Our future was shown during the Super Bowl

It would be funny if this wasn't the dream of our glorious leaders.

Thanks Daniel for posting a video illustrating the Miglavian version of reality. In the real world, where the rest of us live, Oregon has had the bottle bill for nearly 40 years, and I don't think in that entire time has anyone ever been arrested and jailed for not ensuring that their bottles and cans get into the recycling stream. In fact, some of them are thrown away on our public beaches, and every year some of us go down there and clean them up. Interesting tidbit: No one that I know of has ever complained that we have "socialized" beaches.

Come visit us in the real world, sometime, Daniel. But for God's sake, please don't stay.

You need to get a life and they buy a clue. How daft can one person be? You are proof there are no ends to that question.

Our future? I sure hope so...I sure hope so. And if it were, what would be so bad about protecting our environment for future generations.

The car looks pretty cool.

I need to get a life? I'm not the one posting videos of Super Bowl commercials and pronouncing them political manifestos of some imagined Bolshevik menace. Back to your play-pen, Pinkie.

The future is now. Isn't there a bill being introduced in the "emergency" session in Salem outlawing plastic bags at grocery stores in Oregon? Just think how many more government jobs could be created with "green police." Not to mention union dues for all of those employees to the public employee union.

Anonymous said...

If you actually, truly believe that a law banning plastic bags in grocery stores is going to lead to a world that even remotely resembles the Miglavian wet dream depicted in the commerical, then I suspect you are one of these idiotic tea bagging freaks.

Anonymous said...

Lets just all agree the commercial is a joke.
OKAY. A JOKE.
J O K E. ....

Perhaps if some of you that don’t get the joke could simply put down that bong and sober up for 5 minutes you would agree the commercial is damn funny.

However, no matter whom you are or what you think about the eco movement. THERE ARE THOSE in the ECO movement...that would love for the commercial to be true.

***POINT BEING MADE HERE< PAY ATTENTION****

Those that would love for there to be 'green cops' busting people for things like using a light bulbs, or drinking from a plastic bottles. OH, for the crimes against Gia…..

OKAY...A JOKE. GET IT...
J O K E.

Funny huh...

Before your little daft mind comes back with a lame response...WHAT DOES E.L.F. MISSION STATEMENT SAY? READ IT.

OKAY (now we can agree)...THERE ARE THOSE ON THE ECO SIDE THAT WOULD LOVE THIS. You know who they are too…those guys that pour gas on themselves and light a match because of the crimes against the planet. The tree sitters come to mind as well, You know the ones that sit in a tree only to die when they fall out of it. Those types of “eco” mouth breathers.

I find it funny that those on the nazi side of that movement like the ELF can never take a joke or even laugh at their own absurdity. Lighten up children...

Pinkie French

Um ... DUH, Pinkie. Of course it's funny. And I suppose that the "Nazi" (do you even know what that actually means?) side of the ELF does see it as a desireable way to live. Fortunately, the ELF is a fringe movement, which doesn't even have a membership equal to the numbers who are dedicated to that other fringe movement, the the Miglavian wingnut branch of the GOP. So basically, I'm about as worried about the ELF's agenda being transformed into the reality of that commercial as I am that Daniel Miglavs will be elected the next governor of Oregon. You see, I live in the reality-based world. Things look ... different, here.

Anonymous said...

Again, daft.

Perhaps you need a reminder...

Recycling, the bottle bill, started out as a fringe movement. Did you know people in the Oregon legislature were offered bribes not to vote for the bottle bill? Recycling is now very mainstream you know.
Gay Marriage started as fringe movement. How many states have voted on this "fringe" movement?

The point is, it does not take very long before the fringe can become mainstream. Time, is all that is required.

Give those little eco nazi’s enough times...and we will have the green police.

In addition, yes, I know what NAZI means. They were socialists and believed in eugenics, like Margaret Sanger.

I was going to respond to the ignorance in this thread regarding the equation of Nazism with socialism, but instead of lecturing you, let me attempt a discussion and just ask you, Pinkie: Do you know how Hitler felt about socialists? More importantly, do you know why Hitler wanted his party's name to have "socialist" in it?

Unknown said...

SF Gate.

Throwing orange peels, coffee grounds and grease-stained pizza boxes in the trash will be against the law in San Francisco, and could even lead to a fine.

Unknown said...

Mail Online.

Families will be forced to name somebody to be in charge of their rubbish under a council's 'zero tolerance' approach to bin collections.

The named individual faces £100 fines and a criminal record if their household then puts the wrong rubbish in its wheelie bins, puts them out too soon, or puts them in the wrong place.

They will also be told to give officials a breakdown of everyone who lives in their home, together with intimate information including details of medical conditions.

Trouble is teabaggers have their heads too far up eachothers...to have any common sense or direction.

mmm...4;23 Socialist or progressive. Same crap new name. You can keep trying to repackage this "movement" from the left, however it is just that, repackaged bullshit.

Nazism, known officially in GERMAN as National Socialism or nationalsozialismus.
Also, National Socialist German Workers.

Among the key elements of the NAZI party were: collectivism, eugenics, anti parliamentarianism, racists. oh, and anti communism. NOT anti Socialism. Are you trying to imply that Hitler was against full government control? Put the bong down now and walk to the nearest treatment center.

When the rubber hits the road, YOU are just pissed off because this progressive movement has been discovered for what it really is. FORCED CHANGE.

The next time one of your friends expounds about how they personally keyed a Hummer...think wow. That is how Hitler would have handled that. NO free choices...forced choices. Sell this gas hog or we will key it and ruin it for you. Sound familiar? Oh, I bet is does.

Oh, and the next time some progressive praises the likes of Margaret Sanger...think wow. she would have forced Barrack Obama's momma to have an abortion. His skin is black. She would have thought him a lesser human. Do you Progressives even understand that? I doubt it, simply because I have watched Barrack himself sing her praises. What idiots you all are.

And again, this thread was about the idiots in the green movement and their wet dreams of having a green police. My posts were about how that could incrementally happen. Just like the Nazi's incrementally rounded up the Jews and sent them to the ovens. Learn your history...they did not just go straight to the camps. No, first they were forced to register, then gettos, then camps, then ovens. NO free choices, forced choices even for the Germans that tried to protect them.

Hi

I am new to this place. Lots of individuals have added so many good things here. Please accept my little contribution towards community. I would like to share some quick weight loss tips. If you need to know how to lose 10 pounds in a week, you are believably not seeing for a regular dieting and exercise plan. You can lose weight with a standard diet and exercise plan, However this involves a lot of time doing intensive cardio workouts and sticking to a strict diet. Here I will draft the right steps that I took to lose 10 pounds in just a week.

1. Keep Distance from all deep-fried foods for the week
2. Drink an 8oz glass of grapefruit with breakfast every day. (this speeds up your metabolism)
3. Consume limited portions (stop eating when you are full)
4. Rather than eating 3 big a meals a day, eat 5-6 small meals to keep your metabolism up and keep your body burning fat.
5. Do not eat anything after 9pm. Its good to eat before 9 P.M. so that our body gets proper time to burn calories before sleep.
6. Get plenty of sleep every night. Not getting adequate sleep causes been proved to be a leading factor to the body putting up excess fat.
7. Apply a body/colon clean for the 7 days. This will get rid of unnecessary fat stored just about the tummy area as well as cleanse your body of harmfull pollutants that cause you store fat and feel tired. Flush away excess pounds around the stomach area that otherwise would be hard to lose.
8. I reccomend you using Acai Berry Diet Pills. This one is proven to work, and you can get a free trial.
9. For those man's/womans who desire to burn fat quickly, avoid alcoholic beverage.
10. A low GI diet is an outstanding method of burning weight quickly.

Thanks!.!

Pinkie:

I am not a Democrat, a liberal, or a "leftist," or a progressive. I am a socialist. Let me tell you what that means: It means that I am totally opposed to the politics and program of the Democratic Party, the Green Party and the politics of what you call liberals, leftists and progressives. I oppose them. Can I possibly be any clearer? They are not fighting for what I believe in. They are, in fact, fighting against what I believe in, which is why I did not vote for Obama.

I will grant you this: You clearly have heard the words "Nazi" and "Hitler" before, you have a general sense that they were bad, and that "camps" were associated with both. Congratulations on enlightening us with this remarkable piece of historical analysis.

Beyond that, your breathtakingly stupid comments suggest that you don't know a goddamned thing about anything, which is why, given that I have a Masters degree in European history with a special emphasis on political parties in the Third Reich, your admonition that I need to learn my history gave me a good laugh tonight, for which I thank you.

929, I will match your degree with my own.

Good day. I win.

You win? Jesus, what are you, ten? Listen to me, little boy: The reason I'm not attempting to deal with your ludicrous comments is because I would be about as successful trying to explain how red is different from blue to a person who is color-blind. Even the dumbed-down version would fly in one ear and out the other. For starters: Have you read Adam Tooze? Tim Mason? Deutscher? Wilhelm Reich? Gerald Feldman? Do you even know who they are? Give me a straight answer, it's a simple question: Have you read them? Yes or no? Have you heard of them (without Googling them)? Yes or no?

But what the hell, I've got to ask, so I'll bite: What's your degree, and what's it in?

a socialist said...

I can't believe I'm returning to this again, but something hit me this morning that I had to check. Reading your post last night, Pinkie, something about it struck me as fishy, but I didn't realize until this morning what it was:

It hit me that someone as monumentally uninformed about German history as you clearly are would not, on your own, cite "anti parliamentarianism" as an ideological component of German National Socialism. So on a hunch, I checked something, and I was right, so let me just ask you, and if you have more integrity than you have brains, you'll give me a straight answer:

Did you have to consult any Wikipedia articles for your response? Like, the one for "Nazism," or "Nazi party"?

First Pinkie French is a 43 year old woman.

Second. The point I was making about environmentalists is incrementalism. Just like the Nazi's used incrementalism with their master plan of eugenics and world power. That was my point. Not to examine the ins and outs of Hitler's Socialist Nazi party.

INCREMENTALISM. If you want to stay on task then post, however, you are not allowed to change the subject.
Pinkie

a socialist said...

Pinkie:

Your point may very well have been an observation about incrementalism, but in the process of making it, you made a statement about a completely different topic that is absolutely false, equating socialism with Nazism.

By doing that, you are raising questions, whether you intended to or not, regarding ideology and political program -- the "ins and out," as you say, of the Nazi party, and that is what I challenged you on. I am not changing the subject, I am commenting on a subject that you raised.

Most tellingly, your unwillingness to respond directly to the very simple, yes/no questions I asked you last night and this morning is pretty much all the response I need. You may not have intended to answer me, but in fact, you pretty much did. And guess what? It happens to definitively settle the question of which one of us "won," and it ain't you.

Going green will not be optional in Cambridge, Mass., if the Cambridge Climate Congress has its way. It will be mandatory.

There will be congestion pricing to reduce car travel. Curbside parking will be eliminated. There will be a carbon tax "of some kind," not to mention taxes on plastic and paper bags. And the Massachusetts city, home of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will advocate vegetarianism and veganism, complete with "Meatless or Vegan Mondays."

The extensively researched and documented article concludes that your "argument may have considerable emotional appeal, but there is very little hard evidence behind it."

Oh, you want to know where to find the article?

Let's see ... oh, here's a link:

It's the cover story in latest issue of "American Conservative," which was founded by that flaming liberal, Patrick Buchanan.

Read it and weep, Miglavians. Read it and weep.
