Hispanic DOES NOT EQUAL illegal

Hispanic council aids cultural integration
The growing Hispanic community on Oregon's north coast and the well-entrenched Anglos are getting pointers in cultural differences intended to help each understand the other better.

For example In Mexico, many arrive late for a doctor's appointment, firm in the knowledge that they would just have to wait if they didn't.

That doesn't work here.

"It's just not knowing these little cultural things," said Norma Hernandez of the Lower Columbia Hispanic Council.

Before I go on with the news article let's look at who the Lower Columbia Hispanic Council is:
Deductibility Status - Contributions are deductible

Foundation Type - Organization which receives a substantial part of its support from a governmental unit or the general public

So moving forward we are now aware that this racist group is gets most of their money from the taxpayers whether directly from government or through tax deductability.

It operates programs providing cheap car loans, migrant programs, immigration attorneys and contact with the Mexican Consulate.

Stop again. Loans are supposed to be given without consideration of race, nationality or country of origin. This group redlines everyone but hispanics.

The community lives frugally, she said, with many fearing deportation and the subsequent loss of their savings.

This is another article that treats all hispanics like they are illegal aliens. It is insulting to lump my wife into the same "community" as criminal aliens. The "hispanic council" is really the "illegal alien" council as they could care less about American citizens who obviously don't need contact with the Mexican consulate or fear deportation. This garbage infuriates me to no end.

Imagine how many racist groups like this will be funded with your tax dollars to help all our newly legal residents if an amnesty goes through. It will bankrupt this country.

Bitch, please!

Immigrant groups have set up coethnic aid organizations to help one another get a leg up and adjust to life in a new country for eons.

The Germans and the Irish did it in the 1840s, the Italians, Eastern European Jews, Polish etc. did it in the late 1800s early 1900s, and now the Mexicans, and all other immigrant groups of the present era do it.

These groups are designed to help people incorporate into our society, not to prevent incorporation. I fully support them.

The only entity coming off as racist here is, surprise surprise, YOU.

That what it is Anon 7:11, if this was some white aryan race, Daniel would ignore it. But because it is helping "brown" folks it is all bad.

I have to say, I am really glad Miglavs posts this stuff as it reflects very poorly on his pals at Oregonians for (no) Immigration Reform, FAIR the hategroup, and the Minuteklan Projekt. These guys try to mask their racism but fail every time.

Well Daniel, I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I read the article, the entire article. Then I read it again, slowly and all the way to the end.

If you have taken the time to review Census data and other legitimate statistics (i.e, not numbers that have been cooked by Lou Dobbs or Americans for Immigration Reform), you would know that even without the 'illegal aliens' that keep you awake at night in a cold sweat, the Hispanic/Latino population in this country is increasing anyway. Caucasians will constitute a minority in this country in another 15-20 years anyway. And let me just say, as a white "legal" American, that that doesn't bother me a bit.

The article, contrary to your painfully obvious lie, a lie that any decent human being would be embarrassed about and ashamed of, does not "treat all hispanics like they are illegal aliens." What we have here, yet again, is another example of YOU reading an article about Hispanics and assuming that they are all "illegal aliens." Another example of you pointing to a Hispanic organization and assuming that it's all about the illegal alien boogeyman.

Take your "infuriation" and shove it up your bigot ass.

You 3 clowns are conveniently forgetting and/or ignoring one important thing that Anon 7:11 said: The Germans, Irish European Jews, Polish, etc. who came here to this country in the mid 1800s LEGALLY. A great many, not all, of the Mexicans here, came here illegally, sneaking in across the border in California, Arizona, and New Mexico. You guys do not understand the word "illegal". Those who are here illegally do NOT rate any "free" services (free to them, not to the American taxpayers) from any government entity.

Now you need to tell us that, when and if, one of those illegals, Mexican or otherwise, comes into your house in the middle of the night to rob, rape, or kill you and your family, will you invite them on in and offer them a coffee before they do what they had in mind? I'll bet you would.

ANON 8:04 AM
I can't wait till the white people are a minority. Then we can get all the affirmative action. We will get free food, health care and all sorts of other benefits. I hope the minorities will be productive enough to support us. We will be able to sit at home and knock out babies and cry about how the new racists are not giving us enough and we are disadvantaged. I'm hoping they will supply my beer too. I like some hard liquor on weekends and hope they will allow me fine whiskey and vodka. I don't like to drink crappy booze or beer. Will I be able to buy a foreign SUV to tote all my kids around. I don't think the new G(overnment)M(otors) vehicles will be top quality and I want top quality.

Scottiebill is correct... the key word here, is ILLEGAL.

And I have to agree with Daniel... I have friends who are Hispanic, who took the time, money and effort to come to the United States through the front door and to assimilate into this country.

It really ticks me off to no end that my friends get lumped in and treated at times like they are illegal. That is an insult to them for doing the right thing.

what the illegals have done is wrong no matter the reason. People supporting them and taking advantage of them is wrong.

If we did not have a method for immigration into this country legally, then I might be more sympathetic. However, the situation has gotten out of hand and it is really nobody's fault but our own for hiring and encouraging people to break the law.

Do the math…

Here is an example of why hiring illegal aliens is not economically productive for the State ...You have 2 families..."Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California . "Joe Legal" works in construction, has a Social Security Number, and makes $25.00 per hour with payroll taxes deducted....
"Jose Illegal" also works in construction, has "NO" Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Joe Legal...$25.00 per hour x 40 hours $1000.00 per week, $52,000 per year

Now take 30% away for state federal tax

Joe Legal now has $31,231.00

Jose Illegal...$15.00 per hour x 40 hours $600.00 per week, $31,200.00

per year

Jose Illegal pays no taxes...

Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00

Joe Legal pays Medical and Dental Insurance with limited coverage

$1000.00 per month

$12,000.00 per year

Joe Legal now has $19,231.00

Jose Illegal has full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year

Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00

Joe Legal makes too much money is not eligible for Food Stamps or welfare

Joe Legal pays for food

$1,000.00 per month

$12,000.00 per year

Joe Legal now has $ 7,231.00

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare

Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00

Joe Legal pays rent

$1,000.00 per month

$12,000.00 per year

Joe Legal is now in the hole

minus (-) $4,769.00

Jose Illegal receives a $500 per month Federal rent subsidy

Jose Illegal pays rent

$500.00 per month (section 8 housing)

$6,000.00 per year

Jose Illegal still has $25,200.00

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family (and eat out!).

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored breakfast & lunch, and they also qualify to be "bused to school" at tax payer expense.

Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children have to find a way to get to school and go home after school as, "latch-key kids" with no adult supervision.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Jose Illegal can send most of his money back home to build a new home for retirement, and have money to buy a new truck (and still have Medi-Cal benefits while living in a foreign country; until someone turns him in to authorities....if they ever find out!!)
Joe will be lucky if he has any money for retirement, a new vehicle, medical/dental benefits, or a place to live.

I have done the math, all you have to do is to look at it yourself.
Don't hire illegal aliens.....Don't vote for any politician that supports illegal aliens....And most important of all, write your politicians and let them know how you feel

PS: You forgot, Jose illegal's wife claims "single, no head of Household" and collects additional benefits that Joe legal's wife cannot claim.

No wonder our country is in trouble!! Think about it!
I am for giving help----but not in this way.

"Hispanic DOES NOT EQUAL illegal"

That's what I keep telling you Miglavs, to no avail.

Anonymous said...

You stupid IDIOTS are missing the real point here, the other Legal immigrants got NO HELP from the government decades ago, they got very little "help" from Churches and Families, taxpayer free.
They were PROUD to make it here on their own, not LEACHES as the illegals are.

These ILLEGAL Aliens (yes Pew & U S Census says) mostly from Mexico, are Nothing but a GOLD MINE for our government Unions/Mafia to keep their economy destroying not needed jobs!

In California it would equal thousands, but even here in Oregon-HUNDREDs of government tax payer sucking Jobs would be gone IF Immigration laws were actually enforced. Including this group as Harboring, Encouraging, Supporting any ILLEGAL Alien is a Federal Crime!

Well, my two cents: I think people should be able to live where they want to live, without having to ask THE GOVERNMENT for "permission." That is the true conservative perspective.

Bobkatt said...

anon 9:34- excellent post. However, you are wasting your time injecting logic and thought into this discussion. Rather than challenge your comment all you will get from these racist illegal lovers are "Hispanic DOES NOT EQUAL illegal" and a half assed attempt to define true conservative perspectives. These few people seem unable or unwilling to see past the initial phase of their passion. Unable to see the consequences of unlimited immigration, the economic, environmental and social destruction, or don't care.

No Robin y Scottie-shill, the word here is "RACIST". You people inject Racism, weather subtle or overt into all of your arguements. If it was Europeans in the country "illegally" you would be working some other obscure issue. Instead, because it is "brown" people like "Truth" said, this is your issue. You all need to find a new hobby, as your hatred and demonization of Hispanics and Latinos is hurting the GOP. I guess maybe you hate yourselves so much that you need to self reflect on others or something. Time to Moveon.stfu and get a life.

Anonymous said...

Even the not really R Gov. of CA. admitted today that illegals cost only $4 Billion/yr. there!

Anonymous said...

Anon 5:00, I don't think it is as much that they are Brown, as more likely that they come from Horrible, Lawless, Filthy Turd World Shitholes and thier "Culture", ie. babies at 12, hand for wiping the ass, glass and bricks all over the streets, piss in the streets here and home, Drug Lords are honored there, etc., that bother most of us for a damn good reason.

Now yes some Europeans do not Bathe or shave regularly but overall have a much higher standard of living and Education than in Mexico or C. amerika.

LEGAL immigrants have to assimilate, thats the law for a good reason, illegals do NOT need to nor have to, and that IS the problem.

I watched a Seattle Mariners game last night on TV for a minute then changed the channel, because this American Baseball team playing America's greatest pastime was wearing Jerseys in SPANISH!

That is not Racism on my part, it is a disgrace to OUR culture and traditions. And my Son who is being looked at right now for the Pro's will NEVER play for Seattle, EVER!

The only thing I learned from this rant was that, like every other right-winger I've ever encountered, Daniel doesn't seem to know the difference between the incorrect phrase "could care less" and the correct phrase "COULDN'T care less". (couldn't = could not)

Hey wackos...when you declare your right-wingedness to the powers that be, do they first quiz you to make sure that you will always and forever use the incorrect phrase "could care less" when you mean to say "couldn't care less"?

It's the damnest thing, that I've never encountered a right-winger capable of using this phrase correctly. What's up with that? Stupidity? Ignorance? Carelessness? Typical right-wing intellectual laziness? All of the above?

Actually, Anon 12:04 has provided the only TRUE “conservative”, “free market” perspective on the entire matter of immigration.

If you faux-conservatives truly believed in “free markets”, you’d have to accept that there is a “free market” for labor too. And if that “free market” is operating efficiently like it should, it will rightfully ignore the artificial government barrier that most people call a “border”.

But nah. Most of you “conservatives” on here are Pat Buchanan conservatives instead of true conservatives. That is to say, you proudly declare your conservatism only until it starts creating ideological inconsistencies for you left and right. Because most people who claim to be anti-illegal immigration, will also be the first people to say that they believe in free markets, and that the government should not meddle in the market. But they don’t really mean it. They most certainly want government to meddle in the market, to limit and stifle competition in the labor market by sending “illegal” labor home. As if there is such a thing as “illegal” labor in free market theory!

Bottom line: There is a market demand for cheap, “illegal” labor. And since the “free market” is by definition always right, then our illegal immigrant “problem” is in fact just a logical, efficient output of what conservatives have been championing and demanding for three decades.

In other words, you conservatives are your own worst enemies. Your ideological inconsistencies and the logical circles you keep running around in are a hoot to watch. It’s like I’m at the circus everyday! And there is no shortage of ass-clowns like Daniel to watch!

Daniel said...

Anon 6:07 It's all of the above... plus I'm ugly and smell bad.

You win.

Anonymous said...

Interesting how a number of people have raised some serious, legitimate points -- the question of free markets, the issue of what constitutes genuine conservatism, and the point that the article that prompted the post in the first place does not even mention illegal immigration ...

And isn't it curious that Daniel, given the opportunity, refuses to address any of them, instead choosing to lob a half-assed response to the least relevant (although true) observation about "couldn't care less" versus "could care less."

You say so little, Daniel, but your silence speaks volumes.

Anonymous said...

Have you ever considered actually ENGAGING in a discussion related to what YOU post in the first place and to which others respond?

Do you lack the intellecutal ability to simply carry on a debate?

What is the intention of your "blog"? To post incendiary stuff and then sit back and watch the carnage? I can only assume this to be the case because you NEVER engage in dialogue. And if that is true, that you post for the attention and to incite some sort of shit-throwing contest, then you are one warped individual.

It seems like if you took the time to submit the original post about the shit you post about, that you would have some sort of opinion about it (obviously), and therefore rationale to back up your opinion. Right?

Yet, despite this being you're the most infrequent poster here.

Man up, pussy!

LEGAL immigrants have to assimilate, thats the law...

Anon 5:11, you hardly have a grasp on reality let alone the "law".

There is no law that immigrants have to assimilate. That is some BS the Michael Savagesque racist xenophobe came up with.

As to "YOUR culture" and "YOUR traditions", what are those? Armour Hotdogs, muddin', bombing civilians and torture? Get on out of here with that "our culture and traditions" garbage. You right-wing pukes talk all day about culture but you have none, and your traditions consist of denying people civil rights and dignity while promote a atmosphere of hate for everyone but those that wear a phony American flag pin on their lapel and pray to some graven ancient icon of torture. Take your culture and traditions and stick 'em.

What you and the rest of your neandrathal pals need to come to terms with is the latino population is growing by leaps and bounds in the United States. They are not leaving. For centuries, immigrants have been coming to the United States. That is why it is known as a "melting pot". How ever you feel about that, I really don't care. Truth is people hold on to their culture regardless of where they are from and that is a good thing. It is a reality and YOU need to get real and come to terms with it.

They may also have other needs that you need to attend to. Remember, you think people should be able to live where they want to live without having the government's permission. You need to stand up for your principles.

Scottiebill said...

Anon 5:00: I probably did not make myself perfectly clear in my posting about the illegals. While I did say that the illegal Mexicans come here by sneaking across the borders of the three states mentioned, I probably should have included that no illegals, regardless of where they are from, whether it is Mexico, Canada, Ireland, wherever, do NOT rate any of the free, to them only, services etc. If you are so dense that you can't understand that without it being said specifically, then maybe you should sneak back into the country from whence you came. But then, some things need to be spelled out exactly to some people, otherwise they intentionally and conveniently misconstrue the meaning for their own petty argument. Also, for some of these people, we probably should limit our postings to one syllable words to make them easier to understand.

As to the other anonymouses that are posting here that slam Daniel every chance they get for whatever reason they can think of as long as it goes against whatever Daniel writes, they really need to get a life. The ONLY reason they stay with Daniel's blogspot is so that they have someone to rant and rave against, anonymously, as it were. But, I would rather believe that they just get their rocks off in slamming anyone and everyone who does not think as they do.

9:46, 12:04 here: I did not mean that a person should be able to move into someone else's HOUSE, and if that's what you think I meant, then you're an idiot. My point is: If I decided to pack up and move to Japan, or France, or Bolivia, I don't think I should have to ASK THE GOVERNMENT, the prospect of which Daniel, as a "conservative," finds inherently repugnant, for their permission to do so. This view obviously does not mean that a complete stranger should be able to walk into someone's home with their furniture and belongings and live there, although in hindsight, I guess it isn't obvious, since I needed to explain it to your stupid fucking ass.

You really are a fucktard. You give an example that has nothing to do with the situation. Illegals come here illegally, take advantage of free health care, free education, free food, etc. If you like it so much then you take them in your house and feed and care for them.
You "think you should be able to pack up and move to another country without asking the government". Well try it. You wouldn't get out of the airport. All successful civilized countries have borders and immigration laws and they enforce them.

No appeal, no bleeding-heart liberals protesting on their behalf, no day in court. Just a fond farewell in the form of "Get the hell out and don't come back." Too bad we don't have that here.
