Criminal deportations spike in Pacific Northwest
New federal data shows that deportations of illegal immigrants with criminal records from Alaska, Oregon, and Washington this past year spiked by nearly 40 percent, while overall removals dropped slightly.
...removals of people with criminal records went from more than 3,100 to nearly 4,500 - a jump of 39.7 percent.
ICE spokeswoman Lorie Dankers says the agency its putting its resources into what it sees as the bigger threat to public safety, and that is illegal immigrants with criminal records.
A burglar who hasn't been caught yet doesn't have a criminal record yet we would think that it was ridiculous if law enforcement didn't pay attention to it.
The illegal alien who is using a false or stolen social security number to take a job that he can't legally have is a criminal just the same. It's not as high profile as the guy bringing in the trunkload of meth but I'm guessing that the person whose identity was stolen and the other person who was turned down for that job would appreciate it if our government would enforce it's laws.

really what we need is comprehensive immigration reform that secures our borders and makes people come forward and be counted. u.s. corporations and the federal gov't encouraged these people to come here, it is now time for them to accept responsibiliy. our electeds need to do the right thing on this.
Anon 626, You are absolutely correct in what you have posted. However, getting our elected "representatives" to do anything substantive about the illegals, or anything else for the good of the country, is proving to be a lost cause. These people we laughingly call our "public servants" have turned themselves into our public masters. What they say goes and they will not put up with any criticism that goes against what they want to do. They have essentially told us to shut up and go lie down by our bowl. If they keep this up, in time there will be an uprising that could very easily make the French Revolution look like a Sunday School picnic. Next year and in 2012 it will be absolutely mandatory that there be very few incumbents left in Congress (and the White House) and all new faces there to get us back on track. If this is not done, then we, the people of the United States, deserve anything that this cabal of gangsters hands us, including, but not limited to, higher and higher taxes.

technically 100% of all illegal aliens are criminals, some just have not got caught yet to have a record.
Pass e-verify (make it mandatory for the whole us), no criminal aliens will be able to work, stop all resources to them, stop anchor baby citizenship and there will be a steady stream south quicker than you can blink an eye. As a result, our unemployment will drop to two or three percent overnight. After that, when we find somebody aiding and abetting criminal aliens, we deport them to mexico and build that damn wall.
It is certainly interesting for me to read this post. Thank author for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to them. I would like to read a bit more soon.
How does Daniel square his "once-a-criminal-always-a-criminal" perspective with his, um, personal situation? Could someone describe the mental somersaults and backflips with twists that you need to get there?

If illegal aliens wish to no longer be considered criminals, well the answer is very easy.
go home and come back through the front door.
