It's tax time and that means that Jackson-Hewitt, H&R Block, etc are all advertising their "rapid refund" service.
What is a "rapid refund?" It is essentially a payday loan. For an exhorbitant fee (exhorbitant is defined not by the marketplace but by democrat politicians) you get your money 2-3 weeks early.
So... since Kulongoski and co. were all so anxious to say vile things about payday lenders I am calling for him to have a press conference today where he will describe H&R Block as "predatory." Really, I want to see that. Or is Kulongoski afraid of big tax. (said in the same tone as you would say "big oil" or "big tobacco")
Come on Governor, be consistent. You know that some good Republicans in the legislature would support a bill restricting the "predatory" and "vile" practices of offering consumers choice. After all, interfering with the market and increasing government regulation is what our current crop of R's are all about.
I'm sorry to the folks who just had a pipe break, a transmission go out, etc but I'm just not willing to let you fall "victim" to the predators at big tax. You will have to wait a few weeks to get your money. I know better than you.

now daniel for one who cant shoot a bb gun in the city limits, why would you be in favor of more regulation
Why would anyone want/need a "pay day" loan.
Only reason I can think of, is that you have to do business with a cash-only company.
Say your car was towed?
Tow, storage, & gate fees are typically, cash only transactions.
Why would anyone want/need transfats? Just try for southern fried chicken without using Crisco.
Remember, the
party of choice is not about choice at all.
Sorry Daniel, I think you missed the mark on this one.
Uhhh, it's sarcasm... did I not lay it on thick enough?
Sarcasm doesn't always translate in text. I got your point, Daniel, but I can understand why some didn't.
Saw your blog about consolidation consumer counseling credit debt serv - as it is along the same lines I thought I would share this link with you. We were paying far too much for family things like clothes for us and the kids, games consoles inc the new Wii and soon to be PS3, car insurance/home insurance/pet insurance, broadband, mobile phones, landline calls, home and garden items, camping equipment and utilities/loans etc - you name it, we were spending too much on it.
Then a friend of mine recommended a site called www.bargainplace.co.uk. We were able to get cheaper electricity, gas, mobile phone, broadband and loan deals at bargainplace. Thanks to my friend (and the site) I am saving something like £100 a month and can afford an extra holiday abroard each year. Booked of course on www.bargainplace.co.uk. Thanks bargainplace ;-) !!
