Clean power, big fish

Had a great time at the Bonneville damn and fish hatchery this weekend. For any of you enviros that worry about the fish you should really take a visit there.

And for those of you who want to see it right now you can see the Bonneville Fishcam. (site has a certificate error but it's a .mil website put on by the US Army Corps of Engineers)

YOU STILL NEED A HOBBY.....

Huh I thought fishing was a hobby or a sport or maybe even a way of life.

Damn Daniel you can't even do a post about fish without someone giving you a hard time. Can you do anything right?

Beakeer need to expand his vocabulary. This "Need a Hobby" thing is pretty worn out and stale. (Insert "Worn out and Tired" joke here)

This ought to get things rolling.

What kind of viciousness does a "person" have in his heart to enjoy torturing our fish brothers and sisters with a hook in the throat! No civilised person would engage in such an atrocity and then call it "sport".

beakeer must be related to sally "one trick pony" field. *yawn*

To Fish Have Rights To....

Do you not have any feelings for the plants you eat? I tell you what go let the whales, sharks, otters, seals, etc... that they are being mean by eating the poor little fish.

It is amazing to me how some people want to push animal rights on everyone. Believe it or not we are carnivors that would be the reason why we have teeth to eat meat with. Oh yeah I don't really see any fish jumping into the frying pan to avoid getting a hook in its mouth.

If you want to eat a fish, do you have to torture it to death first? Does it make you feel good, that you can inflict pain, fear and despair on an innocent creature, that God created? Shame.

God created the lions, and tigers, and bears too and trust me when they kill it hurts like hell. Don't you ever watch animal planet?

Please be careful and not step on any ants or bugs they are God's creatures as well and I'm sure it hurts them.

Good grief people really amaze me!!!!!

You smug fish-murderers haven't responded to any of the points I made, or the questions I asked. In short, I win.

Fish have rights too,

First off, I can tell that you haven't done your research. Fish, when hooked properly, don't get hooked in the throat, they get hooked in the boney plate on the lower jaw. Secondly, scientists agree that it does not hurt, since the number of nerves in that area are practically zero.

Additionally, I have hooked fish, released them, and then watched them take the same fly again minutes later. If they were in pain, don't you think they would sit it out for a bit until they aren't hurting anymore?

As for how I "feel" when I hook a fish...I feel great. Sport fishing is a great tradition around the world, and I am certain that my son is much better off having fishing as a hobby rather than than staying at home and vegging out (no offense) on the X-Box.

I practice both catch and release fishing, as well as catch, gut, cook, and eat fishing. No little pansie like you is going to change my mind regarding fishing.

The knothead who goes by "fish have rights too" med really be off his meds and somehow got out of his strait-jacket and escaped from the Home.

At the risk of bringing out the religious nuts, the Bible said that J.C. fed the mulititudes with bread and fish. Of course, back then the
fishermen, whom the 12 apostles were, they caught the fish in nets and let them suffocate in the air. Shame on those vicious apostles!!!!

Fish Have Rights, if you return quietly to the Home and go back to your room with the mattresses on the walls, maybe the administrators will let you have some dessert tonight. Maybe even tapioca! YUM!!!!

animals breathe in oxygen and emit carbon dioxide.

carbon dioxide emissions cause GLOBAL WARMING.

we must reduce carbon dioxide emissions to stop global warming.

killing animals reduces the number of carbon dioxide emitters and thus reduces carbon dioxide emission and thus stops global warming.

Therefore,

every concerned environmentalist should go out RIGHT NOW and start slaughtering the wildlife.

it's the only to save the planet!

"Fish, when hooked properly, don't get hooked in the throat, they get hooked in the boney plate on the lower jaw."

And of course they get hooked properly every time! Idiot. They get hooked whereever the hook catches their flesh, not the same place every time.

"scientists agree that it does not hurt, since the number of nerves in that area are practically zero."

Bullshit. If it didn't hurt, the fish wouldn't struggle and writhe in pain! And "practically zero" isn't "zero."

"If they were in pain, don't you think they would sit it out for a bit until they aren't hurting anymore?"

Fish can't sit, idiot! People used to say fish is "brain food", I guess you proved them wrong.

The bacteria giving you your next infection have rights as well in your universe.

So ... will you please refrain from murdering bacteria with antiseptics, chlorinated water, and antibiotics?
