Anti-bullying, sex-ed bills become law
It prohibits bullying based on membership in a protected class, such as race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, familial status, source of income or disability.
Are you a favored class in Oregon? Will your kids get the special treatment? And if you are one of the preferred class, would you rather be judged by the content of your character?

It's not special treatment if it applies to everyone. Unless you know some poor soul going through life without a race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, familial status, or source of income.
But to hell with the disabled, I guess.
I won't type the cliched acronym for it, but I will admit that when Daniel starts talking about "the content of your character," I really do laugh out loud.
Hell, I'm a minority now. I'm a single white male. I want my fucking benefits right now. I want free food. I'm tired of going to work. I think the taxpayers can support me now.
So I'm now a criminal because I don't criminal aliens who are thieves, rapists, murderers and freeloaders. Our country has gone to hell. I think I'm in the last episode of the twilight zone.

The comments here demonstrate a fundamental misunderstanding of the term "protected class".
It does not refer to a group of people.
It is confusing, because when we hear "class" we think of middle class, working class, etc, but that isn't what it means as a legal term.
Protected class is a classification, such as religion, as it applies to anti-discrimination laws. So you cannot be legally discriminated against because of your religion, because religion is a protected class, or classification.
It isn't any particular religion that is protected. Race is a protected class, or classification, but no particular race is protected over any other.
There is plenty of confusion about this issue, and when Bobkatt said, "The very thought that there are 'protected classes' of people is an assault to the constitutional mandate that all men are created equal", he is correct, in that we are all afforded equal protection under the law, but I think he misunderstands what a protected class is. It is not a class of people.
If anti-discrimination laws protected only certain groups, they would be unconstitutional.
This is why it is so disingenuous to say that gay people want "special rights". The law applies to sexual orientation, not any PARTICULAR sexual orientation.
Maybe we wouldn't need anti-bullying laws and such if the Oregon legislature passed a bill outlawing hate groups like the minutemen and right-to-life and talk show hosts who incite violence against people they hate. How about that?

If you actually read the "Domestic Partner" law you would see that it IS only for the GAY sexual orientation perverts. Yes it IS "special" rights. (example-2 sisters and not gay living together do NOT qualify)

You are seriously confused. This post was about Oregon HB 2599, which is not about domestic partners. You go on to rant about Bill O'Reilly, guaranteed happiness, dicks, etc. Go back and read what I was commenting on.
By the way, the newspaper article got it wrong, when it said "membership" in a protected class. The House Bill says nothing of the kind. It defines protected class as race, religon, etc, not any PARTICULAR race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
So basically, 4:43, you believe we've reached the point where you would prefer that Americans use violence, death and destruction to solve problems because civil debate and discussion ain't working out for you? This is an interesting philosophy, I'm curious: What do you call it?

Anon 922: 4:43 did not say he is advocating the violence and destruction that is coming. His comment was a prediction of things to come, not that he advocated it. There is a big difference.
I have to agree with 4:43 here. The people of th e U.S. are going to get tired of the continuing destructionj of the country by our elected "leaders" and are going ito stage an uprising that COULD make the Civil War of the 1860' look like a Sunday School picnic. Don' know when, only that it very likely will happen.
