoy trap shooting at the Tri-County Gun Club. (I did go there with Bear) And for some reason I can hit clays a lot easier than I can hit ducks...

You shoot a shotgun?

Congrats on the duck! I can't hit the broad side of a barn, so I am in awe. Hope you had a great time.

Daniel,

Where did you get the duck? I'm new to the area and a novice duck hunter, but don't know where to go around Portland.

We are very lucky to have Sauvie Island close by. This is my first season so I'm still learning it (and the area has quite a curve) but I've been going to the North Unit.

I really recommend the book Game Bird Hunting in Oregon to anyone who needs help finding good public hunting opportunities.

"Meat is Murder!!!"

Guess what? Plants are alive, too. Ever stop and think about their feelings?
