But you have to understand: when I throw my hat in this ring, I can't afford to be anything but literal-minded.

Aimless rhetoric, like Bear's "sheesh" or "kidiot," is safe to ignore, but I've crossed paths with people who passionately advocate positions that couldn't be more absurd without being mistaken for satire. You're talking to a guy who argues with the Dennis Pragers who think it desecrates our civilization if we don't force people to swear oaths on the Bible. I argue with the Daniels who think an upside-down flag in an anti-war banner is an unspeakable act of anti-American vitriol. I argue with people who want to amend the constitution to keep people from burning the flag or stop gays from getting married. If any of you had been paying attention to the Hannity and Colmes “report,” you would be aware that this guy no longer works for the University of Northern Carolina. He was probably fired when he made public his views on “white people.” As far as Kaelri having conditional tolerance (or intolerance), I think once again that you epitomize the stupidity found some right wingers by assuming too much.

“Fire the professor, charge him with one of the left's favorites - a "hate crime", AND fire all those who implicitly supported him by keeping him in his position. As far as I know, he has no “position” anymore. Neo-Nazis are allowed to have rallies and lectures promoting their views. Why shouldn’t he?

Sue the school? They canned him. Should we sue North Carolina University for firing someone who turned out to be a racist? We’d have more luck suing a school for having an alumni that was racist.

Is this guy racist? Yes. Should legal action be taken against him? No. He hasn’t hurt anyone with his speech, nor has he unconstitutionally impeded on anyone’s rights.Bryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06631702584431805967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11266150.post-1165444707418207442006-12-06T14:38:00.000-08:002006-12-06T14:38:00.000-08:00"Fire the professor, let that be the end of it. That professor is certaintly a textbook example of a racist and his speech is not protected because what the professor said is "hate speech" and that is not protected speech (as I heard Bill O'Reilly mention prior to the Hannity and Colmes show in response to an e-mail on another subject).

We already have Michael Richards ("Kramer") apologizing for the excessive use of the word "nigger" towards a couple of hecklers to insult and injure in the 17 November "Laugh In." This professor is promoting hatred with the means of genocide against a specific race, which he is placing himself in the lines of Adolf Hitler, and his comments are offensive and intolerable for an educational institution.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11266150.post-1165293016892206352006-12-04T20:30:00.000-08:002006-12-04T20:30:00.000-08:00"The more you look into this case the scarier it g..."The more you look into this case the scarier it gets."

Unfortunately, you are correct, Bobkatt.
