Dems really care about workers

Urge the Senate to Extend E-Verify
Last week the Department of Labor issued a grim report on the state of jobs in America. More than 500,000 Americans lost their job in November and more than 2 million so far in 2008. In response, House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Lamar Smith (R-Texas) issued a statement urging the Senate to pass a long-term extension of E-Verify. Take action now by calling and/or faxing your Senator and asking them to add an amendment to the auto industry bailout to attach H.R. 6633.

Just yesterday I went to a local fast food restraunt and they had the "this employer participates in E-Verify" sign on their door. That's a restraunt where your kids or my kids would have a chance at employment.

E-Verify is a voluntary program that allows employers to make sure they are only hiring LEGAL WORKERS.

Next year we will have a congress that won't care about American jobs being stolen, make those phone calls/faxes/emails today!!

In reading the fishwrapper yesterday - I was on the can - I see that our people loving governor is planning on raising the taxes - ok fees/licenses/registrations - on the working classes.

300% in some cases.

On Victoria's program a couple of weeks ago, I heard one of her callers refer to Ol' Teddy the Useless as "Brain-dead Ted". It is fitting, wouldn't you say?

Who was the "employer that participates in E-Verify" and had a sign on their door?

Daniel- thanks for the reminder.
Do you have any way of keeping a list of those businesses that you run into that have the E-verify sign so we can frequent those businesses?
I live in Eugene and will look for those signs and keep track. It seems like with all the posters on this blog that are from different areas maybe we could come up with a valuable list. With money getting tighter and tighter it would be great to know that the businesses we support are employing only legal fellow Americans don't you think?
Buy American.
Buy Local.
Keep the money working in your local area.

Scottiebill -- I seem to remember that you don't have too much patience with name-callers when they come from the left. You assert that name-calling is the resort of those with nothing cogent or substantive to say. Yet, here you are encouraging name-calling if it comes from the right. Please explain this inconsistency. Thanks

Daniel, I notice you list Jesus as one of your interests. You are aware, of course, that Jesus was an illegal alien by virtue of his extensive travels without proper papers or identification.

8:30 another left-wing nut hitting this forum. Moron.

Anon 8:30 PM
Would you please post the laws of those countries involved at that time?

Anon 201: Are you implying that Teddy is not useless as a governor or that, judging by a lot of his decisions and statements, he is not brain dead? Or is it just another overt slap at my opinions?

Just asking.

In that case, Scottie, you're a dumbass.

Scottie -- It's pretty straight forward Scottie. You're dodging the question.

On a very recent thread you wrote that liberals call names because they don't have anything cogent or substantive to say.

Then, almost on a dime, you contradict your pontifications by refering to Victoria Taft's name calling in an admiring fashion.

Don't dodge the question Scottie. Address your inconsistencies. Why is name calling "fitting" when it comes from the right, and "hating" when it comes from the left?

Point of interest. Anon pointing out the hypocrisy of Scottie when the only way of determining that point is because he posts under one user name. All the while anon protects himself from the same accusation by posting anonymous. Scottie, or I for that matter may also be posting anonymously, who would know but maybe Daniel?
Also, there seems to be a bit of difference between denigrating a public figure and someone who you are ostensibly having a conversation with. Or are you upset about the hundreds of attacks thrown at Sara Palin recently?

There is no way I could have said it better than you did, Bobkatt.

And I don't think anon is upset at all about the attacks against Sarah Palin. I would rather think think that he is upset that the attacks against Palin have dwindled down a lot.

Well, it seems the conclusion is this: We should all feel free call Scottie Scottieshrill or Scottieshill. Knowing that Scottiebill doesn't REALLY think name calling is bad afterall, especially when it's "fitting," then I suppose he won't make such a fuss anymore.

OMG Bobkatt!!! Palin's been "attacked?" You don't think it's the same people who attacked Obama, do you?
