Why not get quotes from local criminals regarding arrests?

Israel pounds Gaza for second day
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum urged Palestinian groups to use "all available means, including martyrdom operations" -- a reference to suicide bombings in Israel -- to "protect the Palestinian people."

"Palestine has never seen an uglier massacre," Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said.

Hamas, which won a parliamentary election in 2006 but was shunned by the West over its refusal to renounce violence and recognize Israel, estimated at least 180 members of its security forces had been killed with at least 15 women and some children.

How many times can a terrorist organization be quoted in a single news article? And they are taken seriously. These are the people who blow themselves up at shopping centers. I keep hearing on the news that people are asking Israel to "avoid civilian casualities" when Hamas' tactic is to target civilians.

Let's hope that Obama will encourage Israel to defend herself from these animals.

That's funny ... I don't recall Daniel objecting to his fellow Miglavians when they talk about shooting American liberals -- i.e., civilians.

Anon 1022: You really ought to get some badly needed therapy to try to get over your unnatural obsession over Daniel's past. His past has absolutely nothing to do with the Hamas using kids as weapons against Israelis. It porbably does in your narrow mind, though.

To the subject at hand: Palestine and their Hamas buddies consistently send suicide bombers into Israel to kill as many as possible. How many times has Israel used a suicide bomber to kill Palestinians? NONE! And if the cowards shown in the picture Daniel posted had any guts, they would do two things. One, they would show their faces. And two, they would strap on a bomb themselves instead of putting one on a little kid.

And, Anon 1022, why don't you go over there and volunteer your services to Hamas? I bet they would welcome you with open arms.

Just wondering.

Why is anyone who offers honest criticism and differences of opinion with Miglavs automatically assumed to be a supporter of whatever Daniel is criticizing himself? Jesus! The killing of civilians by ANYONE in ANY military conflict ANYWHERE at ANY time is wrong, appalling and disgusting. I say that freely and honestly and without exception. My point is that Daniel cannot say that and be taken seriously, because his blog has turned into a sort of defacto watering hole for lunatic reactionaries who drool at the prospect of shooting people whose only offense is that they have a different political point of view and Daniel has NEVER objected to that. So now we're supposed to take his supposed concern for civilians in the Middle East seriously? Give me a fucking break already.

We should keep calling them animals. I bet that will get them to stop doing what they do.

The point of Miglavs' headline/quote is ludicrous: He is basically suggesting that there is some natural equiviliant or logical comparison to be made between an individual whose "crime" amounts to crossing the U.S.-Mexican border illegally, and suicide bombers in Gaza.

As always, Miglavs' moral universe is a never-ending house of mirrors in bizarro-land. Tomorrow's lesson: Why a person who steals a bottle of aspirin is no different than a serial killer.

I can only imagine how much better off we as a country might be if we would have heeded the advise of our founding fathers. Jefferson:"Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations-entangling alliances with none." Washington:"Act for ourselves and not for others, by forming an American character wholly free of foreign attachments."
