Free speech only if they agree with you

Speaks for itself.

I think the students reaction is based on a couple of factors,

1) the brainwashing that they receive in our schools

2) what the students are seeing and experiencing firsthand

By that I mean, the students are directly intermixed with the children of illegal aliens who were brought here against their will by irresponsible parents and are now forced into an uncertain future.

I am in no way condoning the violent response from the students... mob rule never works... however, I am sympathetic to those children of illegal aliens who know of no other country then the United States.

Personally, these parents should be held fully responsible for making a conscious decision to enter the United States illegally, fully knowing the consequences of their actions to both themselves and their families.

If it was ANY OTHER issue other than immigration, those parents would be charged with child abuse.

I think someone in the audience pegged it "Tancredo represents racist white males".

An individual "announced" that I was a "racist" the other day. I advised that person to fall on their knees and thank God that I wasn't a "racist." If I were, I said, they would be laying in a pool of their own blood. Food for thought, lefties.

Bear, you are an idiot. I always wonder about cowards who talk crap on the internet. Now go read your first favorite book and repent.

Columbia University revisited.
Please check with local students before exercising your free speech rights. We cannot be responsible for violence or disruption for those who do not observe our right to limit your free speech. Thank you for your cooperation.

Yet you display "If I disagree with you it's because you are wrong." You're starting to sink to their level, Daniel. Just saying.

As the offspring of an Hispanic grandparent, and the grandfather of several half-white grandchildren, I seriously doubt that I could be labelled "Racist," save by the most ignorant.
Illegal border crossing is just that: illegal. Failure to pay taxes is illegal. Speeding is illegal. Drunk driving is illegal.
Grow up, people: suppoorting American law is not a racial issue.

Mike-Isn't that the premise of all arguments? I mean if you think someone is correct then why challenge them?

The issue is in the style, not the substance. If you're framing your argument in a way that says "I'm right, you're wrong, and I will never change my mind or even take your point of view seriously," one questions the purpose of talking at all.

Kaelri- Maybe that's the difference between you and me? While I have often commented on the eloquence of your style of argument, I can't recall it ever changing my mind. However, an argument with the proper facts and references might sway me even if delivered by a raving troll.
Actually, who comes to these blog postings with the real expectation of changing someone else's mind? They almost always end up with personal attacks and innuendos anyway due to the fact that one persons right to free speech don't guarantee that another person wants to hear it. When that free speech doesn't garner them the response that they want they most often resort to physical interruption or violence which was exactly what happened at the University.

anon 11:06, how better to prove my opposition to racism than by allowing a lefty fool to continue living? Your dull and programmed response helps make my point.

Rule #1 when dealing with libs: Never expect plain English to go misinterpreted.

Wow, there certainly are some psychotic people posting on the internet.
