Musings so random you'll think I've gone nuts

Love the new Oregon.gov website. Especially the pink tones... really makes you look effeminate Teddy.

Of course front and center is an "Enjoy the holiday choirs at the Capitol" story. Can't say Christmas, no sir. Unfortunately the webmaster seems to have some sort of politically correct terrets syndrome since when you mouse over the picture of the Christmas tree the caption actually calls it a Christmas tree! How offensive.

Even funnier, the actual file name of the picture calls it a "december tree."

Now with absolutely no sense of irony the Oregon Department of Education has showed us what they really see when they look at a school house:

The actual file name from the ODE website it moneyhouselarge. Now all we need is little dollar signs representing children walking around outside...

We can call this "the house that unions built."

In other "they spend out tax dollars so well" news I'm glad to report that DHS has created "diversity badges" for their receptionists.

"These magnetic backed badges are worn by bilingual reception staff to identify them to clients who do not speak English or would rather speak in their native language."

If you would rather speak in your native language then why don't you go back to your native country?

Moving on, I'd like to point you to a great website TheReligionofPeace.com where they share my sentiments about the Imams threatened boycott. Please, Muslims, boycott the airlines, we won't try to stop you.

I know that this is completely off topic. This is mainly meant for the crew that denied that an American citizen could be arrested without invoking the writ of habeas corpus. "Videotape Offers a Window Into a Terror Suspect’s Isolation."

Please forgive the tangent.

What? Is that a house for ants? How can they learn anything if they can't fit in the building?

Oh poor Jose...

There's a group of marines in shackles still waiting to be formally charged in camp Pendleton, too.

Where's their writ, Bryan?

Well Chris, if you're referring to those serving in the U.S. Armed forces, they would be subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Bryan, this topic is only a tangent for those who don't see the larger picture. Those who still have faith in one party or the other will never be able to connect the dots and will do the bidding of those wishing to establish the North American Union and the New World Order. Why would an American citizen not be allowed to talk to his council for 21 months? The more you look into this case the scarier it gets.

No report or pics from Satturday's event?

I love the alternate text that spells Christmas in all lower case. Is the copy editor asleep?

"December Tree in the picture's file is more likely to do with a file naming convention or format for publishing reference and organization than a political statement.

The Imam's weren't thinking about sitting at the exit rows on the plane just for the luxury of extra leg room.

Unfortunately, you are correct, Bobkatt. I posted more on this topic at my blog, but the implications this has for the future of the United States are truly terrifying.

I just saw Hannity and Colmes....the report on that "black professor" at No. Carolina U. that gave a speech about how white people need to be exterminated. He stated "all" (not just some) ALL white people need to be exterminated. Let's see how long it is going to take for Jesse and Al to say this shouldn't be said or at least speak out against it. The Rev. Jesse Lee Patterson who was on to rebuke the "black prof" stated that this is an undercurrent running in the black community that sort of "OK" this opinion but not out loud in public. Michael Richards just basically blew his whole career recently...WHY IS THIS RACIST NIGGER STILL TEACHING OUR KIDS....better yet, why was he in a major university in the first place with his views. According to the report this is not new.....his rhetoric, in the university. I hear other minorities sort of say the same sentiments about white people.....NOTHING IS EVER DONE....NEVER!!!. People wonder why i can't stand niggers....this is one big reason. They spout off this rhetoric anywhere they want and everybody cowers in fear to speak out against it. I'm sick and tired of listening to this crap from ALL minorities. Illegals spout off about taking back my country and putting my ass back on the "Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria". BULLSHIT on them. They are already picking my pocket every single day their "anchor brats" are in my schools, when they buy their groceries with my tax-supported Oregon Trail Card and use doctors to clear up their sore throats or diarheea. I will not take this laying down and cowering in fear....I will speak up....ALWAYS!!!.

I saw the same report on "Hannity and Colmes" Bruce, and that professor, if not already, needs to be fired. That professor is certaintly a textbook example of a racist and his speech is not protected because what the professor said is "hate speech" and that is not protected speech (as I heard Bill O'Reilly mention prior to the Hannity and Colmes show in response to an e-mail on another subject).

We already have Michael Richards ("Kramer") apologizing for the excessive use of the word "nigger" towards a couple of hecklers to insult and injure in the 17 November "Laugh In." This professor is promoting hatred with the means of genocide against a specific race, which he is placing himself in the lines of Adolf Hitler, and his comments are offensive and intolerable for an educational institution.

Calm down. The white race will not be exterminated. No sane person believes that it should, and the insane don't have the numbers to act on it. Fire the professor, let that be the end of it. Stop giving his idiocy free advertising.

Big Mike Lewis said...

Yikes.

Calm down dude...no need for using the 'N' word.

It's worse than idiocy, and the inability to comprehend that fact is a problem with many idealists like you, Kaehri. It wasn't "free advertising", this racist prof was SUBSIDIZED BY THE STATE. Odd how your tolerance, like your intolerance, is conditional.

Fire the professor, charge him with one of the left's favorites - a "hate crime", AND fire all those who implicitly supported him by keeping him in his position. Sue the school, the state board, and boycott/picket them 'til this racist monster and his enablers are gone/jailed.

Non-violently, of course.

Oh, and bruce, way to go, man. It's people like you that give honkies a bad name.

Ricky,

Weren’t you the one who got upset when people spelled your screen name wrong? If you have trouble spelling kaelri’s name wrong, you can always “cut and paste.”

Anyway, yes, this guy was subsidized by the state. He isn’t anymore. If any of you had been paying attention to the Hannity and Colmes “report,” you would be aware that this guy no longer works for the University of Northern Carolina. He was probably fired when he made public his views on “white people.” As far as Kaelri having conditional tolerance (or intolerance), I think once again that you epitomize the stupidity found some right wingers by assuming too much.

“Fire the professor, charge him with one of the left's favorites - a "hate crime", AND fire all those who implicitly supported him by keeping him in his position. Sue the school, the state board, and boycott/picket them 'til this racist monster and his enablers are gone/jailed.”

Hate crime? I don’t see how he caused any bodily injury. As far as I know, he has no “position” anymore. Neo-Nazis are allowed to have rallies and lectures promoting their views. Why shouldn’t he?

Sue the school? They canned him. Should we sue North Carolina University for firing someone who turned out to be a racist? We’d have more luck suing a school for having an alumni that was racist.

Is this guy racist? Yes. Should legal action be taken against him? No. He hasn’t hurt anyone with his speech, nor has he unconstitutionally impeded on anyone’s rights.

I was referring to you, not them. The professor has been fired, thus stripped of all his powers of persuasion down to his constitutional right to free speech, which of course he is entitled to. Any further diatribes against him only boosts his publicity. (It's the same reason why Ann Coulter wasn't bothered at all by the national outcry over her snipes at the 9-11 widows. Quite the contrary. Think of what it did for her book revenues.)

I appreciate your assistance, Bryan.

Also, I'm already aware that I should have written "problems spelling Kaelri's name right" instead of "problems spelling Kaelri's name wrong." I also probably should have omitted the "an" that is next to "alumni."

Kaelri said...

Oh, to hell with the semantics.

"If a guy is a good neighbor, if he puts in a day, if every once in a while he laughs, if every once in a while he thinks about somebody else and, above all else, if he can find his way to compassion and tolerance, then he’s my brother, and I don’t give a damn if he didn’t get past finger-painting. What I can’t stomach are people who’re out to convince people that the educated are soft, and privileged, and out to make them feel like they’re less than, you know, "he may be educated, but I’m plain-spoken, just like you!" Especially when we know that education can be a silver bullet, it can be the silver bullet!... For crime, poverty, unemployment, drugs, hate..." -TWW 3-14

See what happens?

Hey, touche', you got me fair and square - although "upset" is your take.

One for you (not that I keep score or anything) ;-).

Sorry, Kaelri, no offense intended with the name thing - that's usually blatantly obvious.

My comment about the prof was a send-up, an exercise in hyperbole, a literary device to point out irony. It's not a difficult concept unless you're terminally literal-minded. My guess is that you're not - just willfully obtuse at times when it suits you to help make a point.

Fair enough.

Let the games continue.

As a gringo who speaks Spanish in the jobplace, I'd rather go around in cognito. I don't need no stinkin' badge. I want to hear what these people really think without them knowing that I am onto them, and then, occasionally, I get to drop the hammer.

Point worth making, in fairness. But you have to understand: when I throw my hat in this ring, I can't afford to be anything but literal-minded.

Aimless rhetoric, like Bear's "sheesh" or "kidiot," is safe to ignore, but I've crossed paths with people who passionately advocate positions that couldn't be more absurd without being mistaken for satire. You're talking to a guy who argues with the Dennis Pragers who think it desecrates our civilization if we don't force people to swear oaths on the Bible. I argue with the Daniels who think an upside-down flag in an anti-war banner is an unspeakable act of anti-American vitriol. I argue with people who want to amend the constitution to keep people from burning the flag or stop gays from getting married. When I'm communicating with people in this environment, I simply don't trust myself to pick up sarcasm.

I guess I should have known. I would gently suggest that you take yourself and others too seriously. I'm sure there's a good reason (or reasons), but it sure can make life less enjoyable.

Not to put too fine a point on it but, when I check your blogger profile, I see, under "industry", you've put "government", a little warning light goes on in my head.

My two rules are:

#1 Don't sweat the small stuff.

#2 It's almost ALL small stuff.

Please note: AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) falls into a different category than other languages we make accomodations for. Most Deaf are not able to learn to speak or hear English. The accomodation for them makes perfect sense.

Simply put, this isn't the place I go to enjoy myself.
