Sellouts to the man

I'm stunned. The Indymedia boys, who are such progressive free thinkers, have adopted a conformist dress code:

For many of us wishing to support Briana in her trial, what we think of as "appropriate dress" for court is going to be a bit different than what her jury will think of as normal.

Are you sure? Having enough metal in your face to construct a fighter jet isn't normal?

IT IS ESSENTIAL, that if you want to support Briana, to show up in the most mainstream type of clothes you can find. Do NOT wear black. No Patches. Piercings other than earrings should be taken out. Guys: If your scruffy, now is a great time to shave...

What's next Indy boys? Are you going to put on a tie and go work for Big Oil? How dare you stifle your members creative dress you facist pigs.

It sure is nice that groups I belong to never have to send out notices saying "don't be yourself when appearing in public."

These anti-American thugs deserve to be put away. Their whole lives are a lie. They are parasites, and work to destroy the very freedoms that allow them to exist.

There is a reason why arson and making bombs carry such heavy jail time. These terrorist activities can, and do, get firefighters and others killed. These wack-job "greenies" care nothing for their fellow citizens, and only for their commie propaganda.

They try to "game" the legal system, while availing themselves of its protections. These terrorist hypocrites are inexplicably not proud of their "accomplishments" or methods. Why don't they stand up and proclaim themselves as the leaders of utopia? It's due to the moral and intellectual vacuum their beliefs represent. It's because they are cowards.

Yeah, it's really cool that the OFIR gang knows that when they're in public with their anti-immigrant signs, they need to cool it with the openly bigoted bile they're accustomed to spewing over beers in private. Guys like Bruce the Barber, for example, know instinctively that if they're out there representing a respectable organization like OFIR, they probably shouldn't be talking about Mexicans the way they do behind closed doors. Of course, Bruce might not be the best example ... he cut loose with his bigoted bile on more than one occasion right here at the very public Daniel's Political Musings (Mexican jokes anyone? They're really funny!) and the most Miglavs could manage as a principled response (him being a principled sort of guy) was to advise 'ol Bruce that he wasn't "being helpful." ;-) Yep, it's nice to see that the OFIR gang has its shit together!

Bear, good to see you! I always love the way you mold and twist whatever "argument" you have into the statement that the targets of your idiocy are "anti-American." Slip on the soap and crack your ass-bone in the shower, and I'll bet your first response is to blame the anti-Americans! It must be so, so easy to be you.

As Chauncey Gardner would tell us, if you don't dispose of your garbage the whole house will start to stink.

You've got to hand it to Miglavs: If he can't find a news clip about a Mexican who wound up being the lead perp mug on the evening news (providing rock-solid evidence that ALL Mexicans represent a Threat to Society) you can count on him to insult someone for something: Shaving your stubble and putting on some nice clothes. Those fucking bastards!

Built in to Miglavs idiotic post is the fascistic conception of Guilty-Until-Proven-Innocent: Briana Waters gal MUST be guilty, and thus anyone who displays a show of support for her is (pay close attention and see if you can follow this Miglavian logic) a fascist. LOL!!!

Yeah, and the groups you belong to are such fine dressers. What kind of members or a president of a group testifies before the legislature in a flannel shirt and jeans. Maybe your "groups" should send out an email because looking like you just fell off a turnip truck doesn't pass for respectable dress.

Briana Waters is a devoted, loving mother and partner, a dedicated musician and violin teacher, and a caring friend to many. It has come as quite a shock to everyone who knows her that she has been wrongly accused of participating in a politically motivated arson at the University of Washington. These charges carry a draconian mandatory minimum sentence of 35 years in prison should she be convicted. Briana pled not guilty to the charges, first brought on March 15, 2006, and was released pending trial.

BTW, anonymice: every time I've seen Daniel at an event, he has been impeccably dressed, respectful, and engaging. More, as it happens, than can be said for you.

This is one of the most BARF INDUCING statements of late Danny.

You spend every spare moment in sanctimonious bellering about how an entire cross section of America (Hispanic citizens) aren't "assimilating." You don't want them to play their music, speak their language, or fly the Mexican flag. You don't want them to assemble in parks, display handmade signs over their tiendas, or gather for a potluck in a public school. You insist that in order to be a "good," assimilated American, one must completely exorcise any remnants of a culture they left behind. You've said as much in this blog.

How nice for you that you get to "come as you are," (ROTFLMAO). So sad you are completely unwilling and unable to grant the same grace to others.

By the way, none of you OFIR's come as you are (not really). Anon 857 hit the nail on the head. You save the "real you" for this blog and your "gatherings" where the racist jokes and vulgarities flow from a bottomless urn.

How did you dress at your Supreme Court hearing. How did you dress at your trial? Did you wear your
gang regalia?

Your hypocrisy is breathtaking, per usual.

They're encouraging each other to dress like adults in court. So what's the problem? You'd bitch if they didn't dress like adults, so obviously, there's no way to win with you, is there? Fucked if you do, and fucked if you don't. Welcome to Miglavia. Sanctimonious asshole. Get a life already.

Nothing like a group of crackers dressed up like scumbag methcook bikers to put the finishing touches on the anti-immigrant group Daniel belongs to.

Sell-out to the man? I wouldn't be so quick to judge, Mr. Miglavs, as much as I know you relish that role. (Do you wear black robes around the house, I wonder?) I suspect that November will find you in the booth pulling the lever for John McCain, so let's revisit the issue of "selling out" then, shall we?

Well, you lefty trolls did a great job of esplainin' the pro-American aspects of arson, bomb making, and working to bring this country to it's knees economically and politically. You must be so proud. Speaking of which, why DON'T the criminals on trial proudly repeat the aims they espouse in their "communiques?" Thought so.

Anonymous said...

In other words: Guilty until proven innocent.

In other words: Like Miglavs, Mr. Bear is a fascist pig, and one need not be an arsonist, bomb-maker, anti-American or "lefty troll," to say so. Imagine Bear or Miglavs in colonial America ... they would have lined up all those guys who (illegally) dumped tea in Boston Harbor and had them shot. Lawbreakers, you know. No respect for the crown.

You can't get much more un-American than these "guilty until proven innocent" righty-whities.

Anonymous said...

By all means, don't forget your Communist flags and your Che t-shirts.

Anonymous said...

In Miglavia, Guilty-Until-Proven-Innocent is pro-American. Innocent-Until-Proven-Guilty is anti-American. Understand?

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Daniel encouraged his fellow gang members to wear their gang colors when he had his day in court.

If not, he's just a sellout to the man, by his logic.

Anonymous said...

Since when have Daniel's posts been rooted in logic?

Anonymous said...

Trolls? Hey Bear, you are the troll as the majority of opinions is that the anti-immigrant bozos that turn up for public events, be they hearings, rallies or cross burnings, can't seem to find anything from their ragbags that separates them from the street hobos and respectable citizens. In fact, I see street hobos looking better that they whole lot o' ya that show up in your Sunday's best. Sad really.

this post sucks!

Danny, i thought these were supposed to be your political "musings"; not your frothing mindless hatred bubbling over into something resembling English. Furthermore, whenever you "muse" on politics, and someone "muses" in opposition, you never "muse" back. So what's the fucking point?

Anonymous said...

The point is Daniel Miglavs. He is the point. He gets off on his silly posts, he gets off on the fact that people respond and call him names, and then he finally shoots his wad and giggles like a little girl over the fact that idiots like Bear and DeLucca defend him. It's not about having a discussion. It's not even about being "right." It's about Daniel Miglavs sitting at his computer, marveling over the fact that anyone thinks he's important enough to merit any attention whatsoever ... even if it's only to point out that he's an asshole. Daniel's worst nightmare, contrary to what anyone might think, is not the prospect of amnesty, or an all Democratic Congress, a liberal Supreme Court and Clinton in the White House. His worst nightmare is that people stop paying attention Daniel Miglavs and stop posting on his silly blog.

That's the point.

Wow. Such enlightened discourse from the progressives.

Yet interestingly, there is a defense of wearing respectable clothing in court, taking out piercings, and not wearing black, etc.

I thought that is in contrast to all the defense of free expression and being counterculture. I mean, why not go in there and CELEBRATE that black lipstick and a face that looks like an electromagnet in a tack factory? I thought that was the enlightened expression that helps one rage against the machine. Go! Rage!

And wow. Comparing burning down a school building with the Boston Tea Party? Priceless!

Ah yes, so then: Innocent until proven guilty for some crimes, but not all crimes. Who decides which crimes "guilty until proven innocdent" will apply to? That was my point. For someone who went through the court-system, Daniel either does not understand how the criminal justice system in this country is supposed to work, or he doesn't give a shit. I suspect it's a bit of both. "Innocent until proven guilty" is a non-negotiable in a democracy. Daniel Miglavs, as always, is highly selective about how to apply such principles, when to emphasize some over others, etc.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, and maybe your last post might seem intelligent, if Daniel had actually said anything in his post about her supposed guilt.

He was speaking of the irony and hypocrisy of people who often dress in a way that is intended to be a protest rooted in principle eschewing those principles to try to look...well..."normal."

The reason being to not let on that the people who are supporting her (and likely her as well, I dont know her) are exactly the type of people you would think of if you were to think in your mind of the stereotypical "person who burns down schools for political causes like this."

The point was, if it really is principled, and not just because you think pechouli is a good substitute for soap and deodorant, one should march proudly into court, unshorn, besmudged in black, and adorned like a Christmas (sorry..solstice) tree.

Dont bow to the man in the black robe!

I stand corrected ... my comment was directed regarding Bear's statement. Judge, jury and executioner.
