Taxpayercare: providing taxi service

Program # 40026 - La Clinica de la Buena Salud
Executive Summary
La Clinica de Buena Salud (The Clinic of Good Health), provides comprehensive primary care and behavioral health services to the diverse, poor, underserved residents in the NE Portland Cully Neighborhood. NE Portland is the most racially diverse area of Multnomah County and the clinic was strategically placed to provide culturally competent care to a population that otherwise may not have access to medical care.

You can really feel the pity that the Multnomah County elites have for the unwashed people of northeast Portland.

Program Description
La Clinica provides culturally competent, comprehensive primary care, preventive health and enabling services such as transportation, translation, case management and health education which address the needs of the whole person.

Although La Clinica was initially intended to serve the Latino community, the program has expanded to include culturally-specific services for Somali immigrants and refugees, and Russian speaking families in the Cully neighborhood and beyond.

And you thought that treating a broken bone would be the same regardless of ethnicity. I guess you didn't take into account the taxpayer provided transportation service.

But Migavs doesn't object to using the "taxpayer provided transportation service" known as roads, freeways, bridges, overpasses, traffic lights, and sidewalks.

7:21 AM The problem that you don't pay taxes so you don't care. Those of us who are being ground down by high taxes are pissed off and we aren't going to take it anymore.

Are we talking about 'culturally sensitive' roads, freeways, bridges, overpasses, traffic lights and sidewalks?

Actually, Anon 7:26, the bigger problem is that when you make assumptions about people you don't know -- like assuming I don't pay taxes -- you end up making a fool of yourself. I got a tax cut under the Obama administration, and I also saw my property taxes go down by a few bucks this fall. So call me a space alien, but taxes are really not something I expend a lot of energy getting "pissed off about."

You're not going to take it anymore, eh? Well, let me throw it back at you: What are you planning to do about it?

I've done some Spanish interpreting, mostly medical. I worked on the west side and was surprised at the number of Suburbans and other fancy new cars parked in the patient spaces of subsidized clinics.

A lot of people getting that tax-funded help are hardly poor.

Of course they have nice cars, they don't pay their fair share of taxes. They claim all the exemptions they can.

They are basically thieves. That is the reason they vote democrat.

Apparently, the closest emergency room just isn't doing the trick anymore.

Although La Clinica was initially intended to serve the Latino community, the program has expanded to include culturally-specific services for Somali immigrants and refugees, and Russian speaking families in the Cully neighborhood...

Isn't La Clinica being ethnically insensitive and discriminatory to Somalis and Russians (not to mention Americans) by virtue of the fact that their name is in Spanish? Will there be a clinic for Somalis in their native language that caters to their cultural needs? What about the Russians? Don't they deserve cultural sensitivity and a clinic in their own language?

Why don't we go all the way and build separate clinics (on the taxpayer's dime, of course) that cater to and segregate every ethnic group in the area?

Re: anon 7:21am,

Some of these immigrants came from countries that drive on the left side of the road. Why don't we build them a separate infrastructure that recognizes their unique "cultural needs"? After all, it's only tax money and we have plenty of it, right?

After watching the Miglavians yawn through two terms of record-setting deficts under Bush, hundreds of billions flushed down the crapper in Iraq, we're supposed to believe that you've got your panties in a wad over a health care clinic in NE Portland because it's funded by taxpayers?

Yeah, right.

Actually Bush was cutting the deficit dramatically until the Democrats took congress. Obama has increased the total debt more in 20 months then it increased in the 8 years of the Bush administration. The Democrats have destroyed the economy and turned a cyclical recession into a depression. Now out of panic or demonic intent they are desperately trying to destroy our currency as well.

The reason you don't spend a lot of energy being pissed about taxes is because you don't pay them. You are a slob sitting in your underwear in your parents basement blurting out your racist bigoted claims in a dope induced coma. Get a job!! Do something with your life. Learn a trade. Stop leaching off your mom...

My poor mother-in-law lives in a little trailer in a crappy trailer park. The illegal family acroos the street from her has a new Escalade. But don't worry, the kids are eligible for welfare and food stamps and free medical thanks to our hard work and high taxes. Is this a great country or what???

Anon 8:50, what you're doing is called projecting. Look it up. And put on some pants.

Anon 8:48, you clowns can't even get your facts straight half the time on immigration, an issue you actually pay attention to. What the hell makes you think you've got a clue about global finance and currency? But if you have to lecture us on it, at least let us know what rightwing site you're copy-pasting from so we can see whose bullshit you're shoveling.

FP, good to see you again.

and of course just by the name of the business you can tell that it is open to all

In Miglavia, businesses with English names do not provide service to Latinos; businesses with Latino names do not provide service to "legal" Americans.

Thanks to 4:11 for this insight. And welcome to Miglavia.

In Anonymousland, there is no distinction between a citizen of the United States and an illegal alien, let alone between legal immigrants and illegal aliens. In Anonymousland, 8 U.S.C. § 1325 doesn't exist.

In FPWorld, the government gets to decide, depending on your place of birth and current geographic location, whether you are "legal" or "illegal." But when the government does virtually anything else, government is evil and should be eliminated from our lives.

I agree with many points. But in some areas, I feel we need to be more aggressive. Just my opinion. Love ya. wedding dress sleeves Xbox 360 Accessories Louboutin Shoes Christian Louboutin Boots Mother Of Bride
